Benevolent Beauty Box October 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20161028_134128 20161028_134143

This box is small but well packed and has plenty of things inside to keep me happy.

20161028_134149 20161028_134209 20161028_134200

They have a really great info card.  It not only has the items you received but also all the social media and website options.  They tell you all about each item and why it is good for you.

20161028_134332

Ardency Inn Punker Eyes Like Fire Shadow-$21.00

This is a cream eye shadow that has a built in brush to dispense and blend.  It took about 100 cranks to get it to come out but once it started it was easy to brush on.  You are supposed to apply a layer on the eyelid and use your fingers to blend out into the perfect smokey eye.  I suck at smokey eyes and this is a pure black, thick cream.  I may be able to use this for a thick eyeliner but it’s only going to be for Halloween any other time.  I’m not talented enough to make this one work.

20161028_134519

LaRitzy Eyeshadow in Iced Malted-$16.00

I get the LaRitzy sub box so  this is not new to me, however the shade is one I don’t have.  This is a super shimmery rosy bronze.  It is vegan and can be use both wet and dry.  I’m happy with this one.

20161028_134227

Medusa’s Makeup Maracuja Oil-$14.00

This seems like a very small bottle but it turns out you only need 2 drops to do your whole face!  It can be used as your night moisturizer and is good for basically any skin type, body part, and even for massages and insomnia.  I don’t care too much for the scent but it’s not offensive.  It is an oil though so you feel greasy and shiny upon application.

20161028_134536

Modish Polish Nail Polish in And You Are?-$12.00

This is a vegan and 5-free polish.  I love the deep purple creamy colour.  It says that the brush has 398 bristles for smooth application and I’m going to take their word for it.

20161028_134256

Tat2u Makeup Matte Lipstick in New Generation-$16.00

This is a great colour!  It’s described as a light plum and I think it looks good on me.  My lips are a little dry right now, which makes for a bad combo with matte lipstick but once I get that taken care of this is going to become a favourite.

20161028_134457

Tat2u Makeup Lip Pencil in Hyper-$14.00

This is a match to the lipstick.  It is a plum shade that I definitely do not have in my stash.  It glided smoothly and didn’t pull at my lip skin while I was using it.  I don’t use lip liner all that much but there are times when you need that extra staying power it gives.

This box is so good.  I have yet to get one that has items I don’t like. The five items included have a value of $93.00.  I cannot figure out how they are sending out such high value boxes but I love it.   I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy.  This is my last box from them and I’m sad about that but I’ve enjoyed every last one of them.  Right now if you want to sign up you can use the code WELCOME to save 10% off your order.

Benevolent Beauty Box September 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20160927_145501 20160927_145521

Everything arrived safe and sound thanks to those horrible squiggles.  Some items were in zippy bags to protect everything.

20160927_145619 20160927_145629

They have a good info card that tells you what you got, the value, all the social media options for that brand, and a little about each thing.

20160927_151248 20160927_145612

Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in Refined-$15.00

There were four colour options that subscribers could receive and the one I got is a dark navy shade.  It has lots of sparkle but is very dark.  They also sent an instruction card telling you all the ways you can use these powders.  I have received quite a few different products from this brand and they have been great to use.

20160927_151411

Bellapierre Eyeliner Duo-$25.00

This duo has a black liquid liner and a clear liner that you can use with any of the mineral shimmers to create whatever liner colour you want.  This might be a great way to use the dark blue from above.

20160927_145654 20160927_145714

Ecco Bella FlowerColor Lipstick in Primrose-$19.95

This is a lip colour and treatment all in one.  It is made up of vegetable waxes, oils, and mineral pigments.  This colour is like a wine shade and it is perfect for fall.  I thought it was going to be too dark for everyday but it looks really nice on me!

20160927_151234 20160927_145533

Gypsy Soul Organics in Sister Wind-$19.99

This is an aromatherapy spray that is made to energize and awaken.  It is a blend of spearmint, eucalyptus, and basil and is very wonderfully scented.  I’m not sure if you are supposed to spray it on your face or body or just in the air around you but it does make me feel more uplifted smelling it.

20160927_151349 20160927_145545

St.Tropica Hot Oil Hair Mask-$4.50

This is cool!  You microwave the packet and the apply the melted oil to your hair.  It makes your hair stronger, thicker, and more lustrous.  You apply it to dry hair and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight if you have a hair cap.

20160927_151326 20160927_145557

Tat2u Makeup Tat2Lash Mascara-$16.00

This mascara is supposed to give you length and volume that makes you look like you’re wearing falsies, without having to resort to them.  The amount of mascara I’ve been getting in boxes has slowed down, so while I’m still not out by any means I do have room in my bag for another tube.

This box is so good.  I have yet to get one that has items I don’t like. The five items included have a value of $100.  I cannot figure out how they are sending out such high value boxes but I love it.   I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy.  I think this is going to be a great box for me.  Right now if you want to sign up you can use the code WELCOME to save 10% off your order.

Benevolent Beauty Box August 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20160904_173545 20160904_173558

This month looked really full but I had a couple of extra items this month to fill it up.

20160904_173606 20160904_173630 20160904_173622

They have a really detailed info card.  There was also an insert telling me about the bonus item I selected.  You had a choice of a few so everyone may have something different.

20160904_173915

Bellapierre Vanilla Bean Lip Balm-$10.00

This is a nice balm.  I normally don’t go for vanilla scented thing but this one is less fake than others.  You can also use this to mix any of the Bellapierre shimmer powders into and make lip colours.  I will use it plain and it feels good on my lips.  This is a nice item.

20160904_173847

Cougar Products Mineral Blush Powder in Punch-$19.52

So this had powder on the inside but it seems to be still sealed so I’m not sure how that happened.  This is a colour I like.  It goes on me like a natural flush so I’m very happy.  Blushes are always a toss up in boxes because you might not get one that works for you.  I also like that it’s a mineral formula.

20160904_174043

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lip Locked Stain in Lucky-$24.00

This is a full coverage lip product.  The shade is good, not too dark, and it doesn’t feel sticky at all.  This one combines gloss, primer, and stain in one to last for hours while nourishing your lips.

20160904_173803

Nvey Eco Eye Shadow in Mystique-$17.99

There were three possible shades sent out this month and I’m happy with the one I got.  This is a soft grey with almost no shimmer.  It will be a perfect everyday look that I should be able to darken up if I need to be fancier.

20160904_173825

yourMinerals Setting Powder in Transparent Veil-$21.00

This is a new product for me!  You dust this on over your foundation and it acts like a veil, giving you a smooth appearance all day.  I’m all for trying this one and I hope it makes a difference.  It sounds like a great product!

20160904_173714

Bodisafe Lips & Cheeks in Charmed-$20.00

This was a bonus item.  They had been running a promo to give new subscribers a bonus item and then decided to include all their current subscribers as well.  I’m thinking I’ll use this mostly as a cheek tint.  It goes on almost sheer but leaves your skin looking dewy and flushed.

20160904_174009

Red Apple Lipstick in Plum Sexy Crazy

Last month I received a damaged item.  They had no more to send me a replacement so asked if there was another item they could send.  I chose this lipstick.  It’s wonderfully shimmery and not too dark for a plum.

This box is so good.  I have yet to get one that has items I don’t like. The five items included have a value of $92.51 plus the $20 bonus item!

Benevolent Beauty Box July 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20160728_162514

This box ships in a simple but nicely branded box.  It occasionally changes size based on what your receiving, which is a good way to keep stuff from bouncing around in a huge box.

20160728_162535 20160728_162551

They have one of the best info cards for beauty boxes I’ve seen.  They tell you what you’re getting, a little about it, pricing, and all the possible social media options for that brand.

20160728_162841 20160728_162902

Earth’s Beauty Shea & Aloe Lipstick in Summer Quartz-$15.95

This is a 2-in-1 lipstick and moisturizer.  I really like this colour and it goes on easily.  It is just slightly pink and has a slight shimmer that makes it really flattering.

20160728_162644

FACE Atelier Lip Glaze Petite in Cameo-$17.00

This lip gloss is very shiny but not sticky at all.  There were three possible shades sent out and I don’t know what the other ones are but I like the one I got.  This went on smoothly and it a soft pinkish colour.

20160728_162809

Makeup Eraser Mini-$12.00

This cloth is supposed to remove all of your makeup, including waterproof, just by getting it wet with water.  After you use it you can toss it in the washer and reuse it up to 1000 times.  I have a fair amount of cleanser due to boxes but this would be a great thing to take on trips.

20160728_162709

Medusa’s Make-Up Electro Eyeshadow in Electro White-$8.00

This vegan eyeshadow is wonderfully sparkly!  I always use a light coloured shimmer as my base shade and this one fits that perfectly.  I have used this brand before and it is long lasting and well pigmented.

20160728_162614 20160728_162620

Mirabella Mineral Highlighter in Glowing Coral-$40.00

As you can see this did not arrive in the best condition.  I’m actually really sad about that because I think I’d really like this.  I have reached out to them about this and while they do not have another one of these to ship me they are going to send me a replacement product.

20160728_162733

Plain Jane Beauty Concealer Stick in Moonstone-$13.95

This could not have come at a better time.  I have just used up my old concealer and this saves me.  This colour is perfect for me and I think they probably covered most people since there were four shades sent out to subscribers.

This box is so good.  I have yet to get one that has items I don’t like. The five items included have a value of $106.90! I’ve included the broken highlighter since they are going to send me something to replace it.  I cannot figure out how they are sending out such high volume boxes but I love it.   I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy.  I think this is going to be a great box for me.  Right now if you want to sign up you can use the code WELCOME to save 10% off your order.

Benevolent Beauty Box June 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20160628_165140

The box this month was way smaller than last month.  If that makes them easier to ship or cheaper then that’s fine.  It is branded to let you know what you’re getting.

20160628_165154

Box size doesn’t matter when you see that it all fits.  I know that these squiggles are a better choice then styrofoam but I hate them so much.

20160628_165201 20160628_165211

They had to bend the card a little to make it fit on this box but it still tells you about the box plus inside they give you a great amount of information.  Not only do they have the items, but also prices, colours, blurbs, websites, and social media links.  It is one of the most inclusive and complete info cards I’ve ever received in a box.

20160628_165350

Mineral Hygenics Mineral Bronzer in Cool Kiss-$20.00

They sent out two versions of this depending on your skin tone, which I think is great.  I am almost as pale as one can be so I got the Fair to Light skin one.  I don’t normally go for a bronzer because I have issues applying it but I use them as blush.  This shade is fantastic though!  It has a subtle shimmer and is just a few shades darker than my skin tone.  This is also vegan.

20160628_165419

Modern Minerals Eyeshadow in Surya-$12.50

I think mineral makeup is great so getting more is never a problem.  This shadow is listed as a new shade for them and I like it.  It’s a bit of a coppery bronze and has lovely shimmer.  The company does say they make “non-toxic emotion” products so that you feel good about yourself for choosing and wearing them…….whatever that means.

20160628_165325

Saturated Colour Colour Switch-$13.00

So this white lipstick is applied on your lips as a base and then you put any shade you have on top and it changes it.  You can use varying amounts of it to get different shades out of any tube of lipstick.  This seems very cool and I like the idea!

20160628_165446

Terre Mere Matte Lipstick in Someone Special-$39.00

This lipstick goes on very smoothly.  It is vegan and while it is matte is doesn’t have that dry feel that some matte lipsticks do.  It’s not my favourite colour, it’s a little to 1990’s brown but maybe I’ll try it with the colour switch above and get something better.  There is also no way I would ever pay that for a lipstick.

20160628_165243

Terre Mere Bronzer Brush-$34.00

OMG…..this brush is soooooo soft.  I want to just rub it.  It is 100% synthetic hair and promises that it will leave you streak-free.  I really don’t want to sully the pristine white bristles with any makeup.

My second box was just as great as the first.  The five items included have a value of $118.50!

Benevolent Beauty Box May 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20160602_183134

Everything shipped in a smaller, well labeled box.  It wasn’t very heavy but makeup rarely is.

20160602_183147 20160602_183153

Opening up the lid didn’t show me much because of the info card on top but once I got that out of the way I could see a few things nestled into the hated squiggles.

20160602_183201 20160602_183216

The info card tells you how you can get hold of them if you need to plus lists all the items, retail prices, websites and social media, and a little blurb about each one.  This is a highly detailed bunch of information.

20160602_183452

Bellapierre Cosmetics HD Makeup Primer-$75.00

Wow…first out of the box and huge value!!  I didn’t believe it until I went to the website and it’s right.  I love primers and this one has more of a gel like texture to it.  It doesn’t leave your skin looking too matte either and really made a difference in how my pores looked. Yay!!

20160602_183322

Cailyn Cosmetics Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in Hospitable-$19.00

This colour is almost perfectly natural on me.  It took a couple of seconds to dry but I’ll have to see if it lives up to the promise of being all day stayable.  It does feel slightly sticky, which I’m not too thrilled with but I like the colour enough that I’ll use it regardless.

20160602_183520

Gourmet Body Treats Agrimony Eye Cream-$18.00

This is a vegan eye cream that can be used to help dark circles, fine lines, and inflammation.  It is pretty solid in the jar but once you warm it on you finger it melts and becomes spreadable.  Lately Bear has been sleep horribly so I’m happy to give anything a try that might make that less noticeable.  The only thing I don’t like about it is that it has an odd smell but that is minor and barely even can be smelled once you get your nose out of the jar.

20160602_183249

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipstick in Something Witty-$10.00

There were multiple colour options of this sent out and while I don’t know what the other colours look like I think I’d have prefered something beyond this bright pink.  I can wear this colour but just.  It is very 1980’s.  However it smells fantastic.  I don’t know that I’ve ever used a lipstick that smelled so edible before.  This is also a vegan product.

20160602_183353

Vapour Organic Beauty Mesmerize Eyeliner in Truffle-$20.00

This one also had a variance in colours sent out.  I’m thinking the other one is black based on it being called Ink.  I’m quite happy to have got this brown shade though.  I have very few brown liners and I’m not sure why since I think it’s great.  This liner has the smudger on the other end and contains coconut and chamomile to sooth and nourish your eyes as you wear it.

So for my first box from them I am stoked!  The five items included have a value of $142.00!!!! Holy crackerjacks Batman!  I don’t know if that is normal for them or not but this one box actually covered the whole cost of my subscription.  I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy.  I think this is going to be a great box for me.  Right now if you want to sign up you can use the code WELCOME to save 10% off your order.
