Glorious Life Soap Of The Month May 2017

Glorious Life is a Canadian company that makes handcrafted soap, skin, and body care products.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  They make all their items in small batches and they are free from synthetic dyes and fragrances, preservatives, parabens, and phthalates.  They are all gluten free and most of them are vegan as well.  They offer 4, 6, and 12-month subscriptions, starting at $25.00, including shipping to Canada.  I was looking for something different and was happy to stumble across this one.

Since they ship this sub in a normal envelope they wrap the bar of soap in cardstock before sticking it in there to keep it safe.  The owner adds a little note on it each month.

Activated Charcoal Soap-$2.25

This soap is from their Natural line.   Charcoal is commonly used as a detoxifier.  This helps to make a great facial bar as well as a hand and body bar.  With summer almost here and being outside more anything that can keep my skin looking good in fewer clothes is more than welcome.

I’m really glad to support a Canadian company and enjoy handcrafted bath products.  This is an inexpensive way to get a great selection of soaps and after browsing their site there is definitely a few soaps I’m hoping will show up in my mailbox.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get 15% off your purchase and they have also sent me a code to get 3% off any further purchases from the site.

MayaMade Herbal C.S.A Herb and Soap Of The Month March 2017

MayaMade is another of my Etsy finds.  They use Community Supported Agriculture model to produce and share their products.  Each month you will receive 2 bars of soap and one bonus bar in winter. All soaps are 7oz.  They are handcrafted with organic oils and botanicals.  You can also request them to send out specific soaps from their collection if you don’t want to have that surprise.  This one is $13.32 including shipping a month. Well, let’s see what soaps we ended up with this time.

Inside of a bubble mailer was this wrapped parcel of soap.

Water Deep-$9.09

What is up with all the patchouli this month?  This one is a patchouli and orange blend.  It also has some pink clay in it, which is giving it a slight pinkish tone near the top.  I don’t mind the smell, the orange cuts the patchouli really well so you won’t smell like a crazy hippy.

Solstice Night-$9.09

This one is lavender scented and I love it.  On the top of it, you can just see there are crumbled amber resin.  That in itself is very cool and with it being a smell I love, this bar is a win all around.

This one has the biggest soaps of all the ones I get.  The value is $18.18.  They have a few different plans if you want to get some of their other products as well.  I have no idea how we’re going to use all this soap up each month!

Real Soaps Soap Of The Month May 2017

Real Soaps is a company out of Chicago making handmade soaps and natural body care products.  They don’t use any sulphates, parabens, phthalates and are cruelty-free. They also have no dyes, preservatives, or artificial ingredients and only pure essential oils for scents.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  You can buy individual soaps or they have six and twelve-month plans starting at $47.00 and shipping to Canada was under $20 for the whole term.  I’m not sure why I’m on a soap kick lately but they are fun to get.

Well, that picture turned out fuzzy, didn’t it?  This is the mailer bag that the soap ships in, with their little Thank You on the back.

I love the care they take in the packaging of this soap.  It’s simple but so effective and I think it looks great.  The soap this month is Patchouli Orange Tea Scrub.

Those flecks that you see in there is organic black tea.  That’s what’s doing the exfoliating on your skin.  It also has cocoa butter for your skin.  The patchouli oil has lots of good things going for it such as being an anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, and deodorizing.  Basically, this soap will cure all your ails while making your skin better than it was.

I am always looking for bath type products and soap is such an easy way to shake up your routine.  I tend to not share these with my family but it I find a scent that is too strong or not to my liking then I give it to my hubby who is less picky.  That won’t be happening with this one!

They once again missed sending a box to me so, but a quick email to the seller on Etsy and they shipped me out a few months at the same time.  I have no idea which soaps belong to each month so I’ll just lay them out here in the order I pulled them out of the bag.

Kaolin & Peppermint Soap-$9.09

This soap smells nice.  It’s not heavy on the peppermint but still has something other than a soap scent.  This one is going to be on the keeper list.

20170512_154308

Rosemary & Mint Seaweed Soap-$9.09

This soap has a hint of green to it from the seaweed but still has the peppermint scent to it.  The rosemary makes it a comforting smell to me and I like it.

20170512_154315

Activated Charcoal Soap-$9.09

Activated charcoal is great for detoxing so this soap not only cleans your skin but is good for it as well.  This is a whole body soap and will leave you soft and moisturized.

This one has the biggest soaps of all the ones I get.  The value is $27.27.  They have a few different plans if you want to get some of their other products as well.  I have no idea how we’re going to use all this soap up each month!

Bitchy Box TOM April 2017

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

This box is so fun to get each month!  It’s completely useless from a practical standpoint but the joy it brings to me with the things in it makes it so worth it.

They have an info card in the box.  On the front, it has the theme, Womb Warrior, and the list of items included.  The middle and back have recipes for drinks and food that would be perfect for that time.

Harebrained “Fire & Blood” Period Panties-$12.00

These are a play on Game Of Thrones and they are fantastic.  While I know that I might eventually get bored, so far getting two pairs of these has been amazing!  They are a great panty and give you the granny panty you want for that week but with a super fun design that shows your personality.

Miss Selby’s Soap Dragon’s Blood Bath Bomb-$7.00

I love bath bombs and this one is a big one.  It is a blend of amber, incense, vanilla, patchouli, rose, jasmine, and lilac.  It says it will turn your water a deep red/black colour.  It has skin softening oils in it and says it will add a glow to it as well.

Hot Tamales Licorice Bites-$?

These are something I’ve never seen before but I think I will like them.  I’m hoping they are going to be like a Big Foot candy.  I enjoy licorice in all it’s forms so this is a good addition to the box for me.

20170430_184204

I Heart Guts Uterus Sticker-$0.47

This sticker is so awesome.  I really don’t know where I can use it but I want to.  It’s very fun.

20170430_184222

Ferrara Candy Atomic Fireballs-$0.23 x 6

I have had these candies before but they are not my favourite.  These will be put aside until that one day when I have nothing else to satisfy any sugar cravings.

This month had another great selection of things.  I think that they really nailed the theme this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  The value this month is $20.85 plus the licorice.  That is less than I pay for the box, which is disappointing but is starting to be a pattern.

This month, since everything went as it was supposed to, the one bar of soap is Bliss.  This one is a blend of lavender, orange, geranium, jasmine, and white pepper.  You would think will all that going on it would be overpowering but it’s not.  I like this smell and it says it will help to achieve the perfect level of happiness.  This soap is nice and I think it’ll move up the pile to get used.

I am always looking for bath type products and soap is such an easy way to shake up your routine.  I tend to not share these with my family but it I find a scent that is too strong or not to my liking then I give it to my hubby who is less picky.  That won’t be happening with this one!

There was a little note tucked into the envelope this month.  It turns out that the USPS lost a whole bunch of things and February’s soap was part of that.  This month gives us two soaps and a bonus item for any inconvenience.

February’s soap is a Rosemary & Lavender blend.  It has antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.  It is also calming and relaxing.  It smells great and I will be using this one.  March gives us Oatmeal & Lavender.  It is softer in scent than the first one and the oatmeal softens hair and removes itchiness.  The included card also says that you can use this to wash your beard if you have one.

20170314_194632

The bonus lip balm that they included is Clary Sage, Lemon, and Lavender.  It smells a touch medicinal but it feels very nice on my lips and I think it’ll make them soft and healthy.

This soap ships in a regular envelope and inside that it is wrapped in cardstock.  They always include a little message on the paper.

This months soap is Plain & Simple.  This one has no preservatives, detergents, dyes, gluten, artificial colours or fragrances.  If just kinda smells like soap.  It is from their organic line.  The bar is 63g and retails for $3.25.

20170310_180502I love how they send this soap all wrapped up in card stock inside of a regular envelope.  They add the personal note every time and I can’t stress enough how that little touch makes all the difference.

The soap this month is Citronella & Calendula.  It is from their Natural soap line and would retail for $3.25.  I don’t really like the smell, the citronella is a bit strong for me and I can’t really get anything beyond that.  As I’m writing this, though, the Hubs has wandered by and says he loves it so he now has a new bar of soap to play with.

20170219_203437

20170219_203508Godspeed-$8.76

This soap is not on their website so I can’t tell you much about it.  It has geranium oil in it according to the label.  The red colouring comes from Moroccan red clay.  It smells lovely and I think maybe I’ve received one similar before.

20170219_203531In Twilight Speak Your Grace-$8.76

This contains Elemi oil and Zeolite clay.  I don’t really know what this smells like.  It is not very strong but I’m not sure if I like it or not.  I know it will lather up great and do the job it’s supposed to so even if I decide I really don’t care for it I can toss it in my husband’s shower and have him use it up.

This one has the biggest soaps of all the ones I get.  The value is $17.52.  They have a few different plans if you want to get some of their other products as well.  I have no idea how we’re going to use all this soap up each month!
