L.V.Kiki February 2017

L.V.Kiki is a monthly subscription box of 4-6 fashion accessories.  You can either sign up for the plans or if you want to see what type of things they send out you can order a one-off trial box.  The boxes may include jewellery, shoes, scarves, gloves, hats, legwear, belts, and hair accessories. Boxes start at $19.00 per month and shipping to here was less than $1.00 per month.  I was in the market for an accessories box and after finding a discount code for this one I got it at a great price. Shipping is always super quick and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

The box was a little heavier this month than it can sometimes be so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The first peek gave me a toque and glimpses of things that as yet are a mystery.

20170208_175146First up we have the toque.  It is white with silver threads and a big pom-pom.  It is snug on me but not small and has something in it all toques should have……a fuzzy lining around the bottom.  It stops you from getting that itch and crazy knit pattern transferred to your forehead.

In one of the little bags, this time was a Partners In Crime friendship keychain set and a hair clip.  The keychains don’t seem like something trendy and I don’t really care to have them in the box.  I like the clip and it holds my hair up so it’s a win.

In the other bag, we have a pair of earrings and a collection of rings.  I think these earrings are very pretty and look forward to wearing them.  They have a thin pink thread looped through the small hoops on the earring and a pink rhinestone on the top.  They rings have a wide variety of sizes so they fit on many of my fingers.  Usually, at least one of them is crazy small and goes to the girls but this time they all fit somewhere.  There are seven rings in total.

20170208_175504I think this is the first time I’ve received a purse from them.  They’ve sent me bags before but never a purse.  This one is a good size for going out when I don’t need to have the “mom purse” full of anything I could possibly ever need.  Inside it has two smaller pouches inside that would hold my phone and a pack of gum.  It will hold my wallet as well and a few other essentials.  It has a long strap so you can wear it crossbody.

20170208_175540This wide pleather belt is headed straight for the donation bin.  It does fit but it is so far from anything I would ever wear that there is no point in keeping it.  If I had a tiny waist and a penchant for dresses then I could pull this off.  Since none of that happens in the real world, this will go far away from me.

20170208_175629I hate leggings.  They are not made for people who are not size 0.  I don’t know if these will even fit…they are a M/L but the waistband is less stretchy than the material itself is.  Who wears a rose floral pattern out in public, though???

20170208_175653This scarf is redeeming the box for me.  It is an infinity scarf and has three colours knitted together.  It doubles up perfectly and fits close to my neck so it’ll keep me warm.  It is thick and if it had matched the toque it would be perfect.  As it is, it does match a few other outer gear items I have so it will be put to use tomorrow.

All of the items come with the L.V.Kiki brand tags on them so there is no way to value them.  I have a few misses with items in these boxes but it’s just one of two of the things, never a whole box.   It almost seems like a steal at the prices I paid.  If the rest of my boxes are as good as this one was for me I will be more than happy.  I think this will be one of those boxes that is a great find!

White Willow January 2017

White Willow is a monthly lifestyle box that sends out surprise items from beauty, fashion, home, culinary, or all around lifestyle themes.  They ship out four to five items and are a Canadian company.  That makes me so happy I was okay paying slightly more than I normally would for a box.  They promise a value of $70, so let’s hope they meet that.  Subscriptions start at $35 a month but do go down a bit with longer plans.  Shipping to here is $8.50/month.  They are changing all that up starting now.  If you subscribe now you will get boxes every other month.  Anyone who was already on a plan will continue to get boxes monthly until their time is up.

I know I say it every time but the presentation of this box is amazing.  They take so much care in how they make it look and feel like a present each month.

They also include a professional looking info card that tells you what items you received, a little about each item, and the price of them.

20170110_1932182017 Weekly Planner by Lady Jane Ltd.-$18.00

This is a very pretty planner.  I know I’m a little late getting this post up but this box arrived early in January so this would have been on time.  I had already bought and begun using a planner a while before this so it’s not really useful for me personally but I think it was a great inclusion.  There was a chance for two different cover styles.

20170110_193207Fingerless Sweater Knit Winter Gloves-$10.00

I have a pair of these and I love them so I’m very happy to get another one.  The palms on these ones do not have the cable pattern so they lay flat on your hand.  They do have the thumb hole in them and they go from my knuckles to three inches past my wrists. You could have received one of six colours and I got Dark Grey.

20170110_193107Cosmetic Beauty Sponge by W.O.W. Beauty Los Angeles-$6.00

I think this is the fifth makeup sponge I’ve received and I’m still using the first one!  None of my other ones has a gold belt, though.  I do use it every day so having backup is nice.

20170110_193128Naked Skin Beauty Balm by Urban Decay-$43.00

Let me start off by saying that Urban Decay is a brand I would live in if I had unlimited funds to do so.  This BB cream is for your whole body.  It has a minty scent and a slight shimmer.  It looks like it would leave a colour on your skin but doesn’t once you rub it on.  It has all sorts of benefits and might now have to give up on lattes to buy more once it runs out.  I absolutely love this!!!!!

20170110_193153Fairtrade Organic 72% Dark Chocolate with Blueberries and Lavender by Earth’s Choice-$5

OOOOOOOH a chocolate bar!  I normally give all dark chocolate to my Hubby but I think he’d turn down one with these flavours anyways.  This bar is organic, fair trade, gluten and soy free, and made with no preservatives.  I’ve never had anything where I ingest lavender before so this will be a new experience along with a treat.

The value this time is $82.00.  This month had items I like, and will use. I think it was a good combination of things to break up your Winter and yet keep you prepared.   Sometimes you find things you can no longer live without and sometimes not so much.  I am always happy to find a Canadian box and this one is a good one! If you want to try them out click here.

Eternally In Amber January 2017

Eternally In Amber is a bi-monthly box that sends out hair accessories.  They promise the items to be both high quality and on trend.  They also have an online shop where you can grab items or add items into your box to save on shipping fees.  They have two box options, Basic, which has 2-3 items and Deluxe, which is 4-5.  They start at $15.00 a month and shipping for me was $4.00, which is really fair I think.  This is the first hair accessories boxes I have found and since I’m always looking for new things not only for myself but for Bug too I decided to give it a go.

The box is very light this month but inside it is wrapped up nicely and after my first peek, I still have no idea what’s inside.

The info card wasn’t taped to the lid this month and it’s made of thicker paper than before.  Inside of it is the same, though.  The left-hand side lets you know about why these items were chosen for the box and the right tells you what you actually got.

20170203_193644Misty Brown Geo Hair Clip Set-$8.00 and $7.00

These both have a snap clip on the bottom to hold them in your hair and they are tight.  I like these both and I think they will give me a nicer looking hold when I put up a small amount of my hair than when I use a ponytail holder.

20170203_193627White/Cream Swirl Mini Hair Claw-$7.00

This is a very cute little claw clip.  It will only hold a small amount of hair and will at least keep the front of my hair off my face when I wear it down.  I think I like this colour better than the ones on the barrettes above too.

20170203_193653Mahogany Granite Side Comb-$10.00

They say you can use this to create an easy updo but I seem to lack the skills required.  This is the second or third one of these they have sent me (in different colours) and I am at a loss as to how to use them and have them stay. I really want to use these and I hate that I’m too stupid.

The box this time has a value of $32.00.  That is great for what you paid but I know that there is no way I would ever pay these prices for any of these items.  They are good quality and I will get lots of use from them.  I went with the Deluxe box and got the four items as promised this month.  I also had no issues with Customs this time.

L.V.Kiki January 2017

L.V.Kiki is a monthly subscription box of 4-6 fashion accessories.  You can either sign up for the plans or if you want to see what type of things they send out you can order a one-off trial box.  The boxes may include jewellery, shoes, scarves, gloves, hats, legwear, belts, and hair accessories. Shipping is always super quick and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

This box changes size every month.  This time we are back to a smaller box but once you open it, it is full to the top.  Inside the paper is a couple of bags filled with your surprises.

20170111_144144

The smaller of the two bags held this beautiful earring and necklace set.  I just love it and will be wearing this one for sure.  The mix of patterns on the necklace adds to the wearability of this.  I’m really happy with this!  Really, really!!

20170111_144213

First out of the big bag is this hair clip.  It will be good for either work or just kicking around the house.  It clips tight enough to stay in place, even on my fine hair so that is good.

20170111_144228

Next we have a pair of tech gloves.  I lose gloves like you wouldn’t believe…..well actually I tend to lose just one…….so this is a timely item.  It is nice that they are ones that I can keep on while it’s freezing outside.  I mean I could just ignore my phone but then I might have to interact with other humans and that would be horrible.

20170111_144242

I think these are boot toppers.  I don’t have a pair and so that’s why I’m guessing but it seems right.  I don’t know if I’ll get much use out of these since I only have one pair of pants that I wear my boots over so that defeats the purpose of these.

20170111_144255

This is another one I’m kinda guessing on.  I believe it’s a headband but it is folded in the picture above.  It is almost six inches wide when opened.  I guess it could be a neck warmer??  I;m using it as a headband because it fits and I like it that way.

Klean Box Boss Babe Box November 2016

Klean Box is a surprise box full of bath and beauty items from KleanKristi on Etsy.  Each month she sends out a box full of items she makes herself and sometimes she includes items from fellow Etsy sellers as well.  Boxes start at $20 per month and you can get 6 or 12 month plans as well.  She only ships to the United States but due to an ordering glitch on Etsy I was able to order it.  Thankfully we were able to work out a deal with the shipping because it’s rather high to ship to Canada and I was disappointed to possibly have to cancel my order.  Kristi has been fabulous to deal with and I’m hopeful with what I’m going to be getting!

The box was packed and wrapped and protected with squiggles.  Once I got through all that I could see more bags and packages all nestled inside.  There was not an info card in there this month so I’ll be doing a bit of guessing as to what things are.

20161221_175209

These are temporary tattoos.  I think this might be one big arm band tattoo.  If it’s not, it could be.  I don’t really do the metallic tattoo trend but maybe one day I will have a good reason to.

Overall Beauty Minerals Vegan Mineral Makeup

I think this one is called Bright.  It is a lovely yellow and while that might not seem like a shade you would want to wear it’s actually great. This will be an eyeshadow for me.

“Whipped” Soap

This is a glycerin soap with a dark base and a gold top layer.  It has little balls of white and gold for decoration on the front.  The soaps are always huge and almost too pretty to use.

Manage 888 Multi-Purpose Brush

This is an interchangeable head brush.  It has brow, lip, and shadow ends that you can switch out so you don’t need to have four different brushes with you at all times. It’s a neat idea but I wish it came with a case.

Inside this box was a necklace and a bracelet.  The necklace threads through a loop on one end to form the circle and the bracelet says “Like A Boss”.

Next out we have a three pack of hair ties.  I have a small pile of these but they disappear  all the time so I am happy to get more.

20161221_175724Moon Sparkle Roll-On Perfume

Ooooo…this smells nice!  There was a choice of ones you could pick and I’m happy with the one I chose.  It is a slightly floral/musk scent and it works for me.

20161221_175739

Khocoate Kisses Kolor Stix

I thought this was a lip balm but it’s actually more like lipstick.  It is a shimmery bronze colour.  I like it and will wear it and it has a slight Khalua smell to it so that’s a good thing too.

This bag had everything you need for your next nail art project.  The polish is a pure gold with micro shimmer.  There are also two phials of glitter and some nail charms.  My nails are not nearly long enough to use the charms but maybe one day. I might end up using the glitter for crafts instead of nails too.

20161221_175906-1

Lastly, there is a note card, paper clip, and confetti.

This was my fifth box from Klean Box and it was great.  Everything in it fit the theme perfectly and the main items were handmade, which is what you expect from anything on Etsy.  I can’t wait to get more boxes from here and am now even more excited that I was able to actually get the box.  I’m sad I only have one more box coming.

Juneberry January 2017

Juneberry Box is a bi-monthly subscription box that sends out 4-5 full-sized lifestyle items.  These may include jewelry, accessories, make-up or wellness products.  They are a Canadian company as well.  Boxes start at $28.50 every two months but go down with longer plans.  Shipping within Canada is free.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get a code for $15.00 off a subscription.  Let’s check out what Juneberry has sent!

This box was heavily taped up but there was no tag saying Canada Post had opened it so I’m not sure why that was.  It is also early since they are a bi-monthly box and I received one in November.  There also was not an info card like normal.

20161228_140850

Right on top was a pair of leg warmers.  This is the second pair I’ve received this season so I guess they are back in style?  These ones like the first pair will be put into my donation box as I will never use them.

20161228_140900

Next up was this pack of bath bombs.  There is no tag or anything on them so I can’t tell you much about them beyond they have red and green sprinkles on them so they are festive.

20161228_140915

This ring was floating around the box.  It has a bit of an Aztec feel to it.  It fits a few of my fingers so I think it’ll get worn.  Gold is not my preferred metal choice but I do like it.

20161228_140930

This Essie nail polish is a great colour.  It is a metallic bronze tone and I love it.  I have a few Essie polishes and they work well for me so this is a great inclusion.

20161228_140950

The last item in the box was this blue infinity scarf.  It is very thick and soft and perfect for today.  I’m getting quite the collection of scarves but infinity ones are my favourite because I can’t screw up how to wear them.

Without the info card I have no idea what these things are worth so no value this time. They have been sending out very different things from month to month so it’s always a surprise what I’m going to find when I open this one up.  Shipping was quick as well due to them being a Canadian company.  If you want to check them out click here.

Loot Wear December 2016

LVL Up has been renamed to Loot Wear.  It is a monthly subscription catering to people looking for geek clothing and accessories.  They allow you to choose between four options, socks, t-shirts, wearables, and for her.  They just introduced a new plan, Undies.  You can also select the from two bundles if you wanted more than just one choice.  Plans start from $11.99USD and while shipping is included in the US to get things here you need additional shipping fees.  I have chosen the for her option which sends out 1-2 items of apparel and accessories each month.  This month’s theme is Revolution.

20161221_174330The bag tells you rather obviously who your package is from.  It also has a quote on it from a movie. If you correctly identify it you could win.

The included card tells you all about the items from every group.  This month you had options from Guardians of The Galaxy, Invader Zim, Rick and Morty, Mr.Robot, and Marvel’s Spider-Gwen.

Spider-Gwen Zip Wallet

I’m going to be honest and admit I haven’t got the faintest idea what Spider-Gwen is.  I actually just bought myself a new wallet a few days ago but this one wouldn’t have been suitable anyways.  It opens up to two compartments with no card slots or money pouches.  I do like the metallic purple web areas though.  Maybe I can use this to hold all of my loyalty cards or something.

This month is back to being a bit of a bust. I’m having some buyers regret with this one, though a few of the  months have helped alleviate that slightly.   I’m not sure if this will now be more clothing oriented that it was but I guess we’ll find out.  I think this might be my last month and I’m not sorry at all.  It’s just not for me.  It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.

White Willow December 2016

This box has such a beautiful presentation.  They take so much care to make sure you feel special when you open it up.  Everything inside is safely packed so nothing gets damaged in transit.

They have an info card that is lovely and tells you all about the items you will find inside your box.

They also sent me a Holiday Card, which makes me happy. There is also three mini candy canes.  YAY!!!

Double Layered Necklace with White Marble-$28.00

So first off, this came in it’s own little present box. Inside that was a velvet bag that held the necklace.  I think this is a gorgeous necklace and love the marble.  I also like that it’s two chains attached only at the clasp.

Glistening Snow Gilded Winter Candle with Metallics Collection Matches by Greenmarket Purveying Co.-$17.00

This is a very smelly candle.  In a good way though.  It smells like green pine with a hint of vanilla.  It will definitely add that pine tree smell to the house when I burn it so I think it’ll wait until Xmas Day.  The matches are a nice inclusion.

20161211_174452

Lip Locked Priming Gloss Stain by Manna Kadar in Lucky-$32.00

I’ve received a few items from this brand before in other boxes and I like them.  This one is a pink shade that is pretty neutral.  I like that it’s not sticky on my lips and for a stain, it’s not dry feeling.

20161211_174348

Dry Hands Rescue Mask by Kocostar-$5.00

I have never tried a hand mask before.  You simply slide your hands into the gloves and wear for 20 minutes.  Once you’re done you toss the gloves and rub any leftover serum into your hands.  At the end you should have super soft hands for days.

20161211_174610-1

Chocolate Chip Walnut Biscotti by Murchie’s Fine Tea & Coffee-$10.00

These are going straight to my hubby.  I hate biscotti.  I can think if nothing more gross than dunking things into a warm liquid and eating them.  Ugghhh…..even thinking about it makes me cringe.  I’m just going to assume these are lovely.

The value this time is $92.00.  This month had items I like, except the biscotti. It also fells very Christmasy.  Sometimes you find things you can no longer live without and sometimes not so much.  I am always happy to find a Canadian box and this one is a good one! If you want to try them out click here.

They send this out in such a cute little box.  Inside things are packed up and attached to the lid is a letter.

20161207_184956

The letter tells you all about this months selections and the choices that were made by Amber.

20161207_185019

Tortoise Shell Hair Clip-$8.00 and Pastel Styling Hair Clip Set-$8.00

I’m not sure this round clip will hold my hair all that well since it’s so fine but it has a strong clasp and teeth on the bottom so maybe.  I like the colour and it’ll be a good neutral item for work.  The barrettes are nice and they will work to give added strength to up do’s.

Curved Pony Barrette-$12.00

I love this one!  It’ll hold all of my hair and will be less severe than a normal pony tail.  The colour of this one will work with almost anything as well.

20161207_185031

White/Cream Swirl Bauble Ponytail Holder-$8.00

This reminds me of the crazy ponytail holders of my youth.  You know the ones….that would snap back and break your fingers when you missed getting them latched?  This one just has the ball as a design on a regular holder but it’s solid so you could do some damage.

The box this time has a value of $36.00.  That is great for what you paid but I know that there is no way I would ever pay these prices for any of these items.  They are good quality and I will get lots of use from them.  I went with the Deluxe box and got the four items as promised this month.  I also had no issues with Customs this time.

20161129_143640

They ship this sub out in a bag with a quote from a movie on it.  You can win things if you let them know the movie.  The bag is bigger this month then last but anything could be inside.

They have an info card that shows all the options for they various types of wearables.

20161129_143748

Kingdom Hearts Icons Scarf

I have no clue what Kingdom Hearts is.  This scarf is nice and thick and I think the symbols are vague enough that I could just wear it.  It appears to be some Disney movie???

This month is back to being a bit of a bust. I’m having some buyers regret with this one, though a few of the  months have helped alleviate that slightly.   I’m not sure if this will now be more clothing oriented that it was but I guess we’ll find out.  I have a few months left in my plan so I’ll get to see.  It’s neat stuff but so far nothing that has wowed me.  You can visit their site by clicking here to explore all the options.
