TeeBlox July 2016

TeeBlox is a monthly t-shirt subscription that sends out licensed geek and gamer shirts.  They offer you the choice of 8 different themes.  You can pick from Disney, Marvel, DC Comics, Cartoons, Movies & TV Shows, Games, Beers & Liquors, and Hot Meex.  You get the shirt plus a comic and some stickers usually and when I signed up prices were at $9.99 a month.  They have now upped their plans to $14.99 because they plan to send out better add-ons.  Shipping to Canada is a bit of a downer though at $15/month and that was a surprise because their shipping lists at $2.50 and doesn’t say that it is only for the US.  I went with the Hot Meex theme so I had no clue what to expect for a shirt.

The shipping package for this one is fun.  The back of this is clear but all you can see is the folded shirt.

This is a Star Wars sticker.  I don’t do Star Wars but the sticker is cute and I’m sure I can find someone to give it to.

This months comic is The Vision and the Scarlet Witch #5 from February 1986.  This was originally  75 cents and I’m sure it’s still worth about the same.  Oddly this one came in it’s own protective bag and appears to be in great condition for a 30 year old comic book.

The t-shirt this month is a recognizable logo for sure.  Batman in the house!  I think I would like this more if it didn’t have the American flag as the background.  This might be one for my hubby.

This was my last shipment from them and I’m not all that sad.  There have been a few of the shirts that I really liked and then some that just aren’t for me.  The stuff has just not been things I really care about, and I could care less about the comics.   I am miffed about the shipping but beyond that the shirts feels like good quality and they’re not thin at all.  They say they are licensed though I can’t tell either way so I’m going to believe them.  If you want to check them out you can click here

Well we get a new shipping bag again this month and it’s a nice one.  They are becoming more professional by the second.

The comic this month is Umbral Chapter One from November 2013.  It had an original value of $2.99.  It seems to follow a couple of teens trying to save a kingdom from something.  If you haven’t figured it out yet I don’t get this plan for the comics.

Instead of stickers this month they included a movie poster for No Country For Old Men.  These are selling on Amazon for about $5.00.  I have never seen this movie but Hubs says it’s good.  I’d rather have got some stickers.

The shirt makes up for everything.  I love this shirt so much I can’t even express it.  This is the very best shirt I have received in any of my boxes and I’m so so sos happy.  I mean it’s freaking Spock!  Happy! Joy! Yay!!!

I’m really glad I only got a 6 month plan with this one.  The stuff has just not been things I really care about, though this one is more to my liking.  I am miffed about the shipping but beyond that the shirt feels like good quality and it’s not thin at all.  They say they are licensed though I can’t tell either way so I’m going to believe them.  If you want to check them out you can click here.

They have changed up the shipping package.  It used to come in a grey mailer bag and now the back of the bag is clear so everyone can see your business.

The comic this month is Ultimate Comics X-Men #16 from November of 2012.  If you had purchased it new then you’d be out $3.99.  At least I know a little bit about the X-Men so this might be one of the better comics they’ve sent me.

I’m loving the shirt this month!  DJ Popeye rules.  He seems to have got a few more tats since the last time I saw him but to be fair that was years ago.  This is the kind of shirt I was hoping I would get with the Hot Meex option.

20160526_154759

Instead of stickers this month the other item was a huge world map.  I’m oddly happy with this but now need to figure out a place to hang it.  It’s not hugely detailed but it does have provinces and states and countries labeled.

First thing out of the bag this month are a Green Lantern and Batman sticker.  I think I may have already received the Batman one before but that’s okay.

20160506_130036

The comic this month is The Stand: Captain Trips No.4 from February 2009.  I still can’t get over the fact that comics are now printed on glossy paper.  They are so far beyond what I used to read and to be honest it freaks me out a little.  This was worth $3.99 when it was published.

20160506_130114

Yay another True Blood shirt…..not.  I had hoped when I signed up for the Hot Meex that they would rotate through all the options but I seem to be stuck on a few of them.  I have never watched this show and therefor don’t get any references to things or have any knowledge of the show.

I’m really glad I only got a 6 month plan with this one.  The stuff has just not been things I really like.  Here’s hoping the last few make up for it.  I am miffed about the shipping but beyond that the shirt feels like good quality and it’s not thin at all.  They say they are licensed though I can’t tell either way so I’m going to believe them.  If you want to check them out you can click here.

Two more stickers again this month, the one on the left is the TeeBlox logo and then we have Batman!

20160324_195620

The comic this month is Sovereign Seven 1, from July 1995.  It looks fun and even if it’s crap you finish reading them in a few minutes and then send them to a thrift shop or recycle them so it’s all good.

20160324_195713

This months shirt is a win for me.  Obviously this is a James Dean image and just uses the Rebel part of his movie title.  The picture doesn’t show it well but this is a purple shirt, which I think makes it cooler.  Loving this!!

I think this is going to be a good subscription.  I am miffed about the shipping but beyond that the shirt feels like good quality and it’s not thin at all.  They say they are licensed though I can’t tell either way so I’m going to believe them.  If you want to check them out you can click here.

There is no info card included so first out of the box were a couple of large stickers.  Now superheros are insane in our house right now and if I was to show these to my kids they would be stuck to the wall and I would have to yell at them.

20160225_182816

Next up was the comic.  This is DC Comics Convergence Superman:Man of Steel 2 Variant Cover. I obviously have not bought a comic in years because I had no clue that they are not printed on glossy paper, not newsprint.  This one is from July 2015, which is fairly new and I’ll give it a read for sure.  I used to read all my brothers old comics so I enjoy them and if it’s not crazy violent I know Bug will like it too.

20160225_182912

On to the shirt.  I don;t think this is going to be my month for my fandoms.  This shirt says “Welcome To Hot Shot, LA.  It is a True Blood tv show shirt and that is not a show I ever watched.  I do like the shirt though and think the graphic is awesome.  I’m going to wear this and just hope that no one asks me questions on the show because all I can say is that there are vampires on it.

I think this is going to be a good subscription.  I am miffed about the shipping but beyond that the shirt feels like good quality and it’s not thin at all.  They say they are licensed though I can’t tell either way so I’m going to believe them.  If you want to check them out you can click here.
