Sunday Mood November 2017

Sunday Mood is a monthly box that includes a mix of indie brands, vegan beauty lines, all-natural bath & beauty products, handmade jewelry, cool niche household items, art, specialty teas, and healthy treats.  They offer two different sizes of box, a sample box that has 2-3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size item or the full-size box that contains 4-6 full-size products.  They are priced at $25 and $44 but do go down with longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $10 per box.  This is another one I picked up on Mother’s Day for 50% off or I would never have given it a go.  There was an additional Customs charge when it arrived, so that is something to keep in mind if you order.

20171215_195413

The box felt heavy this month but opening left me thinking that it was a little scarce in items. Once again there is not an info card for the month.  There seems to be a bit of chatter online that there has been no response from customer service for people who have reached out and that the quality of the items has been dropping.  They are supposed to be all full sized products in the box and I know that I can say that that has not really been the case for a few months.  I really would like to get something that tells me about what I received personally.  I could forgive the lack of full sized items if I knew that what I was getting was worth it.

RoseVale Bath Bomb in Love-$2.69

This bath bomb smells very nice.  They are free of artificial colors and dyes and leave no residue in your tub.  I have been running very low on bath bombs and you can’t believe how happy this makes me.  I can only hope that Santa is reading my blog and brings me some for under the tree.

20171215_195509

Freedom Natural Deodorant in Lavender Citrus-$17.00

Well, this was shockingly expensive.  It has a whole bunch of ingredients that make you feel good about wearing this.  It is also aluminum free, paraben free, phthalates free, and dye free.  The lavender comes through as the main scent and it goes on very dry and smooth.

20171215_195527

Foxbrim Stretch Mark Oil-$13.95

This oil is formulated to heal stretch marks and scars using natural and organic ingredients.  It is cruelty-free and bottled in small batches.  I didn’t test this on my stretch marks yet but it feels nice on my hand.  It doesn’t leave me super shiny or greasy feeling even though it was definitely an oil that came out if the bottle.  It has almost no smell at all to it.

20171215_195432

Numi Organic Pu-erh Chocolate Tea

Well, this month I only got two where last month I three so there’s a downer.  I still haven’t tried the other ones because I’m thinking I’m not going to enjoy them all that much.

I am just okay with the box this month. The items are fine but without a card or some idea of what I’m getting it’s a downer for me.  The value for this month is not available since I can’t identify parts of the box.  That is okay but I’d rather not have had the Customs fee on top.  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout, but be aware of the issues that have been happening.

20171101_192704

This is a case of the lack of information.  I have no idea what this is, who made it, where it came from, or what makes it up.  I believe that this is bath salts with some type of herbs mixed in.  It is dry to the touch so not a scrub but that’s really all I know.

20171101_192721

This is a chunk of quartz, I think.  Again no clue but I can tell it’s a rock.  Based on other things I can safely assume that this has some type of healing properties.

20171101_192733

Autumn Equinox Ritual Mist

I had higher hopes of finding something online for this one but I’ve come up empty.  It is a blend of oils in infused water.  It smells wonderful but I”m not sure if you are supposed to spray it on yourself or use it in some other way.

20171101_192746

There are 3 teabags of Numi Organic Chocolate Pu-erh Tea.  This might be good but chocolate tea doesn’t sound all the great to me.  Let’s hope I’m wrong.

20171101_192803

Dang Coconut Chips

Well, these are something that I know I like!  Coconut chips are so tasty and I can convince myself that they are healthy when I eat half a bag at a time.  These ones are not flavoured with anything but the goodness of coconut alone.

Sunday Mood Box September 2017

20170927_200643

There is not an info card in this box so I need to guess at why and what all of these things are.  Everything arrived in safely, even though there are glass bottles in there.

20170927_200657

Chamomile Roses Organic Full Leaf Tea-$4.21

This is a relaxing tea blend.  It has chamomile and rose petals and that seems to be it.  It smells nice and they recommend that you serve it with a touch of honey for sweetness.

20170927_200718

Moon Phace Collective Dark Moon Resting Mist-$7.00

This mist smells really nice, it makes you want to spray it all over yourself.  It is a blend of patchouli, ylang-ylang, and orange blossom.  You can spray this on clothes, linens, hair, yourself, and just into the air.  You use this to gain peace, tranquility, renewal, and support after times of stress and release.

20170927_200736

Andrea’s Organic Market Luminous Skin Green Tea & Jasmine Facial Scrub-$4.84

This is an exfoliating scrub made with almond and grains.  You mix one tablespoon of this powder with water to create a liquid that you can use daily.

20170927_200811_001

Small Vial of Amethyst

This picture won’t turn for me but this still gives you a good idea of what they shipped out. I am aware that crystals have healing properties but it would have been very useful to know what they were hoping to promote with this one.

20170927_200931

Organic Luminescents-$?

I have no idea what this is.  There is nothing like it on the Etsy Shop.  It might be lip balm or eyeshadow.  It is a soft cream that has a slight shimmer.  I honestly have zero ideas.

I am just okay with the box this month. The items are fine but without a card or some idea of what I’m getting it’s a downer for me.  The value for this month is not available since I can’t identify parts of the box.  That is okay but I’d rather not have had the Customs fee on top.  With the discount I got I feel like the Queen of the world with this one.  I love it!!!  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout.

Sunday Mood Box August 2017

Sunday Mood is a monthly box that includes a mix of indie brands, vegan beauty lines, all-natural bath & beauty products, handmade jewelry, cool niche household items, art, specialty teas, and healthy treats.  They offer to different sizes of box, a sample box that has 2-3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size item or the full-size box that contains 4-6 full-size products.

20170819_141658

This month there was no info card in the box with the items.  I guess they took it easy for the summer box.  There is an abundance of squiggles though, just to balance out the paper consumption.

20170819_141710

Superfood Health Warrior Coconut Chia Bar-$1.67

This little bar is dairy free, soy free, gluten free, and vegan.  I love coconut and am always looking for snacks that I can take to work to get me through the day.  This bar also is only 110 calories so it’s not as horrible for me as some other things I could be eating.

Fruity Beauty Shampoo & Cerberus Conditioner-$14.95 each

Holy cow! A beauty box actually sent out a shampoo and conditioner in the same box.  These are Canadian made, organic, with ethically sourced ingredients, and vegan.  The shampoo is a strengthening formula safe for all hair types.  The conditioner is great for dry hair and has three hydrating oils to add shine as well.

20170819_141802

Foxbrim Makeup Remover-$13.95

This remover contains a blend of four oils to clean, soften, and prevent breakouts.  It also moisturizes as you remove the makeup so you are not drying out your skin and stripping off the good parts that keep you looking young.  I have been finding that oils work well on my skin type and while I wouldn’t purchase them if I get them in a box I’m all for using them up.

I am happy with the box this month. Most of the items this month are great and I can’t wait to use them.  The value for this month is $45.52.  That is okay but I’d rather not have had the Customs fee on top.  With the discount I got I feel like the Queen of the world with this one.  I love it!!!  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout.

Sunday Mood Box July 2017

Sunday Mood is a monthly box that includes a mix of indie brands, vegan beauty lines, all natural bath & beauty products, handmade jewellery, cool niche household items, art, speciality teas, and healthy treats.  They offer to different sizes of box, a sample box that has 2-3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size item or the full-size box that contains 4-6 full-size products.

The box is branded and small enough to fit into a mailbox.  Inside things are nestled safely in their squiggles.

There is a card in the box that tells me that the box theme is Summer Camp this month.  The back of the card lists all the items that are hidden in here, with their prices and social media information.

20170706_195642_001

Soy Campfire Candle-$6.00

Once again no matter what I do, this picture will only go sideways.  Sorry about that.  This candle smells like smoke and vanilla.  It is a little odd since why would you want your house to smell like a fire but the candle itself is nice and soy candles do burn well.

20170706_195629

Motivate Room & Body Mist-$15.00

This mist says it has a woodsy smell with a blend of lime, rosemary, peppermint, and pine needles.  I don’t get any of those scents at all and I’m not sure if I like this or not.  I guess for a room spray it will be fine to cover up other scents.  It is not a smell that motivates me to do anything though.

20170706_195706

Vegan Healing Salve-$20.00

This salve has something melted in with it but I don’t know what.  You can use this to heal cuts and scrapes, burns, or just plain dry skin.  It is made with St.John’s wart, calendula petals, and plantain leaf.  It doesn’t have very much of a scent and it’s soft so you can rub it in easily.

Mountain Adventures Necklace-$15.00

This necklace is nice.  It is handcrafted and hand carved.  It has a mountain scene on it.  The chain is a little light and cheap feeling but I like the pendant.  It fits the theme well too.

20170706_195602

Vegan Kale & Pumpkin Seed Savory Snack Bar-$2.50

This says it is a blend of pea crisps, amaranth, rosemary, EVOO, and the kale and seeds.  It sounds horrible but I hope it’s not.  It is all natural, non-GMO and gluten free.  I always like to try new bars for snacks at work so this one will end up on my desk.

20170706_195612

Vegan Sunflower Seed Crunchies Dutch Cocoa-$2.00

These ones look better to me than the previous ones.  They seem to be little cookies with sunflower seeds baked in.  They have protein and fibre in them as well.

I am happy with the box this month. Most of the items this month are great and I can’t wait to use them.  The value for this month is $60.50.  That is okay but I’d rather not have had the Customs fee on top.  With the discount I got I feel like the Queen of the world with this one.  I love it!!!  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout.

Sunday Mood Box June 2017

Sunday Mood is a monthly box that includes a mix of indie brands, vegan beauty lines, all natural bath & beauty products, handmade jewelry, cool niche household items, art, specialty teas, and healthy treats.  They offer to different sizes of box, a sample box that has 2-3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size item or the full-size box that contains 4-6 full-size products.

The box is fairly thin and has the name stamped on.  That paper you can see hanging down is the Customs form.  Once I opened it up, I could see it was well packed and the items had arrived safely snuggled in their squiggles.

They do include an info card in the box.  I’m not sure it the Gypsy is the theme or not but it could be.  On the back is the list of the items, the supplier, the value, and social media links for them.

20170612_183746

Green Beau Tea Blend-$10.00

This is a tea blend of green tea, rose petals, and rose hips.  You can drink this as a tea, use it as a facial steam, or in a magic ritual if that’s your thing.  I have a cup of tea every night before bed and I have many tea balls to choose from to make this tea in.

20170612_183557

Agate Clay Soap-$10.00

This soap is handmade using vegan ingredients and colours from plants or the earth.  This one has swirls of clay, spirulina, paprika, and indigo.  It smells slightly like pink grapefruit and will be a nice soap to use.

20170612_183729

Eco Exotic Bronzer-$23.00

As you can see this opened slightly but it was sealed on the outside so there was no mess.  It is a bronzer powder but it has absolutely no shimmer at all.  I use all bronzers as blush since I cannot apply them as anything else.  This should give me a good tanned colour and hopefully look good.

20170612_183616

Vegan Kabuki Brush-$15.00

This brush is made by the same company that does the bronzer and can easily be put to use with it.  It will also work for foundation, blush, or powder.  The bristles are very soft but still hold their shape well and don’t shed.

20170612_183806

Cobalt Aura Quartz Crystal Necklace-$30.00

This necklace is beautiful.  It is a piece of raw cobalt crystal on a silver chain.  The crystal benefits the throat chakra and inspires creativity and healing.  Those both seem like a good combination to wear often.

20170612_183819

Vegan Star Child Celestial Body Oil-$12.00

This blend of eight oils can be used as a bath additive or rubbed directly onto the body.  It helps to promote optimism and hope and to help you believe in your dreams.  I love the blue mica in it that will add shimmer.  It does absorb well and you don’t need a ton of it to cover an area.  It smells amazing!  I want to rub this all over my body!

I am so unbelievably impressed with this box!  All of the items this month are great and I can’t wait to use them.  The value for this month is $100.00.  That makes that Customs fee okay!  With the discount I got I feel like the Queen of the world with this one.  I love it!!!  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout.
