Bonjour Jolie TOM Box April 2017

Bonjour Jolie is a time-of-the-month box that sends you your necessary items plus some other products to make you feel a little better during that special time.  You give them some information about your period and then select the 25 items you need in any variation of pads, liners or tampons.  They have a wide selection of brands, so no matter what you use they can cover you. They also include a gift, bath and body items, teas and drinks, candy and snacks, some wipes and if you want, some Advil.  Boxes shipped to Canada are $24.50 a month but do decrease somewhat if you order in 3 or 6-month plans.  You can also add on some extras like heating pads or more Advil for additional costs.  I haven’t received this subscription in a while and decided to give it another go since I had enjoyed it so much the first time around.  Unfortunately, it has been nothing but a problem since. They have now extended my plan until May to make up for any missing boxes but I don’t have any expectations and just go with what I get.

The box showed up well packed and neatly wrapped inside.  They do put forth an effort into making the items seem like presents and fun to open.

20170507_183943

They give you a card that lists some of what you can find in your box.  It also tells you that they are celebrating Earth Day.

20170507_184209

The Gift-Hikari Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Majestic-$13.00

Hikari is a cruelty-free brand that is also PETA certified.  Now the card says this is an everyday earth tone, but it’s a dark burgundy shade that doesn’t scream everyday to me. I like the colour but it’ll need a deft hand to not make it look really bad on me.

20170507_184025

The Pampering-The Bomb Gals Bath Bomb in Tie Dye-$6.99

I can’t smell this through the wrapping but I love bath bombs!  These ones are made with natural and vegan ingredients and are handmade.

The Edibles-$17.23

There is a great mix of treats in here this month.  We have some fruit leather, lollipops, jelly beans, Kashi bar, Craisins, popcorn, a PMS tea, and the cutest little tea strainer ever! There is not much in the way of chocolate this month but I think the rest of it will get me through.

Last up are the reasons for the box.  You get a few wipes and some Advil plus your assortment of products that you picked.  It makes it so easy to have things on hand this way.

This box is better than last months. They seem to be back on track with how they normally are. I enjoy discovering some of the things besides the feminine items.  The value this month is around $37.00 but no one is buying this box for the value.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store, I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

Bonjour Jolie TOM Box January 2017

Bonjour Jolie is a time-of-the-month box that sends you your necessary items plus some other products to make you feel a little better during that special time.  You give them some information about your period and then select the 25 items you need in any variation of pads, liners or tampons.  They have a wide selection of brands, so no matter what you use they can cover you. The box was well filled but whatever is in the jar in the lower left has leaked.  Thankfully everything comes in its own little bag and nothing was damaged.

20170219_194220They have a large card that details the items you will find in the box.  It breaks them down by categories and gives info and pricing on some of it.

20170219_194739The Gift-$9.99

This month is a journal and bookmark.  The pages inside are blank and they recommend jotting your resolutions or ideas in it.

20170219_194700The Pampering-$8.99

This is the item that has made such a mess in the box.  It is a coffee body scrub made by Bonjour Jolie.  It really smells of coffee and even though it leaked the scrub inside is still soft and usable.

20170219_194838The Reason

The assortment of pads and tampons is what I chose and I have no complaints.

20170219_194925These are the other essentials you get.  Some pain medication and some wipes, just to get you through.

The Edibles-$6.00

They include a good mix of snack items in the box.  There is a Take 5 bar, Haribo Gold Bears, Oreo Cookies, Keebler Fudge Stripes, and Hershey’s Cookie Layer Crunch bars.  There is also 3 Touch Organic tea bags.  All of these things are stuff that I crave most of the month, not just for one week.

This box is better than last months. They seem to be back on track with how they normally are. I enjoy discovering some of the things besides the feminine items.  The value this month is around $25.00 but no one is buying this box for the value.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store, I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

Bonjour Jolie TOM Box December 2016

I subscribed in March and while I appear to be getting boxes now I’m still missing a few months.  I have been in constant contact with them and am trying to resolve all the issues and have not had much success.

As you can see, this month has a few festive touches.  There was no info card in there, it seems to be hit and miss lately.  I was surprised to see the box of products though.

20170105_144733

There is this nice ear band in there this month.  It is perfectly sized for my head and will be useful as I have to walk a few blocks from my parking spot to my job.  I think this might be the third one I’ve received this season but that is due to me getting many boxes.

There are two branded items in the pampering bag this month.  Peppermint Cocoa Butter Soap, which smells great, and Peppermint Lip Balm.  I think of peppermint as a very seasonal scent so these items make sense to me.  I will use them both and they are a good inclusion.

There was an assortment of hot beverage mixes.  There are mint and caramel hot chocolate mix and three tea bags.  I have tea every day so I can always use more.  The chocolate mixes will go to work and stop me from spending $5.00 to buy one.

In the comforting snack craving department, we have a good selection.  I have never seen the Hershey’s ones before, and I can’t wait to dig into those.  The chocolate squares are a new flavour to me but I know I like that brand.  The cookies are half good for me, I don’t do shortbread. Ever.  It’ll go to my hubby, who may not want it since I think he received about 5lbs of it for Christmas.

20170105_144803There were no wipes this month, just the Advil.

20170105_144705This is the odd thing for me.  I have my plan set to give me a mix of pads, liners and tampons, not to send me a box of something.  I can, and will, use these but it doesn’t show them listening to what is set up on their end.

This box seems a bit thrown together but overall it is good.  I enjoy discovering some of the things besides the feminine items.  I couldn’t do a value this month but no one is buying this box for the value.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

The box was filled to the brim.  I could see lots of snacks and goodies and the wrapped up reason for the box.

20161211_173508This is everything out of the box.  It’s quite the assortment when you see it like this.

20161211_173444They do include an info card that gives an overview of the things you will find that aren’t pads and tampons.

20161211_173951The Gift-One Pulse Bracelet-$9.99

This bracelet is meant to be a reminder that we are one human race and show support for the Orlando shootings.  I like both the message and the bracelet and thankfully, it can clasp up small enough for my tiny wrists.

20161211_173836The Pampering-Bonjour Jolie Pumpkin Spice Body Lotion-$12.00

This is scented with pumpkin and cinnamon.  I like the spice overtones but the pumpkin is super sweet and not for me.  That being said the lotion absorbed well and my hands are not greasy feeling.

The Edibles

There is an assortment of things to make you feel better at that time of the month.  Werther’s Caramel Apple Sot Caramels($1), Hershey’s Chocolate Bar($1), ChipsAhoy Chocolate Chip Cookies($1), Lorna Doone Shortbread($1), Hershey’s Kisses in Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate($.75), SunBelt Bakery Granola Bars($1.50), and Bigelow Tea($1).  It’s a mix of sweet and healthy and chocolate, which is what I want when I’m craving.

20161211_173917

There is the usual wipes and Advil for the practical side of that time of the month.

20161211_173548

Here is the actual items.  You can select the assortment or get a full box of one type of product.

I am glad to actually get one of their boxes again and it was as good as the rest.  I enjoy discovering the  couple of things besides the feminine items.  The value of items this month is around $29.00 but no one is buying this box for the value.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

Bonjour Jolie TOM Box August 2016

20160916_131137 20160916_131212

My August box showed up a little late but it did arrive so that’s good!  It was packed right full to the top.

20160916_131156

They include a card that tells you all about everything in here.  The theme this month is Have A Spa Day!

20160916_131236 20160916_131246

Most of the items show up in bags to keep them corralled.  It prolongs the surprise.

The Gift

20160916_131351

PMS Relief Bath Soak-$14.99

Well I’m guessing my husband will think this might be the most wonderful thing to arrive in a box.  It is vegan, gluten free, cruelty free, nut free, and paraben free.  It may help you with crams, bloating, body aches, pains, and hot flashes.  I take one evening a week for myself and have a bath so I guess I’ll save this until that time of the month and see if it makes a difference.

The Pampering

20160916_131338

Reusable Hot Or Cold Gel Eye Mask-$8.99

I have lots of sleep masks but no gel masks.  I think this might be great for my husband when he gets a migraine.  It also says it can be used for puffy eyes and to reduce sinus pressure.

20160916_131312

Plumeria Soy Candle-$1.50

This candle smells great.  It is a smaller votive but it is hand poured.  I like it.

The Edibles

20160916_131228

Duchess Honey Buns-$1.50

I am quite certain I’ve never received a donut in a box before.  This has plenty of time before it expires and sometimes you just need a late night donut snack.

20160916_131252

Nutella To Go Pack-$1.99

I have bought these for myself before and they are delicious!  It’s hard to go wrong with Nutella.

20160916_131434

Snyder’s Pretzels-$0.50

I love pretzels but prefer the straight ones.  I will probably add these to Bug’s lunch as a snack for a few days.

20160916_131611

Airheads and LaffyTaffy Candy-$1.00

These things have turned out to be great.  I just take them to work and I have a small snack instead of going to the coffee shop for a baked good.  I get the sweet I’m after and I like candy so it makes me happy.

20160916_131630

Twinings Tea-$1.25

Tea is so good to receive anytime but especially during that time of the month.  They sent an assortment and while I’ll give the Earl Grey to Hubs I like the rest.

20160916_131410

They send out a few packs of Advil and some wipes each month.  You can up these for a fee if you wish.

20160916_131738

And the reason for the box.  You can choose from getting a sealed box of your choice or a mix of items you select.  I go for the mix since I use a variety during my time.

I am glad to actually get one of their boxes again and it was as good as the rest.  I enjoy discovering the  couple of things besides the feminine items.  The value of items this month is around $32.00 but no one is buying this box for the value.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

20160808_171206 20160808_171217

This box was super heavy this month and opening it up it was full!  They normally have an info card but there is nothing this month.

20160808_171229 20160808_194024

In the first bag out we have the useful items.  Some Advil, personal wipes, Rituals Body Lotion (which smells really nice), and a Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss in Summer Twilight.  I love Burt’s Bees products and this is a very pretty gloss.

20160808_171238 20160808_193942

The first bag of treats had the fun summer treats in it.  Hi-chews, Swedish Fish(my favourite), and Dum-Dums.

20160808_171247

All in there alone was this pack of Sour Skittles.  Delicious things these.

20160808_171253 20160808_193850

The last bag of goodies had some Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies, PopTarts (YUM!!!), Fibre One Lemon Bar, and 8 drink powders for water.

20160808_171301

There was also this totally random shot glass of smarties.  It is factory packaged but looks like it was homemade.  So odd.

20160808_171307 20160808_194100

The jewelry this month is a lovely gold edged shell necklace.  It is very delicate and pretty.

20160808_171319 20160808_194307 20160808_194237

These are the actual reason for the box and they are what you choose them to be.

I am glad to actually get one of their boxes again and it was as good as the rest.  I enjoy discovering the  couple of things besides the feminine items.  I couldn’t do a value this month without the info card but no one is buying this box for the value though.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

20160704_161812 20160704_161826

The theme this month is Viva Mexico! This box is so wonderfully curated and full that I am so disappointed with the service.   I really do like this box and I am so so sad that I am getting nowhere.

20160704_161851

Here’s a look at everything that was inside.  They pack it all up in cute little pouches and you get more presents as you open each one.

20160704_161911

Mexican Howelite Carved Turtle Bracelet-$7.99

The gift this month is this super cute bracelet.  It is colourful and heavier than it looks.  It is elasticized and would fit most wrists.  This will get worn.

20160704_162019 20160704_162042 20160704_162101

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad-$16.00, Bath & Body Works Lotion & Shower Gel-$2.50, Advil and Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths

The Pampering items this month are nice.  The eyeshadow is Madrid and is a collection of bronzes.  I think it’s great and I’m excited about it.  The  toiletries are White Citrus scented and while I’ve never smelled it before, I enjoy it.  It is just slightly floral but not in a feminine way.  I’m going to search out more of this for sure!  They also include a few Advils and wipes to get you through.

20160704_162149 20160704_162250 20160704_162227 20160704_162211

They include an assortment of edible items to cover most cravings you might have.  The special theme items this month are Takis Feugos Chips($1), which I won’t eat because of the flavour.  I don’t crave spicy at any time.  Chupa Chups Lollipops ($1), in cola, cherry, and chocolate vanilla.  Klass Drink Mixes ($3), in some odd flavours such as mango, rice and cinnamon, and hibiscus. The other items are Bauducco Chocolate Wafers, Ghiradelli Spicy Dark Chocolates, and an assortment of Jolly Rancher Hard Candies.

20160704_162357

The actual reason for this box is pictured here.  As I mentioned you get to pick what you prefer and as long as you equal 25 you’re set.

I am glad to actually get one of their boxes again and it was as good as the rest.  I enjoy discovering the  couple of things besides the feminine items.  The extras are worth $31.49, which means this month is over the amount I paid.  No one is buying this box for the value though.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered

20150609_155924

This months box was just as full as last time.  Everything looked good on first inspection and I could see a few really interesting things.

20150609_155938

For May the theme of the box is From Nepal, With Love.  They are supporting the women of Nepal with some of the items and some just match the theme.

20150609_160016

The required products are the same as last month.  I was happy with what I received and didn’t feel the need to make any changes.  Nothing special about them, just a part of life.

20150609_160252 20150609_160435

The Gift

This months gift item is another piece of jewelry but I think it’s gorgeous!  It is a Nepali Seed-bead Cuff Bracelet worth $14.00.  These are handmade by women in Nepal and help to support women having their own business.  It is from Globalgirlfriend.com.  I’m really happy with this bracelet and think it looks great on me.  The rows are banded together so they stay as a solid group.  Did I mention I love this?

20150609_160123 20150609_160236 20150609_160145

The Pampering

I like that all the parts come in their own little bags to investigate.  It make it more fun then having everything all tossed in a box loose.  The wipes and Advil are back again.  If you don’t want it you can select to not receive the Advil at all.  The other items are Himalayan Sole Bath-$3.00 and Organic Lilac Blossoms Lotion, $12.00 for 4oz.  The bath salts are have 84 ionized minerals in them which act as a detox for your system.  You just have to relax in the tub for 30 min and it will do the rest.  I’m in love with this lotion!  It smells like lilacs and they are my favorite flower.  It has the added benefit of giving 50% of its sale proceeds to the relief effort in Nepal.  The tub is pretty big so even with me savouring every use I’ll still have lots to use.

20150609_160501 20150609_160538

The Edibles-$6.00

This months assortment is mostly asian sweets and treats.  I have tried and liked most of them before so I’m okay with this.  Included are Morinaga Hi-Chew Candy in Mango flavour, 4 Garden Lucky Candy, which I don’t like but are a strawberry hard candy, Imei Cream Wafers which are new to me but I got lemon flavoured so I think I’ll enjoy them, Hello Panda Cookies, chocolate flavour, which I buy every other shopping trip, 4 Milkita Milkshake hard candies, and 3 assorted flavours of Instant Snapple Iced Tea.  I think it’s nice that they didn’t ship out more regular tea as not everyone likes to have hot tea all the time.  The rest of the candies seem to be mostly sweet this time but are a mix of eat quickly and suck on varieties.

My second box from them was as good as the first.  I enjoy discovering the  couple of things besides the feminine items.  The extras are worth $35.00, which means this month is over the amount I paid.  No one is buying this box for the value though.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.

Bonjour Jolie TOM Box April 2015

Bonjour Jolie is a time-of-the-month box that sends you your necessary items plus some other products to make you feel a little better during that special time.  You give them some information about your period and then select the 25 items you need in any variation of pads, liners or tampons.  They have a wide selection of brands, so no matter what you use they can cover you. They also include a gift, bath and body items, teas and drinks, candy and snacks, some wipes and if you want, some Advil.  Boxes shipped to Canada are $24.50 a month but do decrease somewhat if you order in 3 or 6 month plans.  You can also add on some extras like heating pads or more Advil for additional costs.  This post is coming so late because I think my original box was lost in transit.  I contacted them about a month after I’d placed my order and they sent me the tracking number but it showed my box was stuck at a shipping facility for that month.  The day before I was going to ask them again I received both April and May’s boxes taped together and the shipping label for the one had been removed.  Now that they are both here I have no complaints about the shipping.

20150605_133558

The box was full once I opened it up.  I wasn’t expecting that at all.  The card on top tells you all about what’s inside, with the exception of the products you chose yourself.  It has prices and websites so you can get more if you enjoyed them.  It also tells you that this month was their two year anniversary.

20150605_133610 20150605_133621

Under the card everything was wrapped up very nicely.  Inside the wrapping was more bags and wraps to discover.

20150605_133656

My feminine items came inside a chevron bag that as you can see I had to rip open.  I went with my normal assortment of things but as I mentioned you can pick exactly what you want, all of one kind or a mix.

20150605_134002 20150605_134110

Rose Gold Puzzle Necklace-$17.00

Most of the other goodies come in organza bags.  For this month my gift item is this necklace.  It’s really cute and I will totally wear this!  It is made by Seablue Boutique and is a reminder that April was Autism awareness month.  The two pieces are hinged so they flex and the rose gold colour is pretty and goes with everything.

The Pampering Items-$6.00

Beyond the normally included two of each wipes and Advil, there are three pampering items.  San Francisco Soap Company Sugared Citrus Body Lotion, 22ml, which I think I’ve got as a hotel item before but which smells okay and does the job it’s supposed to.  From Our Hearth Amber Soap, which is a glycerine soap scented with sandalwood.  It is paraben, artificial colour, gluten and soy free.  The last pampering item is Sun Coast Salts Hand Scrub, 1oz.  This scrub smells great and bills itself as “The World’s Finest Salt Scrub”.  It is all natural and says it will help with many skin issues.

The Edibles-$9.00

There are lots of treats in this box.  Packed just in the box were Smartfood Popcorn and Lorna Doone Cookies.

In the bag are Chuao Chocolatier Chocolate Pod, which is a spicy mini chocolate bar, 4 Zotz Fizzy Pop Candies in assorted flavours, a package of Nutella which they recommend you spread on the cookies, 3 Candy Creek Lollipops, 2 Nature’s Guru Coconut Water Powder packets, not really sure about those since I hate coconut water but maybe the powdered stuff is better? Lastly 3 different Naturals-N-Organics Tea bags.  I think it’s a good mix of the stuff that tends to be craved during that time of the month.

I was pleasantly surprised with Bonjour Jolie.  I thought there might be a couple of things besides the feminine items but the box was packed and it really seems like a pamper me box.  The extras are worth $22.00, which means to get what I paid the pads and such needed to be more than $2.50, which they are.  No one is buying this box for the value though.  With a coupon and a trip to the grocery store I can get more products for less but the little helpers are a way to not have to think about the reason for the box.  It’s also one less thing to remember to buy if you have them delivered.
