20160815_200318 20160815_200335

Inside I found a note thanking me for being a subscriber and telling me that since this was my last box they included a bonus gift for me.  Underneath the tissue I could see all of the lovely items they send out.

20160815_200352

They don’t have an info card but include a letter telling you about the items.

20160815_200645

Affirmations

They send out four so you have a new one for each week of the month.  You are supposed to keep them where you can see them everyday and repeat them to yourself.

20160815_200410

Tea

This months blend is Blooms of Beauty and it is a mix of lemon balm, spearmint, chamomile, rose, nettle, alfalfa, dandelion, raspberry leaf, and marjoram.  All of their teas have been very good.  I have mostly been using them for iced tea and they work great.

20160815_200427 20160815_200450 20160815_200438

Handmade Bath Salts and Soap

Normally you would only get one soap but the orange sheep one is my thank you gift.  The actual soap of the month is strawberry.  The bath salts are lemon.  They contain essential oils which can improve your mood and are a natural disinfectant.

20160815_200503

Chocolate

Once again slightly melty but no big mess.  It doesn’t affect the taste in the least and they are a nice treat.

20160815_200752

Gemstone

This months stone is Picture Jasper.  I have never received a shaped stone from them before.  This gem can help with cravings, fertility, initiative, and to quit smoking.  I’m struggling with my weight loss so maybe this can give me a bit of a boost.

20160815_200706

Essential Oil Blend

The blend this month is Beat The Heat and will cool and refresh you on a hot day.  As usual I cannot identify the oils but it smells nice and maybe has some mint?  It is bright and refreshing on my face.

20160815_200530

Earrings

Well these are fun summer earrings.  They have little drink glasses with fruit in the rim as the charm.  Cute.

20160815_200606

Surprise

The surprise item for this month is a Manicure/Pedicure set.  I’m tossing it in my bag right now because I have been needing a file and clippers for the last few days while we are camping and didn’t have one!  Now I have no excuse.

There is no way for me to value this box but it would be about curation more than value anyways.  I fell I got my $20 worth and I love that it is Canadian.  All of the bath products are wonderful, the oil is useful, chocolate can never be bad, tea is welcome, and the gemstone and affirmations are great reminders to stop and think for a minute.  If you want to get your own Warm Hug, click here to check them out.

20160718_142824 20160718_142928

Warm Hug ships in a pizza box with a logo sticker on it.  Inside I could see most of my items all spread out and it didn’t look like my chocolate was melts this time!

20160718_142939

They send you a letter detailing what scents, oils, and stones you would be getting, plus a little about them.

20160718_143150

Affirmations

They have changed up the affirmations this month and they are more professional looking.  The messages are similar to what they had been and a good way to remind yourself to take care of you.

20160718_143015

Tea

The blend this month is Heartburn Tea.  It is a mix of peppermint leaf, anise, and chamomile.  It smells fantastic and I don’t care if it works for heartburn because peppermint is my favourite tea.  The amount of tea they send gives you quite a few cups as well.

20160718_143007 20160718_143022

Handmade Bath Salts and Soap

The soap this month is Pineapple and it is a glycerin soap.  They have lovely moulds that they use and the butterfly is pretty.  The bath salts are lime and the letter tells that lime essential oil is antiseptic, antiviral, prevents aging symptoms, and helps restore energy.

20160718_143204

Chocolate

Well I was wrong and my chocolates did melt a bit.  Thankfully they didn’t make a mess like last month though.  I enjoy the assortment of Lindt and savour each one.

20160718_143105

Gemstone

The stone this month is Serpentine.  It is good for meditation and to balance mood swings.  Lord knows I need this stone!!  It also can help with stomach cramps and if you’re nursing it can help regulate your milk supply.

20160718_143030

Essential Oil Blend

This months blend is Back Balm.  You spray it on your back and rub it in to loosen tight muscles and calm nerve endings.  I’m not sure what the oil is but it has one of the worst scents I’ve received from them. As long as it works I guess.

20160718_143135

Earrings

I don’t mind this months earrings.  They have pink and clear beads with filigree hearts on the end.

20160718_142957

Surprise

The surprise item this month is an eye sleeping mask.  It is a nice touch and I can use this.

20160615_205238

Same as always, we get the heart paper covering any hope of a first peek.

20160615_205245

Somewhat better after removing it but still fairly hidden.

20160615_205258

The don’t have an info card but they include a letter that tells you about each thing and how or why to use it.

20160615_205551

Affermations

They include 4 affirmations each month.  You are supposed to keep the were you can see them and speak them to yourself everyday.  As you can see one of the treats got a bit melty and you’ll notice it on a few different things.

20160615_205334

Tea

This month the tea is Tranquili-Tea.  It is a blend of red clover St.John’s wart, rose hips, and peppermint leaf.  All the teas I’ve received from them have been excellent and I’ve used them up.

20160615_205325 20160615_205402 20160615_205356

Handmade Bath Salts and Soap

Vanilla bath salts this time, with some of that aforementioned chocolate.  They are made with Epsom salts, sea salt, vegetable based colourant, and fragrance oil.  The soap is Sweet Orange.  It is a glycerin soap and from the other ones I’ve used it lathers well and smells nice.

20160615_205612

Chocolate

So here is the cause of all the problems.  Not that it’ll stop me from eating it but one is very melty and flat.

20160615_205516

Gemstone

The stone is Carnelian.  It’s used for overcoming negative thoughts, restoring creativity and vitality, calming you, and banishing anger and resentment.  It can also be helpful with lower back problems, depression, arthritis, boosting fertility, and vitamin and mineral absorption.

20160615_205439

Essential Oil Blend

Well here we have more of the chocolate.  The oil spray is Memory Boost.  Obviously it helps with memory and also clearing your mind.  I’m not sure what oils are in it but it smells refreshing and pleasant.

20160615_205346

Earrings

They include a handmade pair of earrings each month.  These ones are not my style at all.

20160615_205605

Surprise

They always add a little something in the box and this month it was a colouring page.  It is unuseable because of the chocolate but a nice touch.

Opening up the lid gives you nothing!  Damn them…..

20160511_175557 20160511_175624

Ahh…there we go, now we can see the goodies.  Removing the letter gives me an even better view.

20160511_175643

Warm Hug doesn’t have an info card but they do send you a letter each month with all the details on your items.

20160511_175906

Affirmations

They include 4 each month so you can have a new one each week until you get another box.  You are supposed to keep them somewhere you can see them and repeat them to yourself.

20160511_175754

Tea

I’m really excited to try this tea blend.  I just got a iced tea steeper and this Fruity Zinger Tea will be great for that I think.  They hand make the blends sent out and this one includes raspberry leaf, hibiscus, lemon peel, ginger, red clover, and stevia.  It smells good and I’ll give it a go tomorrow morning.

20160511_175720 20160511_175737

Handmade Bath Salts and Soap

There are twp soaps this month.  One is leaf shaped and the round one is like a sand dollar pattern.  The cucumber melon scent is so fresh smelling.  It is not overly strong but there is no mistaking it.  The bath salts are sweet basil.  It is a bit odd to think of wanting to make myself smell like a herb but they have yet to steer me wrong with these salts.  This one will give your skin a healthy glow and can help acne.  It also can help relieve coughs and sinus issues. They colour the water and release a nice smell, while relaxing you.

20160511_175746

Chocolate

They include a few treats so that you can give yourself a moment of comfort if you need it.

20160511_175836

Gemstone

This month the stone is Brecciated Jasper.  I can honestly say that I have never ever heard of this one.  As you can see from the included scroll this stone promotes dream recall and can help promote calm, nurturing, detoxing, and tranquility.  It’s also good for creativity and increasing endurance, while preventing dehydration.

20160511_175815

Essential Oil Blend

This month I got Bedtime Bliss, which helps calm and relax you, so you can fall asleep quickly and stay that way.  I wonder if it will help me sleep through the cries of mom that emanate from the girls rooms at crazy hours of the night???  I can’t tell the main oils but they are pleasant.

20160511_175805

Earrings

These are handcrafted earrings that they include simply so you can feel your best.  These are just plastic beads but they are okay.  I do find that this is not something I would expect in a box like this and I kinda miss the mascot that used to be included.

20160511_175656

Surprise

The surprise this month is a Cinnamon Loofah.  I’m always happy to receive more bath items.  Loofahs are fantastic for exfoliating without being super harsh and this one has a small amount of soap inside it to cleanse as well.

Warm Hug March 2016

Warm Hugs is a subscription box that reminds you that you need to take care of yourself as well as others.  They are also Canadian so yay to that!  Boxes will include affirmations, tea, gemstones, essential oil blends, chocolates, bath salts or soaps, a mascot, and a surprise.  They make the oils and bath products themselves and sell them on their site.  They also sell the boxes alone and have a Postpartum box that has items new moms can use to sooth sore areas.  You can even order a subscription and get that as your first box if you let them know.  Boxes are $20 plus $7 shipping (Canadian funds!!!!!) but if you go with a six month plan you get 10% off.

20160412_181904

Inside the box there was a pretty sheet of tissue.  It just makes it a little nicer.

20160412_181920

Underneath that is all my presents!  The box is comfortably heavy because of the salts.

20160412_181931

They send you a letter telling you what you received and ways to use the items.

20160412_182052

First up are the affirmations.  You put these somewhere you can read them daily to remind yourself that you and life are awesome.

20160412_181951

They send you a handmade blend of tea.  This month they sent out Allergy Season Tea, which has mint, echinacea, lavender, clover, calendula, lemon balm, green tea, and stevia.  This smells lovely and while I don’t have any allergy issues I think it’ll be a good tea to drink anyways.

20160412_181941

Now we come to the bath salts.  They are also handmade and this month is strawberry.  They are quite pink and smell sweet.  They say they are a fun and relaxing Spring favourite.

20160412_182004

The handmade soap is spearmint.  It is not too strong but does not hide what it is.  It has antiseptic, antispasmodic, and disinfecting qualities as well as relaxing muscles and stimulating the brain.  This is the most useful soap I’ve ever owned!

20160412_182102

Again this month is a few Lindt chocolates to help you get through those times when only chocolate will do.

20160412_182114

This month’s gemstone is a coffee moonstone.  It’s very pretty and according to the handy info scroll it is a healing and protective stone.  It wards off nightmares and eradicates insomnia.  If it can help with that I will gladly rub this thing before bed as mine has come back with a vengeance.  It helps to balance the hormonal system and eliminates toxins while easing menstrual issues.  It can also be called the Traveller’s Stone and protects those who travel at night or over water at night.  That’s a bit odd….

20160412_182036

The oil blend this month is Blemish Buster.  You spray this onto a cotton ball and apply that to the area that you wish hadn’t magically appeared on your face overnight.  It smells quite strong and not that pleasant so maybe best to use at night.

20160412_182022

So they used to give you a mascot each month just to cheer you up.  Starting this month they have changed that to a pair of earrings.  I’m not sure what happens if you were a man getting this box because they don’t ask your gender when you sign up.  I’m normally not much for this type of earring but I like these ones and will wear them.

20160412_182125

Last up this month is the surprise item.  This time it’s a pretty 80 page lined journal.  You could also use it as a notebook.  I love stationery of all kinds and as a result this makes me very happy.

Warm Hug February 2016

20160314_173025

So I can’t actually be sure this is February’s box but I’m basing my decision on the heart tissue paper things came packed in.

20160314_173052 20160314_173639

There is a sheet showing you the list of products but it’s just general, not specific to your box.  It tells you why each of those items mentioned above have been included. They also included their business card.

20160314_173035

You would not believe how great this box smells!  I’m not sure yet which of these things is making it so delicious but the box is well packed and nice and full.

20160314_173502

Affirmations

They include one for each week of the month to help you out.  You are to put these somewhere you will see them and repeat them to yourself.  Little reminders are never a bad thing.

20160314_173111

Tea

Their teas are handmade and the one I got is Quiet Time Tea.  It’s a blend of oregano, chamomile, lemon balm, and thyme.  I don’t think I’ve ever had a tea with oregano and thyme in it before so it should be interesting.  It does smell a touch like a pizza but maybe I’m simply hungry. The bag is quite big and will make plenty of cups of tea.

20160314_173207 20160314_173325

Handmade Bath Salts and Soap

The info letter says that this glycerin soap is Lavender with a vegetable based colourant.  The soaps they sell on the site seem smaller but retail for $3.00 each.  It is definitely nice enough to be given as a gift and the scent is not overpowering at all.  The bath salts are the super smelly stuff!  These are Tropical Passionfruit and have epsom salts, sea salt, colour and essential oils in them.  These are going to be so good!

20160314_173339

Chocolate

This month has an assortment of Lindt Lindor balls.  These are something I rarely buy but they are delicious.  They say they include them because a little chocolate can brighten a day. Smart people.

20160314_173435 20160314_173612

Gemstone

There, thankfully, was a little scroll included that talks about what stone you got.  They promise a different one each month and tell you to rub it or carry it with you to get it’s properties.  This month is Howlite, for calming emotions.  It’s like they know me at this point.  It’s pretty small so you could have it on you and no one would notice.  As you can see from the description this stone brings calm and relaxation, creativity, and has healing properties as well.  I am a believer in this type of thing so I’ll happily keep it around.

20160314_173413

Essential Oil Blend

This months blend is called Sad Begone and is a facial mist.  It should lift your spirits if you’re down.  It does not give me a list of what is in it but it seems to have some peppermint based on the scent.

20160314_173359

A Mascot

They give you a polymer clay figure each month just to make you smile.  Mine is a turkey and he did arrive with one toe broken off but still stands.  I think he’s cute and he does make me smile so mission accomplished.

20160314_173623

Surprise

My surprise item this month is a Dream magnetic notepad.  I have one of these on the fridge all the time and the message on this one fits the box.  It has the price on the back of $1.50 and that’s okay.
