Unicorn Dream Box June 2018

Unicorn Dream Box is a monthly subscription that will help to satisfy any cravings you may have for all things unicorn.  They will send out a mix of makeup, stationery, decor, and accessories.  There will also be a treat in there.  They offer two different sizes of box, Dream Mail that will send 3-4 items and the Dream Box that sends out 6-9 items.  Boxes start at $19.95 and do go down with longer plans.  There is an additional shipping charge to Canada.  I happen to love unicorns so getting this box was a bit of a no-brainer for me.

20180630_205145

Once again we have the rainbow bag to contain all the goodies.

20180630_205207

This month they went back to having an info card that lists all the items I can expect to find for this month.

20180630_205327

Unicorn Bracelet-$8.00

This bracelet is on a rainbow neon cord and you just tie it onto your wrist.  I have really small wrists and this does fit me but if you had larger ones you might have a bit of a problem.

20180630_205349

Rainbow Candy-$1.50

This is a fun lollipop!  So far all of the lollies have gone to my children and I’m thinking this will follow suit.  I just don’t need any more sugar in my life and these are huge to eat.

20180630_205255

Unicorn Drink Holder-$9.00

SO this is amazing!  I am going to have to plop myself in the kid’s pool outside just so I can use this.  It is inflatable and after reading the back of it, it recommends holding your drink in the bath with it so that’s an even easier way for me to put this to use.

20180630_205245

Unicorn Lip Balm-$10.00

In what may come as a surprise to you, this is not the only one of these I own…..one of my co-workers gave me this as a gift one year, mostly because they are awesome.  This has cotton candy lip balm inside the unicorn head and it’s great.

20180630_205219

Key Chain-$12.00

I think using this will guarantee that my Hubby will never use my keys ever again.  It is soft pink and has a reflective silver head and tail.  This is going on my keys right now, sorry Hawaii memento.

This box is even greater than I was hoping it would be.  I love the items in it and the mix of things was perfect.  The value this month is $40.50. The box is just fun and whimsical and will give me a good blast of unicorn for the few months I receive it.  If you want to get your own bit of unicorns click here to go to CrateJoy and search them out.

Unicorn Dream Box April 2018

Unicorn Dream Box is a monthly subscription that will help to satisfy any cravings you may have for all things unicorn.  They will send out a mix of makeup, stationery, decor, and accessories.  There will also be a treat in there.  They offer two different sizes of box, Dream Mail that will send 3-4 items and the Dream Box that sends out 6-9 items.  Boxes start at $19.95 and do go down with longer plans.  There is an additional shipping charge to Canada.  I happen to love unicorns so getting this box was a bit of a no-brainer for me.

My Dream Mail showed up in a mailer bag.  Inside of that, it was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap.  Once we got past that there was a bright rainbow bag that was holding the goodies.

20180501_135849

They include an info card that tells you all of the items that you can expect to find in your bag and the value of those items.  There is also the social media links in case you want to get hold of them.

20180501_135928

Unicorn Liquid Pencil Case-$12.00

This is amazing!  This pencil case has a water-filled front that is filled with stars and unicorns and other cutouts.  This makes me so happy you can’t even imagine.  I shall take it to work and drive my boss crazy with it!

20180501_135942

Unicorn Nail Stickers-$12.00

These are pretty fun.  I never think to use nail stickers when I paint my nails but I might have to give the unicorns a try.  My nails might not be big enough to use many of them though.

Unicorn Pool Float-$16.00

I tend to see this as more of a beach ball then a float but that’s just me.  This is the most ridiculous and awesome thing I’ve ever seen.  I have no idea what I will do with it but it’s fun and I like it.

20180501_140306

Star Pen-$3.00

This a black pen with a star cap.  Not much else to say about it but I love pens so this will join my collection.

20180501_140258

Rainbow Erasers-$2.00

There are six little erasers in this bag.  They are mostly useless but very bright and I’ll line them up somewhere.

Candy-$3.00

There were two pieces of candy on the box, the rainbow is gummy and then there is a twisted lollipop.  I never say no to candy so I’ve already eaten half of these.

This box is even greater than I was hoping it would be.  I love the items in it and the mix of things was perfect.  The box is just fun and whimsical and will give me a good blast of unicorn for the few months I receive it.  This month the box value was $48.00 which is nice compared to the price.  If you want to get your own bit of unicorns click here to go to CrateJoy and search them out.

Feriwola Men’s Watch Reveiw

Disclaimer: I received this product for a discount but all opinions are my own.

My husband is not much of a watch guy but there are occasions when he does want to have the ease of not pulling out his phone to check the time.  After a quick browse around the Feriwola site, I found this one to give a try for him.

20180214_183252

It came in this plastic wrapper, wrapped up in foam padding, and in a plastic bag mailer.  Shipping was reasonable and it made it here in under 3 weeks!

The watch features an oversized face with a couple of springs for that extra manly look.  There were no instructions included in the packaging but it’s just one knob to set, same as any other watch.  The strap is silicone and it uses quartz movement in the dial.

20180214_183442

As you can see my husband has fairly small wrists but it still looks good and worst case scenario he can use it as a weapon since the face is pretty heavy.  It’s not going to last forever but as a fashion watch, it’ll be good enough to make it to out of style. You can get yours here.

Geek At Heart August 2017

Geek At Heart is a monthly subscription box that will send out 5-7 items based around a fandom theme.  They will send out a mix of home, beauty, and lifestyle products to make you feel the special connections to fandoms that are part of geek life.  They say they will focus on 2-3 fandoms per month that link to the theme that they pick.  You can go month to month for $24.95 or lock in for three months at a time for $23.65 per month.  Shipping to Canada was just over $20.00 for the three month period.  I am always wary when I order a geek or fandom box as the themes can vary into things I just don’t care about and then the box is wasted for me.  I decided to give this one a go as I am not receiving any geek boxes right now and I was feeling the lack.

The box this one arrives in is a wonderful purple colour.  There is a quote on one side and the brand on the lid.  Inside I found things well packed and safe on their journey from the US up to here.

20170823_175748

They do have an info card included and it mentions the theme, Sword & Sorcery, plus a list of the items that are included.  This month is a mix of Game of Thrones, Chronicles of Narnia, A Court Of Thorns And Roses, and Lord Of The Rings.  All of these are book series that I’ve enjoyed, though I tend to avoid the movie and TV productions of them.

20170823_175953

Lord Of The Rings Mug

This is a very pretty mug and it had extra bubble wrap around it to make sure it arrived in one piece.  It has a vinyl image applied to it and that will make it hand wash only.  I am always happy to get a new mug and this one will join the racks once I can get it soaped up.

20170823_175813

Lord Of The Rings Leaves Of Lorien Lemon Tea

This is a small bag of tea but should still give at least five cups worth.  It is a blend of green tea, lemon, lemongrass, lemon balm, and marigold flowers.  I have so much tea right now but at least this means I don’t have to buy any for a while.

20170823_175858

Chronicles Of Narnia Tea Strainer

Just to complete the things you’d need to make a cuppa, here is a strainer for that loose tea they shipped.  It has a couple of charms on the handle, one is a tiny book and the other is a glass bubble with part of a page from the book in it.  I do not have a strainer like this and am excited to give it a try.

20170823_175838

A Court Of Mist And Fury Galaxy Ring

This is one of the items that I don’t care much for.  Even if I was a huge fan of this book, this is one of those ring types that you just can’t wear in a regular situation.  Besides being huge it doesn’t tighten up enough to stay on my finger.  The girls will get it to play with and be happy.

20170823_175935

Chronicles Of Narnia Vanilla Mint Lip Balm

It is very very faint but there is the castle on the label of this balm.  The mint part tingles on the lips and blends well with the vanilla.  It feels smooth on my lips and I will add this to my collection and use it in turn.

20170823_175801

A COurt Of Mist And Fury Postcard Print

This is a great statement and I think this is one that will be framed and hung.  It is printed on thick paper and for shipping, it is wrapped in a protective plastic.  I am very happy with this print.

For my first box from them, I am impressed.  The covered the theme pretty well and the items are well crafted.  You can see that they take care to source quality items and the ones they make have the same level of care.  The only complaint that I have is that the info card is the same one they use for the people who got the shirt option, which doesn’t actually seem to be an option anymore, so it looks like I was missing an item even though I was aware that I didn’t choose that plan.  You can sign up for this box either on their website or find them on CrateJoy.

Loves It Newfoundland Box July 2017

Loves It is a box of Newfoundland sourced, hand crafted, home made items.  They are proudly sending out boxes of items they purchase from those local suppliers so that they can show off the greatness of their artists, crafters, and businesses.  They offer both a Standard or a Premium box and monthly or quarterly subscriptions.  Boxes start at $35.00 a month but do go down with longer plans.  There will be 4-7 items per box and they say they will range in value from $40-$75.  I am always on the lookout for Canadian boxes and so while I’m not from Newfoundland nor have I ever been there I was still interested in this box.

I think this box is no longer planning to ship out anything and that they sent all of their subscriber’s extra boxes to reduce any remaining stock.  This is all I can think of for why I’ve received so many extra boxes after my plan ended.  The website simply says they are not accepting any new orders at this time.

20170714_185255

Mirabella Tea Company Fogo Island Fog Black Tea

This is a loose-leaf tea blend that seems to be a type of London Fog taste.  I have a bit of a glut of tea at the moment but Fall and Winter are coming so maybe I’ll be having more that one cup a day.  My co-worker also bought an electric kettle for their office so I can have tea at work whenever I want as well.

20170714_185322

Newfoundland House Bottle Stopper

There was not a single bit of wording on this to let me know who made this or where it came from.  It is handpainted and very light so I’m not sure what the top is made of.  This will become a well used and enjoyed piece of art.

20170714_185335

St.John’s Soap Works Iceberg Bath Bomb

I’m not sure what an iceberg smells like but I hope these will be fantastic.  I love bath bombs and I don’t think you can ever have too many of them in line for use.  So far I’ve managed to keep the joy of them away from the girls but I don’t know how much longer that will hold out for.

East Coast Glow Port Rexton Brewing Beer Soap

This soap is made with iceberg water, beer, and a mix of oils.  It doesn’t smell like beer, which is probably a good thing 🙂  I enjoy the non-commercially produced soaps but I think this one might go to the Hubby as he may appreciate the beer part of it more than I do.

20170714_185403

Newfoundland Chocolate Company Extra Smooth Milk Chocolate Bar

This company has the best wrappers for their chocolate ever!  This one is of the row houses that are an iconic part of Newfoundland.  I never say no to more chocolate.

20170714_185415

Purity Bull’s Eyes

This is a type of candy I have never seen before.  They seem to be mostly sugar and molasses…..so that’s just sugar then.  I haven’t tried them yet but I think they can be saved until Xmas and be tossed into a festive dish for everyone to enjoy.

20170729_144113

Fog Off Clothing Co. Wristband

This is an item that I’ve received before and it’s just a piece of advertising for a company that seems to do great deeds for those less fortunate.  This will go straight to the girls to play with.

20170729_144036

Hello From Newfoundland Card by Angela Foss

This is also a duplicate but these cards are so beautiful that I do not mind at all.

20170729_144025

Seal Skin Necklace

I understand that many people would be horrified to receive this but I am not one of them.  I have no issues with fur or hunting, provided it is done humanely.  This is created by an Inuit person in Labrador and I like it.  I have never seen seal skin before in the flesh :~ It’s on a black string necklace.

There was actually one more item in the box that I missed until I went to recycle the boxes and papers.  It was wrapped up in the same tissue paper as it was laying on and I thought it was padding!  It is a little ceramic tumbler that says Skeet.  It is about the size of a shot glass but I’m not sure if that is what it is supposed to be or not.  I think I’ll use it for toothpicks!

I thought last month (and the month before, and the month before)were my last boxes from Loves It but I got these two.  As normal, I still never have any clue what to expect to be in it besides it all being from Newfoundland.  There is a good mix of products. I just wish for a few of the thing that they would tell me what or why it was included. Value is always hard for this box as I don’t always know where things are from. If you want to check them out click here to go to their site, though it was closed at the time of posting.

The Fan Empire May 2017

The Fan Empire is a monthly subscription that sends you out 4-6 pieces of fandom merchandise.  Items can be anything from posters to t-shirts and are based around a different theme each month.  Previous fandoms include The Hunger Games and Harry Potter.  Boxes start at $14.95 a month but do go down a little with a longer plan.  Shipping to Canada was $5.50.  I am always wary of the fandom boxes because if you get a month that is not one of yours then it can feel like a waste.  Let’s see how we get on with this one.

20170524_133746

I was very surprised when this package showed up.  I had given up on ever getting any more from this company as my messages went unanswered and I haven’t received anything in months.

20170524_133821

They do include an info card that tells you about where the items come from and what their values are.  It also tells you the theme, “Tale As Old As Time”.

Beauty and The Beast Coin Purse-$8.00

This is a small coin purse with a snap closure.  It is made from thicker vinyl and has the same image, just reversed, on each side.  It is nice and if you are a fan of the movie it would be a great memento.

20170524_134106

Adjustable Enchanted Rose Ring-$6.00

This is quite cute.  I don’t get why they would have put the little white rocks in there as well as the rose but maybe I’m missing something having not seen this incarnation of the movie.  It is huge and decidedly not practical for everyday wear but would make a nice addition to a costume.

20170524_134021

Chip Laser Cut Earrings Set-$10.00

How cute are these?  Chip is an underrated addition to the movie.  These are small enough to wear every day and will garner comments I’m sure.

Beauty And The Beat Double-sided Bookmark-$5.00

One can never have enough bookmarks.  I always have a stack of them handy.  This will get tons of use and it’s pretty too.

20170524_133814

Beauty And The Beast Custom Postcard-$5.00

I always hate to include this in the value as it’s really the back of the info card.  I guess you could frame it if you were inclined but it is usually a little bent or damaged by the time it arrives.

Once again this one came really, really late.  She says she lets everyone on social media know and occasionally sends an email to subscribers to let them know the same thing.  I just expect them to be super late into the next month.  The value this month is $34.00.  There were a few things I really enjoyed this time.  I have no idea what will show up in this bag and the themes never match what the website says so I’ll wait and see.

L.V.Kiki April 2017

L.V.Kiki is a monthly subscription box of 4-6 fashion accessories.  You can either sign up for the plans or if you want to see what type of things they send out you can order a one-off trial box.  The boxes may include jewelry, shoes, scarves, gloves, hats, legwear, belts, and hair accessories. Boxes start at $19.00 per month and shipping to here was less than $1.00 per month.  I was in the market for an accessories box and after finding a discount code for this one I got it at a great price. Shipping is always super quick and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

20170515_173628

Everything this month shipped in a large bag since one of the items was a bit awkward.

20170515_173640

Cover Girl Active Yoga Mat

I have a yoga mat somewhere in my house but I don’t use it.  We have carpet in our living room so I don’t tend to slip when attempting yoga or pilates.  I’m still happy to get another one though.  They are good to have on hand if I decide I want to get more serious about doing either of them.

20170515_173723

Cover Girl Active Flat Resistance Bands 3 Pack

This set includes heavy, medium, and light resistance bands.  I do not have any of these in my life and have been using some at my gymnastics so I think I can put these to use and work out a few times at home.

20170515_173750

This is a fringed shawl style poncho.  It has a great geometric pattern on it and I love the colours.   It will be a nice addition to a plain tee and jeans for an evening out in summer.

This makeup bag/pouch is probably my favourite thing from this month.  It is really big and you could easily get all you need for a weekend away in here.  The back is faux croc patterned.

20170515_173923

This giant ring makes me fell like a superhero.  It is so big it goes from knuckle to knuckle on my middle finger.  It also looks slightly like one of those bottle opener rings for men.

20170515_174020

This is a really pretty keychain.  I like the blue geode and it’s not super heavy either.  I don’t actually need any more keychains but I may have to switch one out because I think this one is great.

20170515_174127

There are three sets of earrings on this card.  The round ones are each a pair and the teardrops are the last pair.  I have used most of the earrings that they have sent out so I’m sure these will have the same fate.

All of the items come with the L.V.Kiki brand tags on them so there is no way to value them.  I have a few misses with items in these boxes but it’s just one of two of the things, never a whole box.   It almost seems like a steal at the prices I paid.  If the rest of my boxes are as good as this one was for me I will be more than happy.  I think this will be one of those boxes that is a great find!

Juneberry Box April 2017

Juneberry Box is a bi-monthly subscription box that sends out 4-5 full-sized lifestyle items.  These may include jewelry, accessories, make-up or wellness products.  They are a Canadian company as well.  Boxes start at $28.50 every two months but go down with longer plans.  Shipping within Canada is free.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get a code for $15.00 off a subscription.  Let’s check out what Juneberry has sent!

The box was heavier and more full than it has felt in a while.  I could see a few things that looked interesting on the first view but not a whole lot.

They have an info card that tells you the theme, Flower Power, and what the items are.  They said this theme was a throwback to their first ever box.

Looking Rosy Floral Pouch-$14.99

This is a cute little bag.  You could almost use it as a clutch.  It has a main zippered pocket under the flap and then the little pocket on the back.  It would be big enough for makeup or easily carry your phone and cards if you went that way.

20170430_183936

Assorted Floral Choker Necklaces-$3.99 x 2

I’m not sure how this look ever came back but I guess it is.  I’m too old to go for it and these are too small for my neck anyways.  One is flower lace and the other is a velvet band.

20170430_183848

Blossoming Ankle Socks-$2.99

These are a very cute pair of little socks.  I’ve received a few plain pairs like this before but never one that has been so patterned.  I have yet to find a pair of shoes that work with these type of socks but they are good for around the house.

20170430_183809

Springtime Scarf-$16.40

It seems like maybe there was an assortment of patterns sent out and I’m happy with the one that I received.  It is a pale peachy/pink and has black stars polka-dotted on it.  It is an infinity scarf and while I think I look odd every time I put on a scarf like this I do like it.

Forever Pink Manicure Set-$12.99

This is going straight to work with me.  I have been looking for such a perfect little kit to keep there to deal with the inevitable nail issues that I get.  It has clippers, tweezers, a file, and scissors to get you through almost anything that will come up.

They have been sending out very different things from month to month so it’s always a surprise what I’m going to find when I open this one up.  The value this month is $50.00.  Shipping is quick as well due to them being a Canadian company.  If you want to check them out click here.

Eternally In Amber March 2017

Eternally In Amber is a bi-monthly box that sends out hair accessories.  They promise the items to be both high quality and on trend.  They also have an online shop where you can grab items or add items into your box to save on shipping fees.  They have two box options, Basic, which has 2-3 items and Deluxe, which is 4-5.  They start at $15.00 a month and shipping for me was $4.00, which is really fair I think.  This is the first hair accessories boxes I have found and since I’m always looking for new things not only for myself but for Bug too I decided to give it a go.

The box always feels super light but there looks like there are a few fun things in there.

20170430_183026

There is a card included that tells you about why the items were chosen for the box and what items you will find in there.

Tortoise Shell Embellished Headband-$18.00

I don’t wear headbands all that often but this is a nice one that I can wear to work and have it not be too crazy.  It fits my head well and is not too tight, so it shouldn’t give me a headache after a few hours.

20170430_183124

Fushia Mosaic Bow Barrette-$10.00

I think this is so pretty! I am not sure if it matters which way I put this into my hair but it’ll just be put in as a decoration more than to actually hold my hair as it’s a little loose.

20170430_183137

Limited Edition Clip Set-$?

I received this set in Pink Abstract but you could have also got Black/Gold Swirl.  These are brand new to their lineup and they sent them out to subscribers first.  I like both of them and both of them have very tight grips.  I like the pink flecks in these, it just makes them more fun and carefree.

20170430_183107

Refreshing Hair Mist Sample-$?

This spray is made to add shine, moisture, and a delicate scent to your hair.  You once again could have received two different scents, Island Mist or Wild Rose.  I got the Wild Rose.  You need to shake it to blend it together and then just a good spray right onto your hair.

The box this time has a value of $28.00 plus the items I couldn’t value.  That is great for what you paid but I know that there is no way I would ever pay these prices for any of these items.  They are good quality and I will get lots of use from them.  I went with the Deluxe box and got the four items as promised this month.  I also had no issues with Customs this time.

L.V.Kiki March 2017

L.V.Kiki is a monthly subscription box of 4-6 fashion accessories.  You can either sign up for the plans or if you want to see what type of things they send out you can order a one-off trial box.  The boxes may include jewelry, shoes, scarves, gloves, hats, legwear, belts, and hair accessories. Boxes start at $19.00 per month and shipping to here was less than $1.00 per month.  I was in the market for an accessories box and after finding a discount code for this one I got it at a great price. Shipping is always super quick and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

This month was a fairly square box that showed up.  I could see a hat off the top but everything else was hidden.

20170308_174852

Since it was on the top I guess we’ll start with the hat.  It has a velcro adjustable back and a Navajo pattern for the front piece.  I’m not sure if this is trendy or not but I’ll wear it around the yard or camping and it will be fine for that.

Next out was a grey and white glasses case.  There was not a pair of glasses inside, so that’s a wee bit sad but it doesn’t hurt to have extra cases around the house.  Between my actual glasses and any sunglasses that I might relocate from last year, I can put this to use.

There was a smaller organza bag in there and inside it was three items.  We have a horizontal cross necklace, with “diamonds” on the cross.  I’ve seen this style around for a few years now and think it’s nice so I’m happy to get this.  Next is an owl keychain.  It has a pink stone for a body, diamonds for a head and eyes, and silver eyes and feet.  Last out of this bag is a blue and diamond bracelet.  The blue parts are patterned to look like woven rope.  Some of the paint has chipped off, showing the silver base below.  It doesn’t look too bad though and I may use this as we get closer to summer.

There was also a big bag of goodies.  Inside that one, we have a ginormous pair of silver hoops.  I don’t think the picture does them justice but they are big enough to sit just above my shoulders when I put them on.  There is a pair of blue and silver drop earrings.  I had received a pair of these in pink a few months ago and love them.  I am very happy to get another pair in a different colour.  The dragonfly hair clip will be good to use for work.  It’ll keep my hair out of the way and still add a touch of whimsy to my life.  Lastly, we have an infinity scarf with a pompon fringe.   I love the idea of scarves but I think I look odd when I wear them.  I guess I need to just get over that and leave them on while I leave the house instead of second guessing myself and taking them off.
