Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box April 2018

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies.  There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes.  Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there.  Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month.  I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books.  They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.

The flat box showed up around the same time again this month.  It looked a little messy inside but it does travel a long way to get here.

This month’s book is Kasia’s Surprise.  It is a novel about the summer break from school and the adventures of Kasia during that time.  It has a few Polish words and looks to be a good chapter book right at Bug’s current reading level.  It also has some images in the book to help with grasping the storyline.

20180501_141459

I can’t remember what this little lizard guys name is, but he is very cute.  I see my girls playing with the Ooshies they have previously received all the time so that is a good thing.  So many little toys get played with and tossed aside.

20180501_141328

The pencil crayon of the month is a lovely orange one and the sticker is there as normal.

Our four mystery items this month are a package of animal print scissors, a pack of Shopkins Trading cards (the kids love this game), Frozen Best Friends Necklace set, and a Frozen jewelry set that includes ring, bracelets, and necklaces.  We used to have scissors in this house, no clue where they ended up so getting more is a needed item.  There are lots of pieces of jewelry for the girls so there should be less fighting than normal…..who am I kidding?

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the crayons and pencils, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box March 2018

We got this box on time, so now I really don’t know what happened to the last one that took so long.  I could see from the first glance that this was going to be another good one.

The book this month is going to be a huge hit!  Bug has been obsessed with these Fairy books and we now own so many of them.  Luckily this is not one of the ones we’ve found.  Ruth the Red Riding Hood Fairy is book 4 of the Storybook Fairies collection.

20180323_181816

Our Ooshie this month is Cyborg.  He’s adorable and I love him.  He’s a good character and this one will join the princesses in the castle or the Lego house that’s being created.

20180323_181745

Purple pencil crayon and sticker.  I find random things with these stickers on them throughout the house.

The mystery items have hit it out of the park one more time.  We have a Frozen necklace that has sparkles that move around, Shopkins Trading Card Game pack, Shopkins Barrettes, a Frozen coin purse, and an Elsa tiara.  I can only envision fights happening but all of these things are going to be hot commodities in our house.  They really do know the crowd they are packing for and we have yet to get a box of things no one wants to play with or use.  It’s uncanny.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box February 2018

This box showed up really late but yet it shows it was mailed on 1 February so I don’t know what happened to it.  The first look is full of things I know the girls will enjoy so let’s dig in.

20180309_193216

The book this month is Comings and Goings at Parrot Park and it’s about Canadians that come visiting. I think it’s very fun that they added a book about Canadians to this UK box shipping to Canada.  The level of this book is one that Bug can read on her own and it also has lots of pictures if she gets stuck and needs a clue.

20180309_193207

This Ooshie is Firestorm.  We’ve seen him on Justice League cartoons and he’s a cute as all the rest of the ones we’ve received.  These get played with all the time and it’s great to get more for the collection.

20180309_193235

We got the grey pencil this time to join the rest.  There is also the sticker.  Still no more postcards so I guess they’ve stopped including them.

There is a stack of the mystery items this month!  We have a few favourites that appear all the time, like the Princess cards.  The other things we received are a Shopkins headband, a Shimmer and Shine bracelet, Shimmer and Shine hair ties, Trolls barrettes, and a sticker book about Bugs.  Both my girls have long hair so all the hair accessories are perfect.  I find the bug book creep but anything with stickers is a win in their eyes.  It’s still kinda freaky how well they know their targets and gives us exactly things that we can use or that are what the kids love.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box January 2018

20180119_192835

This month the book is one the kids have never read before.  The My Favourite Fairytales series has been sent to us before and they are great stories, engagingly written.  These ones are at a level that Bug can ready with only a little help, so that is a bonus also.

20180119_192851

Once again there are no postcards but we got a navy blue pencil crayon and the sticker as normal.

20180119_192722

Our Ooshie is Clark Kent, with just a hint of Superman peeking out.  I feel like maybe he glows in the dark but we’ll have to wait a few hours to see if that happens.

Our selection of mystery items is amazing again this month.  First up was a Littlest Pet Shop Pets In The City blind bag.  Then there are tow Tsum Tsum, Chip from Chip & Dale and Mike from Monsters Inc.  Mike is Bears favourite character so she’s going to be thrilled.  The three little coloured animals are shaped crayons.  I think they are super cute and I can’t believe there is no damage to them or breaks for the distance they traveled and the fact there is no real padding in the box.  Next up is a Kylo Ren wristband.  I think my husband might actually steal this as he’s a big fan.  We have a Legend slap bracelet and a Barbie pencil case. These are both going to go over hugely.  It’s also great that they can store all the treasures they have in random corners and boxes and bags.  We finish off with another package of Disney Princess Trading Cards.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box December 2017

This box showed up well before Christmas and it’s my fault for not getting the post up.  This box had become one of my girls favoutites and I am glad to see it each month, as it gives them a bunch of things that make them happy and keep them occupied.

20180114_193821

The book this month is Rainbow Magic Kathryn The PE Fairy.  We have received other books in this series from them before and while they are just above Bug’s reading on her own level, she tries and gets most words or we read them together.  This one is about finding a lost magical star badge before it all goes sideways if the inspector arrives.  The inner pages are a little damaged but I think it might have just been from a few of the other things shifting around and it’s not critical.

20180114_193752

Our Ooshie this time is Batman!  He’s amazing and we love him.  These toys end up joining all the princesses and LOL dolls and living in some seriously palatial places.  I like that they are squishy and no one gets hurt when they inevitably fly at heads.

20180114_193812

There were no postcards this time but we did get the pencil and sticker.  I like that they send a different colour of pencil each time. Bug has also managed to master the pencil sharpener so they are shrinking at an amazing rate.

The extras are very Xmas themed, as they should be for a December box.  We have a sheet of Elf puffy stickers, a glitter glue set (what are they thinking????!!!! No parent wants glitter in their house), Elf paper straws, Elf caution tape, a package of Disney Princess trading cards, and a set of Novelty Christmas Rubbers, as the bag said. To be honest, I can’t stop giggling after typing that since rubbers here have a somewhat different meaning then they do in the UK.  No one said you were going to get mature on this blog.  This is a great mix of things and the girls will be so happy to explore and play with them.

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the postcards, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box November 2017

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items.

The box was big again but it’s still thin so it easily fits in my mailbox.  Once I opened it I could see all kinds of fun Halloween items.  This box arrived before Halloween so there is no issue with that, I’m just a little later getting the review done!

They have a card in the box and it lists all the social media links for Fred’s Box and a code for a discount.

The book we received this month is How The World Began by Fiona Macdonald.  It seems to be a little above in reading level then we have been getting but that is not a problem.  This book is a collection of stories and myths from different cultures that explain the beliefs about how Earth was created.  This one is going to be a good book to make my girls think and to show them a broader range of cultures then we might normally.

20171105_193824 (1)

The Ooshie is Wonder Woman!  How great is that?  These things are so freaking cute and my kids love them.  Superheros are still a big part of their play and they add in these little guys with their bigger dolls and go from there.

We got a brown pencil crayon this month, we’ll have a complete set by the time this is done!  There is also the standard name sticker and postcards, only two this month instead of the normal four.

There are so many mystery items this month!!!!!!!!!  It’s a serious haul of Halloween and play items.  Half of me wants to hide away the things that are not themed and use them as stocking stuffers.  I should but I’m too excited to see the reactions to the things to do that.  We received this month, a Littlest Pet Shop blind bag, Halloween Glow Rings (we have a glow stick every night, HOW DO THEY KNOW?????), a Paw Patrol Bracelet, Paw Patrol Hair Ties (all the girls in this house have waist-length hair, again how do they know?), Shopkins Top Trumps cards, Disney Princess Trading Cards, Halloween Nail Tattoos,  and Halloween Window Clings.  Every single one of these things is going to be a hit.  The kids are obsessed with Shopkins and all things card game related.  Having their nails done is a special treat that happens way less then they ask for it to.  Once again I am astounded at the items we received and the amazing ability they have to put together a box that is full of the things my kids are into at this moment.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box October 2017

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items. This box is much better preserved as I got to it first!  It’s a little closer to what you can expect when you get your box.  I can tell right off the bat this one is going to be another winner.

20171011_184959

The book this month is a classic fairytale, Rapunzel.  With the amount of joy that comes from the Tangled series and movie, this story is a good fit.  It is also a good book for Bug’s reading level as the words are large and clearly printed so we can work on her reading skills as we go.

20171011_184900

The Ooshie is cute and I have no clue who he is.  He has a cape and an arrow on his head.  He also looks kinda pink instead of red but that could be the lights in the house.  He looks grumpy too so maybe he’s a villain.  If anyone can help me out, please do!

20171011_184949

We are back to having a pencil crayon in the box.  Teal is my favourite colour.  There are the postcards to fill in too.  There are four of them each time I just stack them to get the picture.

The mystery items are off the hook! We have a Frozen headband, a package of Scented Glitter Gel Pens, Frozen Barrettes, a pack of Disney Princess Trading Cards, and a My Little Pony blind bag.  It’s so insane!! I’m now 100% convinced they have a device that is reading my kids minds from all the way of in Britain.  The hair items are needed because my kids lose them like crazy, they love blind bags to the point that they watch the ridiculous opening videos online ALL THE TIME, and more Princess cards are wanted daily.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box September 2017

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items.

If you can’t tell this month the girls got to the box before I was home and so I think this is everything that should be in there.  Nothing has packages anymore so I’m going to wing it.

20171019_193502

We got another pack of Disney Princess Trading Cards.  The girls love them and I am happy to have another pack to add to their collection.

20171019_193532

We have the always included postcards and pencil.  This month it is not a pencil crayon but a regular pencil.  It is still embossed with the box name and the girls like to have things that are just for them.

The other extra surprises this month are a slap bracelet, a Littlest Pet Shop toy, a Carebear bag hanger, and a collection of Shopkins rings.  All of these things are stuff that they like.  I know I say it every time but the people who curate this box KNOW kids.

20171019_193607

The Ooshie we got is the Penguin.  He’s so adorable and I sorta want to steal him and never have the girls know that he came to our house.  These little guys can go on the top of pencils or just be played with and squished as they are.

20171019_193730

We have had lots of enjoyment out of the books they have sent in the past and I like that they are slowly moving forward in reading level for Bug as well.  This one is for Early Readers and it is third in the Rainbow Magic Series.  It is Emily The Emerald Fairy.  It is a continuation of the series we received last month.

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the postcards, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box August 2017

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items.

The box is so slim and fits easily into my mailbox.  Inside this month was an extra tissue to jazz up the box upon opening.

They do have a card in the box but it is telling you Thank You and listing all of their social media links, not the items in the box.

This month the book is  Clare the Caring Fairy from the Rainbow Magic series.  This book is a little more advanced than the ones we’ve received before, but as Bug has just had a birthday I think it will be good.  It’s a chapter book so we can read one a night and it’ll give her a taste of things to come when she’s reading independently.   This book is about caring for others and friendship which are good topics to remember as we go to school in a few weeks.

20170803_190455 (1)

Our Ooshie is Batman.  He’s awesome, even if my picture taking sucked on this one.  The girls have been loving these and they mix them into their Shopkins for some cross-play.

There is the coloured pencil and postcards so you can have some creativity with your play.  Bug usually draws a picture on the back of the cards and that works fine too.

There is a tonne of mystery items this time!  We have another package of Princess cards, a silicone snap bracelet, some My Little Pony barrettes, Finding Dory Old Maid card game, and a Minions blind bag.  I am starting to think the people who make this box have bugged my house.  The girls are addicted to card games right now, we always need more barrettes with two long haired kids, Princesses are a win all the time, and Minions make everything better.  They really do know their audience and send out things that are used and coveted.

The box is the same as last month, including the sticker letting us know whose box this really is.

20170629_151631

Rapunzel and the Billy Goats

The book this month is another Fairytale Jumble mixing the stories of Rapunzel and Billy Goats Gruff.  This is a book that is made for beginning readers.  It is in the second to the last tier of the reading levels for this series.  Bug is not reading on her own yet but she does recognise words and it’s good to add a new book to her collection.

20170629_151553

Hologram Harley Quinn Ooshie

I’m happy to have received a Rare one and a female one as well. She is a squishy little character that can also be used as a pencil topper.  My girls are very into superheroes and their associated villains so this little blind bag item will make their day.

This month has a pink pencil crayon and four postcards that can be decorated by the kids.

The mystery items this time are a Tsum Tsum Mickey and Minnie Mouse Friendship Necklace Set, Thumper and Chip Tsum Tsum figures, Shopkins barrettes, and another pack of Disney Princess Trading Cards.  We haven’t been sucked into the Tsum Tsum craze here, though we have watched the cartoon so the girls will be happy to get these ones.  The barrettes are always needed here and I’m thinking there will be a fight for these.  The last pack of Princess cards went over super well so adding to them will bring squeals of joy.
