Loot Wear August 2016

LVL Up has been renamed to Loot Wear.  It is a monthly subscription catering to people looking for geek clothing and accessories.  They allow you to choose between four options, socks, t-shirts, wearables, and for her.  You can also select the from two bundles if you wanted more than just one choice.  Plans start from $11.99USD and while shipping is included in the US to get things here you need additional shipping fees.  I have chosen the for her option which sends out 1-2 items of apparel and accessories each month.  This month’s theme is Anti-Hero.

They’ve changed up the bag this month.  They now have a quote on it that if you identify and share your answer you can be entered to win a prize pack.

This was the card letting us know things have changed up a little.

20160909_154922 20160909_154931

They did send a card showing the other options but it’s much smaller and to the point than the fold out ones they used to send.

I’m not 100% certain but I believe this is a Harley Quinn skirt.  It is half black and half red with the diamond pattern on the one side.  I don’t know that this is something I’d wear.  I haven’t seen Suicide Squad but it looks like it’ll be a good movie so they completely current.

This month was just okay for me. I may just wear this around the house. I’m having some buyers regret with this one, though a few of the  months have helped alleviate that slightly.   I’m not sure if this will now be more clothing oriented that it was but I guess we’ll find out.  I have a few months left in my plan so I’ll get to see.  It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

They sent this month in a huge bag again and it was very empty feeling and light.

20160806_180000 20160806_180127 (1) 20160806_180112

The do send an info booklet that lets you know the theme, a little bit about the collection, and shows you what each plan options items were.  It’s brilliant marketing really because you get to see what really cool things you could get if you were subscribed to the others as well.

20160806_175935

My item this month is a Bioshock Racerback Tank Top.  I have no clue what Bioshock is.  I do think the tank is cool and I will wear it so that’s good at least.  This is only the second time I’ve received clothes from them.

This month was just okay for me.  I like the item but have no idea what the background is.  I’d have liked the Futurama item better.  I’m having some buyers regret with this one, though a few of the  months have helped alleviate that slightly.   It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

The bag was huge this month!  However it was very flat and quite light.

They include a huge fold out info car that tells you about the theme as well as what every other type of the subscription is getting.

Attack On Titan Adjustable Choker Necklace

I have no clue what Attack of Titan is.  This pendant is on a leather thong and I’m sure symbolizes something.  The insignia is the Scout Regiment Wings of Freedom.

Firefly Kaylee Hanging Travel Case

This is a nice makeup bag.  It has multiple zippered compartments and pouches to hold all of your items.  I know only a little about Firefly but this is good without having the whole backstory.  I’m happy.

This month was one of the  better ones for me on this box.  Even though none of it is my particular Fandoms , the makeup bag is a good thing to get.   I’m having some buyers regret with this one, though the last two months have helped alleviate that slightly.   It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

You always know what’s in this envelope.  This month it felt squishy so I wa thinking maybe a shirt or something like that.

20160606_203325

There is a really bog fold out info card.  I would have taken a picture but the main thing is just a photo of people with all the different possible items, so it’s not that interesting.

20160606_203409

There were two items in my bag this month.  First up is an exclusive Marvel Heroes Charm Bracelet.  This is pretty cool but it’s probably not something I would wear out, unless it was to a movie or other super hero celebration of some sort.  This is not too big for my wrist, which is nice because I have tiny wrists and some bracelets are way too large.

20160606_203451

The main item this month is a Super Mario Bros. Infinity Scarf.  I really like this.  I am so going to wear this to work and see if anyone notices that it’s maybe not so normal.  It is huge, I can easily wrap it around twice and still get a good drape off it.  It has everything one could want to remember about Mario and I’m probably more excited about this than I should be.

So this month was a better one for me on this box.  I love Super Mario, so I think that makes up for some of the more lackluster ones.  This makes the second time only that I’ve received something that is to my particular fandoms or favourites.  I’m having some buyers regret with this one.  It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

Level Up ships in a bubble mailer with the logo on it.  I knew what was going to be inside because they had sent out emails reminding you to pick a size so the soft feel wasn’t a surprise.

20160428_200734

The info booklet is a little different this month.  Instead of a booklet it is a huge folded one.

20160428_200805

When you open it all up you get a large map of the fandoms of the theme.

20160428_200917

My accessory for the month is a pair of Exclusive Star Trek Leggings.  They show the Enterprise soaring across the galaxy.  These are the first pair of leggings I have ever owned.  I don’t feel that they are a flattering item on almost anyone but they will be fine for around the house or layering in winter.

Well I complained last month about getting a necklace three months in a row and now that  they have changed it up I’m still not happy.  The only positive for me is that  I love Star Trek.  This is the first month that I’ve received one of my fandoms.  There was no little extras this month. I’m having some buyers regret with this one.  It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

Everything comes shipped in a padded envelope.  It didn’t feel too full this month but I’ve felt everything else I’ve received from them has been okay so I kept my hopes up.

20160408_132010

There is always a booklet included that tells you not only what you received but also what the other plan types got too.

Exclusive Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman Hair Ties-$9.00

So there is already a fight over these as my superhero obsessed children are asking if they are theirs and I want them!  I love this type of hair tie and think these ones are cool.  The price is approximate based on how much these go for on average, not necessarily superhero ones.

20160408_132101

Exclusive Batman V Superman Bestie Necklace Set-$30.00?

These are cool.  They are silver plated and licenced.  The chain is maybe a bit manly for me and I wouldn’t wear these to work but they are fun and I could show my personal allegiance if I chose one or the other.  Again, since these are exclusive I guessed at the price based on what other similar jewelry made by Bioworld sells for.

I am still not sure how I feel about getting a necklace three boxes in a row now.  There are other accessories out there.  I do like that they threw in a little something extra.  I’m really hoping to get a few things from my specific fandoms soon.  If I was getting the sock package I’d have got some Super Mario socks and that would have been awesome. 20160226_174831

Like last month there is a mini magazine that shows all the items across the Lvl Up brand.  You can see what you’re missing out on and lust over the items you would want.

20160226_174848

There were two items in my pouch this month.  The first was an Exclusive Glow-In-The-Dark Blood Spatter Nail Wraps by Espionage Cosmetics.  I have received quite a few nail wraps from my boxes and I really want to use them.  However I have such short nails that I don’t think that they would look good on me.  I do love the fact that these are glow in the dark though!  If I can ever get them grown out nice I will pop these on.

20160226_174930 20160226_174950

The main accessory this month was an Exclusive The Walking Dead Cherokee Rose Locket by Bioworld.  I don’t watch The Walking Dead but I think that this is nice enough that you could wear it and have non-viewers not think you were crazy.  The locket opens up to have a mirror on the inside, which is also handy.  The card attached gives the narrative that tells the story from the show about the rose.

I am not sure how I feel about getting a necklace two boxes in a row.  I do like that they threw in a little something extra.  I’m really hoping to get a few things from my specific fandoms soon.  If I was getting the sock package I’d have got some Happy Potter socks and that would have been awesome. Everything came in this branded bubble mailer.  Made it easy to know what subscription had arrived.  It did feel pretty light and empty but I was still hopeful for something fun.

20160205_213839

Included in the mailer was a booklet that detailed all the items across the various packages.  You could have received a Space Invaders Hoodie (bunnyhug! I’m from Saskatchewan dammit!), I Believe In Alien and Destiny Socks, or Heart Invaders T-Shirt.  It’s a great way to let people know what they are missing and up your sales.

20160205_213920

My accessory came in its own little pouch.  Since I had looked in the book forst I knew what I was getting but that was okay.

Star Trek Friendship Necklace

This necklace is made to be worn two ways.  You can split it up and give half to your best friend or you can wear it all as one, it has a magnet to hold the pieces together.  The quote on it is from Spock, who is one of the best characters ever.  I am a small t Trekkie so I am quite happy.  It also came with a COA from the maker to ensure that it is official.

So for my first item from them I am pretty happy.  I like Star Trek and this is subtle enough that I could wear it and I don’t think people would notice unless they are really looking at it.  I wouldn’t want to break it up because then you would need to explain it and I’m not into that.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.
