Scently Box July 2018

Scently Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out items that help you to relax and unwind.  They offer three sizes of box, Mini, Mod, and Ultra and you can also choose to have them delivered once a month or every three months.  Boxes start at $22.99 a month but go down with longer plans.  There is a $15.00 shipping fee to Canada as well.  Boxes include items made with natural ingredients, handcrafted items, bath and body items, and samples.  I was hoping for something different from what I’ve received before so let’s see what we find in the box!

20180729_182557

Things were a little messy in the box this month as the bath bomb package was open and from bouncing around things got a bit blue.

20180729_182626

First out of the box was Blueberry Micellar water.  This tends to be my go-to eye makeup remover type so I’m excited to see how this version works.  It smells like a Slurpee but I’m sure it’ll be fine.

20180729_182940

Next up was the Facial Creme Exfoliant.  I can’t tell you what this smells like but it’s not unpleasant.  It also doesn’t say what the exfoliant is but it’s not harsh and does leave you feeling soft skinned.

20180729_182951

We then have an Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey Handmade Soap Sample.  It smells exactly like soap.  I have quite a few bars of soap to use because of other boxes but this is a nice addition to the pile of them.

20180729_183008

One of the bigger items this month is a Daytime Blend Facial Moisturizer.  It smells like roses and something else I can’t place.  It absorbed into my skin very fast and didn’t leave it feeling greasy at all.

20180729_183024

Lastly, we have a Blueberry Bath Bomb.  I’m thinking we are going to have some crazy blue water once this gets going.  I am sad it made a bit of a mess but it’s still mostly whole and the few dents won’t matter once it gets in the water.

My second Scently Box is as good as the first.  The products are nice, the sizes are great, and the scents are fantastic.  I got a mix of bath items and all of them do put me into a relaxed state of mind.  I can only hope that the next few boxes I get from them are equally great.  If you want to find this box you can go to CrateJoy and order it up!

Scently Box June 2016

Scently Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out items that help you to relax and unwind.  They offer three sizes of box, Mini, Mod, and Ultra and you can also choose to have them delivered once a month or every three months.  Boxes start at $22.99 a month but go down with longer plans.  There is a $15.00 shipping fee to Canada as well.  Boxes include items made with natural ingredients, handcrafted items, bath and body items, and samples.  I was hoping for something different from what I’ve received before so let’s see what we find in the box!

This box came carefully wrapped in a bubble mailer and it was heavy!  Once I opened it up I could see that it was fully packed and there seemed to be lots of goodies in there.  I wasn’t sure exactly what kind of items this box would provide and after the first look, I still wasn’t completely sure.  They also don’t have an info card so I will be guessing on some of the items.

20180615_203819

This is a nice big bag of bath salts.  This is in a Fig scent and I’m happy with this to start off my experience with them.  Bath soaks are useful and indulgent so this is a welcome product.

20180615_203901

This candle has no scent listed on it but it smells nice.  It’s in a glass holder and probably has a 20 or so hour burn time.  I like that they have started off with a relaxing bath theme here 🙂

20180615_203707

These are “Fruit Spell” Travel Soaps.  They are made with coconut and palm oil and smell nice.  I like that they included different colours and that they are shaped and not just plain old square soaps.

20180615_203738

This little vial is an Egyptian Sandalwood Body Oil.  I was concerned this scent would be crazy strong but it’s beautiful!  The vial is a tiny roller ball so I can use this as a perfume as well.  I’m super happy with this item.

20180615_203758

The last item in the box is this Handmade Body Soap in Black.  Again I can’t tell what smell this is and Black is not all that helpful as a descriptor.  I’m sure it will be fine soap though.

For my first Scently Box I am very happy.  The products are nice, the sizes are great, and the scents are fantastic.  I got a mix of bath items and all of them do put me into a relaxed state of mind.  I can only hope that the next few boxes I get from them are equally great.  If you want to find this box you can go to CrateJoy and order it up!

Terra Bella Box October 2017

Terra Bella Box is a monthly subscription that sends out 3 to 4 natural beauty products.  They also offer a Makeup version that has 3 items in it.  You can get a monthly plan or 3 and 6 month plans in either version.  Boxes start at $32.95 a month and there is a shipping fee to Canada.  That is way, way more than I want to pay for a box and so I had refrained from getting this one until I found it on 50% off for Mother’s Day.  I went with the standard box and they always ship out the Welcome Box as your first one so you get an idea of what you can expect from them and you can get your first one quickly.

This must be the new box for them as this makes the second month that it’s looked like this.  Once I opened it up I could see nothing past the tissue paper that was carefully wrapped.  Getting under that, I still had no clues!

They have an info card that has a fall design on the front and the back has the list of items that you will find under all the crinkles, who made them, where you can get them, and the value of them.

20171103_204346

Mystical Mojo Mystical Zombie Dust-$6.00

This is so fun!!! It is a deconstructed bath bomb that is scented with orange and frankincense.  It is supposed to remind you of a Fall afternoon and make sure that after a hard day facing off against zombies you can relax in the tub and soak it all away.

20171103_204358

Soul + Stone Apothecary Pumpkin Spice Body Lotion-$14.95

This lotion is an all-natural blend that smells okay.  I am not a huge fan of anything pumpkin spice but this is not the overpowering nutmeg and cinnamon that is normal in this scent.  This has the most bizarre texture for a lotion.  It is like marshmallow fluff.  It is so light though and it absorbed really fast leaving me soft and not greasy at all.

Soul + Stone Apothecary Goblin Blotch Serum-$9.95

This one was an added surprise with it being hidden in a bag.  This is used to help reduce dark spots on your skin.  You apply a few drops after cleansing and toning and rub it in.  It is infused with crystal energy and they sent a crystal along as well.  This smells really nice but even two drops covered the back of my hand and took a long time to rub in so I’ll have to use this very sparingly.

20171103_204336

Project Detox Beauty Detox Botanical Facial Steam-$16.95

You add two tablespoons of this blend to a bowl of boiling water.  You let it steep for five minutes and then drape a towel over your head and steam yourself over the bowl.  You stay like that for five to ten minutes.  This should open up your pores and clean out the yucky things.

I had always thought the items I’d seen others getting were good and now that I’ve tried it I can be certain.  I love that they did all the items with a Halloween theme.  The value of this months box is $47.85, which is a little lower then it has been but is still good and is great with the deal I used.  I don’t normally purposefully seek out natural products but they do work great and it can’t be bad for me to use them.  This month was so good!  I’m very excited to use all of these things.

Bitchy Box TOM July 2017

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

20170725_185801

We are back to having the regular box this month and there is a surprise in there too it seems.

There is the info card, telling us the theme, Shark Week, and a list of the items included.  Also in there are some recipes for snacks and drinks and on the back is all their social media information.  There is a separate little page that tells us about a bonus item that we will find in our boxes too.

Hairbrained “Shark Week” Period Panties-$12.00

Every single month I love getting these panties.  They are so fun and different and quirky and I wear them all the time. These are highly time full as it is Shark Week right away.  They are bright and colourful but yet the front panel on the inside is black just in case.

Shark Attack Fabric Button Necklace-$11.00

How cute is this little guy???  This necklace is very light and slightly puffy.  The image is a piece of fabric that has been centered and chosen for this.  I love it and I am trying to figure out what I can wear this to work with very soon.

Great White Shark Soap-$3.88

SO freaking CUTE!!!  I am loving this theme and the items this month.  This is a handmade goat milk soap.  If it has a scent I can’t detect it through the package and the website doesn’t list one either.

Gummy Mini Sharks-$?

These are so soft and I love the gummies that are half white and half regular gummy.  They also included an ingredient list so if you have any issues you can see exactly what is in there.

20170725_185854

“Dirty” Sea Salt Potato Chips-$1.09

Sometimes you just want salt and carbs and I think this covers both.  They are called Dirty because they don’t rinse them after slicing.  This is supposed to give a more natural potato flavour.

Z Skin Sensitive Acne Night Lotion-$19.00

This was the bonus item this month.  I am slightly wary of it as there is a typo on the label, it says sesitve instead of sensitive.  It is a night cream that will help to clear acne and blackheads while you sleep.  It also helps to tighten pores and prevent future breakouts.  All of that seems like a very good thing and I could use some help with that.

This month had another great selection of things.  I think that they really nailed the theme this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  The value this month is $46.97 plus the candy.  Thankfully the value is up this month, though a good part of that is the bonus item.

Real Soaps Soap Of The Month July 2017

Real Soaps is a company out of Chicago making handmade soaps and natural body care products.  They don’t use any sulphates, parabens, phthalates and are cruelty-free. They also have no dyes, preservatives, or artificial ingredients and only pure essential oils for scents.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  You can buy individual soaps or they have six and twelve-month plans starting at $47.00 and shipping to Canada was under $20 for the whole term.  I’m not sure why I’m on a soap kick lately but they are fun to get.

This month we have a great blend of scents!  The Lavender Coconut smells so good.  You don’t get a tonne of the coconut part of I think that could change once you get it wet and lathered.

You can’t see it from the pictures but the top of the soap is white.  Looking at the card included you can read all about the different benefits of coconut oil and water.  It seems like this soap can make my life perfect…..or at least do good things for my body.  On the back of the card is a handwritten note saying Thank You for being a subscriber and that they hope I’ve enjoyed my soaps.  This is my last month, so that is a very nice touch.

I am always looking for bath type products and soap is such an easy way to shake up your routine.  I tend to not share these with my family but it I find a scent that is too strong or not to my liking then I give it to my hubby who is less picky.  That won’t be happening with this one!

Glorious Life Soap Of The Month July 2017

Glorious Life is a Canadian company that makes handcrafted soap, skin, and body care products.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  They make all their items in small batches and they are free from synthetic dyes and fragrances, preservatives, parabens, and phthalates.  They are all gluten free and most of them are vegan as well.  They offer 4, 6, and 12-month subscriptions, starting at $25.00, including shipping to Canada.  I was looking for something different and was happy to stumble across this one.

20170711_211025

They ship the soap in a regular envelope and inside of that is this cardstock.  It wraps around the soap and keeps everything nice and safe.

Forest Fresh Natural Soap-$2.25

I am very happy to have received this one.  It was one that I have been waiting for all subscription and since this is my last bar, I put in a special request for it.  They had been sold out on the website so I wasn’t getting my hopes up but it’s here and I love it!  It is a blend of four pines and smells like the forest as opposed to Christmas.

I’m really glad to support a Canadian company and enjoy handcrafted bath products.  This is an inexpensive way to get a great selection of soaps and after browsing their site there is definitely a few soaps I’m hoping will show up in my mailbox.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get 15% off your purchase and they have also sent me a code to get 3% off any further purchases from the site.

Mindfulness Box May 2017

Mindfulness Box is a monthly subscription that aims to promote mindfulness, inner peace & balance.  It contains 4-6 inspiring goods that have been carefully curated to bring you Zen and positivity.  There can be Holistic or Homeopathic health care products, handcrafted jewelry, or crystals.  They offer three diferent box types based on who is receiving the box, the standard box, a kids box, or a family box.  The standard and kids start at $29.00 and the family is $52.00 per month.  Boxes do go down slightly with longer plans and shipping to here was $15.00 a month.  This is one of the boxes I snagged on Mother’s Day at 50% off and is one I would normally not get due to the price.  I am excited to see what’s inside as the images of past boxes look great.

This is a teeny tiny box that was well packed and looked good upon opening. All the packing materials and the box are compostable or biodegradable.

They include an info card that tells you about the items and why they are included and what they will bring to you.  It also tells you the value of the items and where you can get them.

20170614_192504

Bella Luna Luz Revitalize Crystal-Infused Organic Sugar Scrub-$14.00

The whole line of the Bella Luna Luz is infused with grapefruit, blood orange, and Buddha’s hand.  It smells amazing!  It is just this bright citrus scent that is so uplifting.  This scrub uses organic and fair trade sugar, essential oils, coconut oil, and quartz crystal dust to nourish and invigorate as you use it.  This will be a good addition to my showers.

20170614_192432

Bella Luna Luz Revitalize Crystal Infused Aromatherapy Mist-$15.00

This mist is the same scent as above and that makes it really live up to the Awaken & Refresh that the bottle says.  It recommends that you keep this at your desk to give yourself a boost anytime you need it.  It actually has a chunk of crystal in it that you can hear and see when you give it a shake.

20170614_192534

Bella Luna Luz Nourish Lip Balm-$3.50

This lip balm is made from sunflower oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, vitamin E and aloe vera.  This one does not have the citrus scent that the others do but it feels vera soft and nice on my lips.

20170614_192444

Spirit Animal Organic Fizzy Bath Bomb-$8.00

This is a crystal-infused essential oil bath bomb.  Somewhere in here, this will reveal my spirit animal and then I get to go online to get the description of and meaning of the animal.  It doesn’t tell me the scent of this one but it’s a pale green colour.

20170614_192606

Double Terminated Quartz Point-$5.00

This crystal can absorb, amplify, and emit energy from both ends.  They are good for using to meditate and heal.  It also strengthens the aura and aligns the chakras.  It says you should clear these stones on a regular basis but doesn’t tell me how to do that.

20170614_192544

Stash Wild Raspberry Hibiscus Tea

I love this kind of tea and am very happy to have these two teabags.  I think adding the tea is a good way to remind you to take a few moments for yourself and just be.

I have to say I”m very happy with my first box from them.  All of the items included definitely are geared to making me relax and step away from the crazy of life.  These things are all going to be used and hopefully, add to my life.  The value of this month was $45.50, which is very good for what I paid.

Sunday Mood Box June 2017

Sunday Mood is a monthly box that includes a mix of indie brands, vegan beauty lines, all natural bath & beauty products, handmade jewelry, cool niche household items, art, specialty teas, and healthy treats.  They offer to different sizes of box, a sample box that has 2-3 deluxe samples and 1 full-size item or the full-size box that contains 4-6 full-size products.  They are priced at $25 and $44 but do go down with longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $10 per box.  This is another one I picked up on Mother’s Day for 50% off or I would never have given it a go.  There was an additional Customs charge when it arrived, so that is something to keep in mind if you order.

The box is fairly thin and has the name stamped on.  That paper you can see hanging down is the Customs form.  Once I opened it up, I could see it was well packed and the items had arrived safely snuggled in their squiggles.

They do include an info card in the box.  I’m not sure it the Gypsy is the theme or not but it could be.  On the back is the list of the items, the supplier, the value, and social media links for them.

20170612_183746

Green Beau Tea Blend-$10.00

This is a tea blend of green tea, rose petals, and rose hips.  You can drink this as a tea, use it as a facial steam, or in a magic ritual if that’s your thing.  I have a cup of tea every night before bed and I have many tea balls to choose from to make this tea in.

20170612_183557

Agate Clay Soap-$10.00

This soap is handmade using vegan ingredients and colours from plants or the earth.  This one has swirls of clay, spirulina, paprika, and indigo.  It smells slightly like pink grapefruit and will be a nice soap to use.

20170612_183729

Eco Exotic Bronzer-$23.00

As you can see this opened slightly but it was sealed on the outside so there was no mess.  It is a bronzer powder but it has absolutely no shimmer at all.  I use all bronzers as blush since I cannot apply them as anything else.  This should give me a good tanned colour and hopefully look good.

20170612_183616

Vegan Kabuki Brush-$15.00

This brush is made by the same company that does the bronzer and can easily be put to use with it.  It will also work for foundation, blush, or powder.  The bristles are very soft but still hold their shape well and don’t shed.

20170612_183806

Cobalt Aura Quartz Crystal Necklace-$30.00

This necklace is beautiful.  It is a piece of raw cobalt crystal on a silver chain.  The crystal benefits the throat chakra and inspires creativity and healing.  Those both seem like a good combination to wear often.

20170612_183819

Vegan Star Child Celestial Body Oil-$12.00

This blend of eight oils can be used as a bath additive or rubbed directly onto the body.  It helps to promote optimism and hope and to help you believe in your dreams.  I love the blue mica in it that will add shimmer.  It does absorb well and you don’t need a ton of it to cover an area.  It smells amazing!  I want to rub this all over my body!

I am so unbelievably impressed with this box!  All of the items this month are great and I can’t wait to use them.  The value for this month is $100.00.  That makes that Customs fee okay!  With the discount I got I feel like the Queen of the world with this one.  I love it!!!  If you go to check it out they do have a code on their site that says will get you some type of a discount upon checkout.

20170610_193040

They ship out this bar of soap in a bubble mailer.  They add the little Thank You on the back.

I love the care they take in the packaging of this soap.  It’s simple but so effective and I think it looks great.  The soap this month is Vetiver & Lemongrass.

This soap is the newest one they make.  According to their little card vetiver has many benefits.  It is an aphrodisiac, antiseptic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, sedative properties, stress and anxiety reduction, promotes the growth of new tissue, removes scars, and other skin marks.  This bar smells a little smokey to me and the lemongrass is barely there.  That may change once I actually use it and get a lather going though.

I am always looking for bath type products and soap is such an easy way to shake up your routine.  I tend to not share these with my family but it I find a scent that is too strong or not to my liking then I give it to my hubby who is less picky.  That won’t be happening with this one!

20170609_192445

This one ships itself out in a normal letter envelope so they enclose the soap in a cardstock to protect it.  They also add a little note on each one.

Sensitive Shampoo Bar-$5.00

There was a little bit of a surprise this month as what fell out was not a bar of soap but a bar of shampoo.  I have never used a shampoo bar before so I am very happy that they added the instructions along with it.  It does say you may need to give it a few tried to get your hair used to the new routine and the lack of chemicals on it.
