Esthoria Box/Botanic + Terre May/June 2017

Esthoria Box is a bi-monthly box that ships out either a Beauty box or a Lifestyle box.  The products included are green products and help to remove toxins and negative chemicals from your life.  The Beauty Box is $89.00 and the Lifestyle is $29.00.  Both options have added shipping costs.  You can choose to pay per box, a six-month term, or a twelve-month term.  Prices are in Canadian dollars.  If you go with one of the longer terms you actually meet their free shipping threshold and so shipping is not charged.  I am alway happy to find a new Canadian box.  The Beauty Box is out of my price range so I went with the Lifestyle one.  Time to see what they’ve sent out.

I’m slightly confused this month.  This box should have arrived in April or May.  It hadn’t shown up so I emailed them to let them know.  They apologised and said I definitely should have received it by the time I emailed them.  They mailed me out a new one but the label is not what I was expecting and inside seem to be beauty items. There is no card to let me know what should be here.  When I try to go to the old site I have links for it takes me to this one so they might have switched things up.  I have not received any notifications to let me know anything.

Native Nectar Botanical Body Oil-$20.00

This oil can be used as it is for a full body moisturiser or you can add a few drops to your bath.  It smells of the roses that are floating in the bottle.  It also has neroli and sandalwood oils in it.  This did soak in fairly fast but I can tell that there is an oil there.  I think I will save this for winter as it will be more useful to my skin then.

Birchrose + Co Body Polish-$22.00

This sugar scrub has a blend of ginger and citrus lavender with minerals to soothe skin while improving circulation.  It has actual pieces of the herbs in it along with the sugar.  I have a few scrubs in line right now but I think this one will be very nice once I get to it.

Bkind Hand Balm-$16.00

This is Forest scent, which is a blend of shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, fir needle, pine tree, and cedarwood essential oils.  This cream is very thick and you need to rub it in your hands to warm it slightly so you can rub it in.  The scent is not too strong and this will be another item that will be great come fall and winter.

Province Apothecary Regenerating + Stimulating Exfoliator-$16.00

This is a dry powder that you add water to in your hand to make a paste.  You rub it on your face and let the oatmeal, green tea, and lavender work their magic on you.  It is fine for all skin types and is safe for any septic systems.

This box was good. I’m very happy with the customer service I received as well.  The four items included this month have a value of $64.00.  I am going to have to find out what happened to the normal box as I was enjoying the household items. This time everything was in perfect condition upon arrival.

The box was marked fragile but once you picked it up it made a rather horrible sound.  A corner of it was wet as well but it was snowing when this arrived so I didn’t think much of it beyond that.  Once I got the first look, things all seemed okay so I dug in.  They don’t include any info on what will be inside.

Ever Bamboo Room Deodorizer + Dehumidifier-$9.99

Inside this pouch is a bag filled with bamboo charcoal.  You place it in a room up to 100sqft and it will absorb the smells and dampness into it.  You can use it for up to a year by simply placing it in the sun for a few hours once a month and it will reactivate.  I have a room in mind for this already!  This is a great start to this box.

Really Great Goods 100% Natural Room Spray-$16.00

So it turns out it might not have been the snow that made the box wet.  There is good news in this though. After an email to them and sending them a picture of the broken bottle, they shipped me out a new one that arrived in perfect shape.  This spray is nice.  It’s not overpowering or fake smelling like they sometimes are.  Oddly for a lavender scented item, it says it is invigorating.  It must be the lime added in.  I think I’ll keep this one for the bedroom.

Ola Bamboo Toothbrush-2 x $4.99

With four people brushing teeth in this house, anytime we get more toothbrushes it’s a win.  These ones have a bamboo handle with nylon bristles.  They are both soft, which is my preferred option.  The boxes are a little messed up from the leak but there is nothing wrong with the brushes themselves.

Enviro Glass Straw Pack-$17.99

I have a glass straw I got from an American company and now I have a few more from a Canadian one.  These ones come with a cleaning brush, which is awesome.  I don’t let the kids use them not because I think they’ll bite them or anything but I fear they may drop them and then I’ll be sad.  You can use these in hot or cold drinks and they are dishwasher safe.

20170308_174632

Mabu Multi Cloth-2 x $5.33

These are reusable cloths made of wood.  They don’t stain or smell or have bacteria lingering.  You can use them to clean anything from dishes to yourself.  Once you get them dirty you wash and dry them like a regular towel and keep on using them.  My husband has a love affair with paper towels so maybe these can finally break him of the habit.

This box was good. I’m very happy with the customer service I received as well.  The five items included this month have a value of $64.62.  All of the items are from Canadian companies, which is awesome.  This is one that I’m going to enjoy I think.  It fills the void in the Canadian market left by HouseBox shutting down.  Maybe in the future, I’ll give the beauty box a try to see if it’s as good.

Esthoria Box December 2016

Esthoria Box is bi-monthly box that ships out either a Beauty box or a Lifestyle box.

The box is medium sized and has the logo in teal on the cover.  It felt heavy for its size and I really didn’t know what to expect opening it up.  Inside was some wrapped items and a few that I could see.  There was not an info card in the box so I will be going blind into this one.

Clean Kiss Organics Linen Spray in Fresh Kisses-$10.00

This is a full sized bottle of linen spray.  It is scented with lavender, rosemary, and cedar essential oils.  It is a nice scent and I like it better than the Febreeze I currently use to freshen my linen cupboard.  The only ingredients in this are water and the oils.  They recommend you use this on your clothes right out of the dryer instead of dryer sheets to make them smell nice but I can’t see me doing that.  They also included a card with discounts if you wanted to order more things.  They offer a subscription shipping plan as well, right from the company.

20161222_170313

Sapadilla Liquid Dish Soap in Grapefruit + Bergamot-$6.95

This is also a full sized bottle.  It might just be the best smelling dish soap I have ever smelled.  It uses natural ingredients to clean your dishes and has glycerin in it to keep your hands soft at the same time.  Even though we have a dishwasher, we still do one sink of dishes by hand every day so this is a useful and handy thing to have received.

Forever New Fashion Care Fabric Wash in Soft Scent-$5.95

This powder detergent is made with a citric base that does the cleaning.  Soft Scent seems to be lightly baby powder scented, which is a little odd for something that is made for grown up clothes.  This little bottle is good for ten washes in any type of machine you have.  Once again I cannot get the picture to go the right way…..I’m frustrated with this new method of posting they want us to use.

20161222_170325

purEcosheet Dryer Sheets-$16.95

These work like a regular dryer sheet but they don’t have any perfume, dye, or chemicals in them.  They are reusable 500 times between the two of them included in the box.  They work by drawing the static into them and away from your clothes as they tumble around.  This would be an easy way to save money and the environment at the same time.

This box was good.  The four items have a value of $39.85.  All of the items are from Canadian companies, which is awesome.  This is one that I’m going to enjoy I think.  It fills the void in the Canadian market left by HouseBox shutting down.  Maybe in the future I’ll give the beaity box a go to see if it’s as good.
