BarkBox August 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Block Pawty.

20150830_172709 20150830_172730

The paper has great cartoons and is matched to the theme.  Underneath I can see a good mix of things and that picture is a bit sideways because as I’m trying to take it Archie has his nose on it.

20150830_172741 20150830_172755

The card has another fun cartoon and inside is the list of items and also where to find a pup approved playlist.

20150830_172946

Butcher’s Block LLC Beef Pizzle-$3.00

These might be one of Archie’s favorite treats.  He gobbles them up really fast though so he might get one every couple of months.  If you don’t know a pizzle is dried bull penis.  It’s a better alternative them rawhide, most of which is processed and bleached and full of chemicals.

20150830_173111

Wagatha’s Maple Bacon Dog Biscuits-$9.00

These are made with organic ingredients and Vermont bacon.  They smell mostly of cinnamon and are bone shaped.  Archie was waiting at my elbow as I typed this out so that he could have one and his patience was rewarded.

20150830_173102

The Crump Group, Inc. Beef Tendersticks-$8.00

These are dog jerky made from beef lungs.  We had some lamb lung ones a few boxes ago and those were well liked (by the dogs, I was grossed out touching them) so I think these will also be a hit.

20150830_172935

Simply Fido Hot Dog-$11.00

This toy is made from organic cotton, is non-toxic, filled with recycled fibres and is environmentally friendly somehow.  It has ropes for tugging and also has a squeaker inside it.  It’s a cute way to reinforce the theme.

20150830_172959

Delca Corporation Watermelon-$11.00

Another squeaker toy this month.  Archie loves his toys and while he will have to wait to play with this one since the girls are asleep already I think he’ll be happy.

This months box was really good for Archie.  He got two new toys he likes and two treats and one snack.  The value of the box is $42.00 and that’s great.  It’s great to go out on a high note.  This was our last box from BarkBox and we’ve enjoyed our year of boxes.  Archie got a steady stream of tos so he was never without something to chew on and we have a small stockpile of treats for both pups.  I did not renew his box, rather I will be trying a new pet box out but I would recommend them if you want a box with a good mix.

Bark Box July 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Circus.

20150725_180058

The box was different again this month but I’ve decided that they, unlike some others, change the box to be whatever size they need for the month.

20150725_180132 20150725_180121

The info card folds out giving you the list of stuff you got plus a discount on a monitoring service for your pet.

20150725_180311

Butcher’s Block LLC Trachea Chew-$3.00

This item was a gift to us from Voyce, the monitoring service advertised.  Archie has had these before and LOVES them.  I think they are kind of gross but since they keep him happy and don’t make much of a mess I will give them to him whenever I get one.

20150725_180256

Nootie No Grainers Hickory Bacon Jerky Chews-$10.00

We really appreciate grain free treats in this house and these ones are made with chicken.  They are a nice size for a treat and Archie gobbled up the one I gave him for a taste test.

20150725_180225

Feel Good Treat Company Trail Blazin Beef Bitz-$8.00

These only have three ingredients, beef liver, oat flour & olive oil.  They are a hard treat that requires crunching but still only last 1.5 seconds before I’m getting eyed up for more.

20150725_180201

BarkMade Benji The Bouncing Tiger-$13.00

This soft and fuzzy little guy has a spring in the middle and a squeaker in his head.  He also has a ball squeaker in his bottom.  We were in need of a new toy so this one got snapped up as soon as possible.

20150725_180213

BarkMade Circus Elephant-$13.00

This toy has a squeaker in his belly and I’m sure the tail and nose will be gone within 5 minutes.  However he is cute and the kids will steal him for a bit.

This months box was really good for Archie.  He got two new toys he likes and two treats and one snack.  The value of the box is $47.00 and that’s great.  We only have one box left from them and I’m still undecided about renewing but I would recommend them if you are looking for a way to spoil your pooch.

Bark Box June 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Space.

20150622_180825

The box was changed up this month, it’s now wider and flatter then it was.  The paper also matches the theme and is basically awesome as usual.

20150622_180845 20150622_180853

The info card got an upgrade as well this month.  It has the same stuff as before and also some info on Bark Live which is a meet up put on by them.

20150622_180925

BarkMade Flying Saucer-$12.00

This is a weird one.  It has a squeaker in the blue top part but the grey saucer base is hard inside.  Archie will love it once I give it to him but since the babies are sleeping there is a ban on squeaky toys for now.

20150622_180916

West Paw Tizzi-$18.00

This frog looking thing is a cross between a Kong and chew toy.  It is non-toxic and floats….which we’ll never find out about since Archie hates water….hates.  He doesn’t seem to interested in it so far but I have plans to stick a few treats inside and that should do the trick.

20150622_181003

Barkworthies Lamb Lung Chips-$8.00

These all natural treats are low fat, high protein and have Vitamin A in them. They stink and Archie loves them.  He does need to take a few minutes to chew one up, which is nice but they are not a long time, keep him busy chew.

20150622_180953

BarkMade Space Rover Bandana-$7.00

This is cute!  Archie doesn’t seem to mind when we put a bandana on him so this one will join the rotation.  It’s plenty big enough even for his large neck and chest, which I’m happy about.

This month had a value of $45.00 and four items again.  The two toys are fun ones that should get played with and the treats are a hit!  The bandana is more for my enjoyment then his but since I think it’s cool I’m happy.  We only have a couple of months left for this subscription but I have been very happy with it.  The toys and treats have been high quality and I think there might have only been one or two that were not played with.

Bark Box May 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Garden Pawty.

20150612_134335

They changed up the paper this month.  It’s always cute and fun and this time is no different.

20150612_134352 20150612_134358

The card describes the theme and the back has all your items and how to reorder the ones you can’t live without.

20150612_134408

Inside that paper was a box full of spring like goodies for Archie.  I can see a couple of toys and some treats.

20150612_134530

Etta Says Rabbit Chew-$3.00

Archie loves these chews and I like that it’s not rawhide, which gives him some tummy troubles.  This is a 7″ chew which won’t last too long but it’s a nice treat for him.

20150612_134519

Plato Pet Treats Farmer’s Market-$8.00

These treats are made with salmon and vegetables.  They have no grain, corn, wheat, or soy in them and also have added probiotics for healthy digestion.  They are a cookie like treat and a nice size that I can give to both pups.

20150612_134452

Jax and Bones Rope Flower-$13.00

This toy is made for serious chewers and Archie is that.  Unfortunately one of the petals came loose in about 5 seconds.  The toy is still good but I don’t think it will last too long if it begins to unravel.  I’m sad because rope toys are Archie’s second favourite type.

20150612_134435

R2P Ladybug Silly Bum-$10.00

This toy has crinkles in the wings and a squeaker in the bum.  It oddly has no head but less things that can be chewed off in our house is a good thing.

20150612_134507

Nootie Peanut Butter Pleasers-$7.00

These are little peanut shaped treats.  They are moist instead of crunchy.  They are also grain free but do have yeast which Freckles is a bit sensitive to.  As long as she only eats a couple though she’ll be fine.

This months box was back to five items and a value of $41.00.  We are getting a good stock of treats from this one and the toys are usually destroyed in a few months but that says everything about our dog, not the quality of the toys sent.  We have tried those indestructible toys that are super expensive and they only last a couple of days as well.

Bark Box April 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Fitness.

20150429_203625 20150429_203635

The info card has one of the awesome cartoons on the front and the back has the products and reorder numbers.

20150429_203718

Yeti Corporation Large Yak Chew-$11.00

This is a hard cheese chew.  It’s made from yak and cows milk.  It sounds completely bizarre and I’m sure Archie will love it.  It promises to be non staining and with minimal odor, which would be a good thing.

20150429_203653

Hueter Toledo Gripper Softflex Bestball-$9.00

This is a squeaker toy that looks like a kettle ball.  It’s cute and I know there will be some good tug of wars with it till we chew through it.

20150429_203730

Sojo’s Simply Lamb Treats-$10.00

These are freeze dried meat cubes.  The only ingredient is lamb and since we are watching my mom’s dog right now as well all three of the pups like these.

20150429_203704

Kyjen Tuff Guys Mat-$10.00

This guy has squeakers, crinkles, and stuffing for the ultimate playing trio.  I give him till the end of today before parts of him are missing.  He’s pretty awesome though.  Full hairy back as well.

This is the first time I’ve only received four items in the box.  There is still a $40 value to all of these toys and treats.  I like that they send treats that are completely natural.  The toys are good this month too.  We’re about halk way done with this subscription and while I am uncertain about renewing it I think it is a good box.

Bark Box March 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Movie Night!

20150407_160150

I was surprised by the decidedly phallic item first thing but the rest looked fun.

20150407_160200

As always the cartoons are the best.  On the back of the card are the products and the codes to reorder from the store if you want.

20150407_160249

Hyper Pet Dura-Squeaks-$16.00

This green monster is a non-toxic durable squeak toy.  It doesn’t seem to matter where you squeeze it it squeaks.  It also floats but we’ll never test that out since Archie hates water….

20150407_160233

Healthy Dogma Bacon Hearts-$8.00

Beyond the bacon part these are entirely made of vegetables.  Archie has eaten tin cans before so that won’t matter but at least I can feel better about giving him something healthy.

20150407_160319

Nature’s Bits Salmon Recipe-$8.00

These treats are grain and gluten free.  They also have strawberries and sweet potatoes with the salmon.  They are softer then a regular biscuit but I still wouldn’t say they are soft soft.  They do have a cute paw print on the top though.

20150407_160217

Pet Qwerks Pawpcorn-$10.00

This is another squeaker.  This one will have a much shorter life then the other.  I’m glad for the new one each month because Archie has a kill instinct for stuffed toys.

20150407_160309

Yeti Corp Golden Nugget-$8.00

These are actually microwave treats for the dog.  You nuke them for 45 seconds and then let them cool a bit and give them to your pup.  They puff up about double size.  The are made from yak and cow milk, salt and lime juice.  It sounds so odd but it’s nice that the list of ingredients is so small.

This was back to being a good box this month for Archie.  The issues I had last month with the stuff seeming like it was for a smaller dog are not there this time.  Two toys and three treats is a good balance for us.  Also the treats are sized well for both of our dogs.

BarkBox February 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came today and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house. The theme this month is Mardi Gras!

20150221_141545

I could see a few colourful items and a bag of treats once I got it open.

20150221_141557

The info card lists the item, their retail price, and a code for reordering from their store if your pup just needs more!

20150221_141730

Delca Jester Ball-$9.00

This is a squeaky ball with crinkles in the hat points.  Archie seems to like it but it has not been his most favorite toy we’ve got from them.

20150221_141706

Etta Says Chicken Pot Pie Little Bitz-$9.00

These are super tiny little treats.  They are smaller then a dime in diameter and sort of soft.  The are grain free and 100% organic.  Archie likes them but because they are so small I think that we will use these for Freckles instead.

20150221_141641

Aussie Naturals Salmon Half Cigar-$5.00

This was the first thing Archie went for once I opened the box.  Surprisingly it took him a few minutes to actually chomp it down.  It is just the skin of the fish with no flesh attached so I thought it would be gone in one bite.

20150221_141606

New Angle Pet Junior Gulpy-$9.00

This is one of those things I see and think I should buy and never do.  As long as I can remember to bring it along this will make doggy drinks so much easier then pouring it into my hand and hoping he gets a few licks before it drips out.

20150221_141653

Petsafe Catfish Po’Boy with Chicken-$7.00

These are jerky treats made from fresh meat.  Once they are open they need to be refrigerated because they will go bad.  The packaging is right on for the theme this month.  They are only about 2 inches long.

This box was not one of the best we have received from BarkBox but Archie still liked everything in it.  I think the main issues I have with it is that some of the items are for a smaller dog and we are set up to get the biggest dog size they offer.  Right now they have offered me a deal if you want to sign up for your pup you can get one month free!  If you would like to get this just shoot me an email and I can get you the link you need for your free box!!!!

BarkBox January 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came today. The theme this month is Ice Age!

20150126_100811 20150126_100838

I know I say it each time but I just love the paper!  I think it’s so cute and fun and it makes my day when I see it.  Underneath I couldn’t tell too much beyond a snowflake.

20150126_100855

The reverse of the card lists the items included along with their retail prices and codes to use if you want to order them again.

20150126_100919

Caru Real Pork Stew-$6.00

Neither of our dogs really eat soft food but I think I will feed it to our older dog who recently had all but 6 of her teeth pulled.  She eats dry kibble fine but this will be a nice treat for her.

20150126_100958

Aussie Naturals Salmon Skins-$8.00

These smell. A lot. Right through the sealed bag.  I know many people feed their dogs fish parts because of how good they are for their coats but I am having a crazy recoil reaction to actually having to touch these even though I’m not normally squeamish at all.  I think it’s the smell, kind of a bad fish ick thing.  I’ll just get Hubby to do it as I have complete faith that Archie will love them.

20150126_100908

BarkMade Snowflake-$11.00

This toy has squeakers in a few of the points and crinkles in the others.  Archie has given it a few chews but now the baby has decided it should be her toy so I’ll have to give it more time to see if this one is a win or not.

20150126_100931

Butcher’s Block Bones Trachea-$2.00

Yes you read that right….it’s an actual trachea.  It looks so disgusting but I give it a five minute time frame to be devoured.

20150126_100947

Max & Ruffy’s Blizzard Bites-$5.00

These are a molasses and ginger flavored dog biscuit.  They totally smell like a gingersnap and look a bit like one too.  They are wheat. corn, soy and GMO free and anything in them is organic. Archie had a taste and likes them.

This was another good box from them, filled with things the dogs like.  It’s nice to get a new toy each month since that’s about the time it takes for Archie to destroy the previous one.  If you’d like to try out BarkBox send me a message and I can email you a link to get a FREE!!! box for yourself.

Bark Box December 2014 & Advent Day 17

Archie’s BarkBox came today.

20141216_130209 20141216_130226

This month the theme is Happy Pawlidays and even from first peek I knew it was awesome! The wrapping paper is changed up again for the season.

20141216_130241 20141216_130252

The info card.  I know I say it every time but  I love the cartoons.

20141216_130313

BarkMade Yuletide Log-$12.00

This toy has a giant squeaker in it.  Like the whole size of the log squeaker. It’s a win for Archie. He sometimes takes a few minutes to decide on a toy but not this one. It was grab and chew instantly.

20141216_130348

Bocce’s Bakery Lumps Of Coal-$7.00

I really like that this box usually gives treats that are good for the dogs.  These heart shaped biscuits have no preservatives, chemicals, by-products, wheat, fillers or broths, and corn.  All of the things that cause reactions in dogs are not here so I don’t have to worry about them being itchy or getting upset bellies from anything.  That these have charcoal in them to help with doggy breath is a bonus.

20141216_130405

My Doggy Happy Holidays My Doggy Treats-$5.00

It says these are soft-baked cookies but they are hard. Not that it matters to an 80 pound dog who has eaten an pop can before….. These are also wheat, corn and preservative free.

20141216_130330

Quaker Elf-$10.00

This is so cute I don’t even want to give it to him.  It was no where near as sought after as the log but Archie still likes it.  Just one small squeaker in the belly on this one.

20141216_13042120141216_133049 20141216_133121

Safemade Holiday Tartan Bandana 22″x22″-$8.00

Much to Archie’s chagrin, I make him wear bandanas and holiday collars or even reindeer horns if he’s too worn out to shake them off so this is good.  It has red and white stripes on the back side so it could even be reversible and it’s big enough for his fat neck.  I like to put them at a jaunty angle.

I like this box.  The holiday theme is fantastic, the toys are great and the treats liked by the pups. The box had a value of $42.00.  Merry Christmas to all your pups and other pets!

In my advent calendars today it received,

20141217_090215 20141217_090243

another non-cosmetic item from Benefit, a doodle pad, and Moringa Body Milk from the Body Shop.  The little pad does open up to blank pages, teeny, tiny, blank pages but I guess it will be useful.  I know I’ve said in other posts how much I love stationary and my Hubby can attest to it being a bit of an addiction, but I feel a little ripped off every time I don’t get makeup from Benefit.  This advent calendar was over a hundred dollars and I don’t think I’d buy it again.  The Body Shop one was $50 and the sample sizes have been way bigger and everyday has been an actual Body Shop product. Speaking of which, the body milk is a lightweight lotion that really does look like milk.  It is very runny but absorbs quickly, is not greasy and smells nice. It’s the definite winner today.

Bark Box November 2014

Archie’s BarkBox came today. The theme of the month is “Bone-appetit”.

20141126_131357 20141126_131408

The regular wrapping paper is back.  I was sad when the info card had only four items this month but then realized that there was no more room for anything in the box.

20141126_131423 20141126_131439

Along with the info card this month was another card telling us all about their new online shop and including a code for $10 off any purchase. As usual I love the cartoons!

20141126_131538

Petsafe Squeak N’ Treat Booya-$13.00

You can put treats in the top this and the other end squeaks.  Archie was a bit freaked out by the rubber smell but I did stuff some treats in there and it’s all good now.  He is so far not able to get them out so this actually is better for him then I thought.  It says it is good for heavy chewers so I’m hopeful it will not be destroyed too quickly.

20141126_131504

Wagatha’s Kitchen Sink Organic Dog Biscuits-$5.00

These doggy treats are full of so many things I didn’t even think you could get in organic, like spices and flour.  Archie and Freckles both like them so it’s a win.

20141126_131614

Petmate Chef Heggies-$10.00

This has a plastic bottle inside of it to make a crazy crinkly noise.  Unfortunately it has many little bits that stick out and give plenty of places to gnaw off.  I foresee a  quick but painful death to this cute hedgehog.

20141126_131452

Feel Good Treat Company Slow Roasted Rosemary Turducken-$6.00

These treats are made up from turkey, chicken, and duck livers flavoured with rosemary.  Gross to me, yum to the dogs.

This was a good box for Archie.  He has been working on the treat squeaker for 15 minutes so far and shows no sign of giving up.  The other treats are liked by both dogs and while the hedgehog probably won’t last too long, at least it’s not filled with stuffing.

You can check them out at http://www.barkbox.com/
