Unicorn Dream Box April 2018

Unicorn Dream Box is a monthly subscription that will help to satisfy any cravings you may have for all things unicorn.  They will send out a mix of makeup, stationery, decor, and accessories.  There will also be a treat in there.  They offer two different sizes of box, Dream Mail that will send 3-4 items and the Dream Box that sends out 6-9 items.  Boxes start at $19.95 and do go down with longer plans.  There is an additional shipping charge to Canada.  I happen to love unicorns so getting this box was a bit of a no-brainer for me.

My Dream Mail showed up in a mailer bag.  Inside of that, it was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap.  Once we got past that there was a bright rainbow bag that was holding the goodies.

They include an info card that tells you all of the items that you can expect to find in your bag and the value of those items.  There is also the social media links in case you want to get hold of them.

Unicorn Liquid Pencil Case-$12.00

This is amazing!  This pencil case has a water-filled front that is filled with stars and unicorns and other cutouts.  This makes me so happy you can’t even imagine.  I shall take it to work and drive my boss crazy with it!

Unicorn Nail Stickers-$12.00

These are pretty fun.  I never think to use nail stickers when I paint my nails but I might have to give the unicorns a try.  My nails might not be big enough to use many of them though.

Unicorn Pool Float-$16.00

I tend to see this as more of a beach ball then a float but that’s just me.  This is the most ridiculous and awesome thing I’ve ever seen.  I have no idea what I will do with it but it’s fun and I like it.

Star Pen-$3.00

This a black pen with a star cap.  Not much else to say about it but I love pens so this will join my collection.

Rainbow Erasers-$2.00

There are six little erasers in this bag.  They are mostly useless but very bright and I’ll line them up somewhere.

There were two pieces of candy on the box, the rainbow is gummy and then there is a twisted lollipop.  I never say no to candy so I’ve already eaten half of these.

This box is even greater than I was hoping it would be.  I love the items in it and the mix of things was perfect.  The box is just fun and whimsical and will give me a good blast of unicorn for the few months I receive it.  This month the box value was $48.00 which is nice compared to the price.  If you want to get your own bit of unicorns click here to go to CrateJoy and search them out.

Rosalette Beauty Bag March 2018

Rosalette Beauty Bag is a monthly subscription that sends out makeup and beauty products.  They offer a few different plans, either 4 sample sized products or 5-6 products, mixed between sample and full sized.  Plans start at $13.90 a month and there are added shipping costs.  If you subscribe for a year there are discounts.  I have no beauty bags left in my sub rotation so I was on the lookout for a cheaper one to get me some fun things.  I chose the Deluxe Bag, which is the bigger of the two.  They do send out shipping notices so that’s nice and it turns out that they are a Canadian company too!!!!  This month was also really late to arrive.

Not Soap, Radio Bubbles, not carbs-37.5mL $2.75

This body wash or bubble bath is made of grapefruit, guava, and mandarin to help you resist temptation.  If this stuff really works I’m going to cover myself in every single product made in this scent.  It does smell good and I’ve received two other samples from this same brand, in previous months, that had a great lather and that I enjoyed.

Sorme #901 Brush-$?

This brush doesn’t seem to be listed on their website but it is a nice fluffy powder brush.  The bristles seem synthetic but that doesn’t bother me.  I don’t really love getting brushes in my boxes but this brand seems to be good and the one I got last month is working out.

Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Lip Wand in Creme-$24.00

This lipstick has a built-in primer to help it last.  The shade is described as a soft tea rose.  It’s an okay colour but not the greatest for me.  I do like this brand though and have received many items from them in various boxes.

Manna Kadar Glo Illuminator-$29.00

I like this illuminator.  It provides a soft shimmer and isn’t crazy glittery.  The base is great for my skin tone and all you can see is the glow…..:)

Real Chemistry Fresh Start Foaming Cleanser-15mL $2.86

I’ve received many items from this brand before but never this product.  This is a cream type cleanser and it’s made to remove impurities and excess oil.   I’m almost out of the current cleanser I’m using so this has arrived at the right time.

This month is WAY better than the last few have been.  The value is high and the items are great.  There was a good mix of items and it’s nice to see the makeup back in the bag.  There still seem to be some issue with the fact that everything was just tossed into a mailer bag but at least it wasn’t the same as last month.  If you want to try out this subscription click here to go to CrateJoy and check them out.

iBeauty Box April 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.  They include full size and sample size products from brands you know and ones to discover.  You could get anything from nail care, hair care, skincare, jewelry, or candles to makeup.  I’ve been in the market for more of the beauty boxes that drew me into this for a while so when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a try.  Boxes start at $24.99 a month and go down very slightly if you subscribe for a longer term.  Shipping to Canada is included in that price.

They ship in a blue CrateJoy box with their label as a sticker on one side.  Inside I found everything packed in with squiggles to cushion it.

They have an info card included that tells you the products you received plus the value of those items.  It’s nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to.

Heartbeat Necklace-$29.00

I actually really like this necklace but feel that the price they have listed for it is high.  It has a tag on it that looks really cheap and like you might find this in the dollar store.  That being said I will wear it because I think it’s cool and just hope that it won’t turn my skin green.

Essential Tools Powder Brush-$7.99

This brush is awesome!  The bristles are super soft and will be great for spreading powder evenly.  I’m not normally a huge fan of getting brushes in boxes because I don’t replace them as often as they tend to arrive but this one I’m happy about.

TonyMoly I’m Real Facial Sheet Mask-$9.99

TonyMoly is a brand I love and I’m always happy to get anything in a box from it.  This is an aloe moisturizing sheet mask.  I never used to use sheet masks before I got into boxes but now they are my go to.  You can pop one on and still go about your day while it does its magic.

Menow True Lips Lip Liner Pencil in 050-$5.99

This lip liner is in a medium pink shade that will go really well with lots of different lipsticks.  I don’t wear lip liners all that often anymore but sometimes you need the added staying power that liner can give you.  This is an old-school pencil liner, no twist ups here.

Fashion Pen-$6.99

This is another item I think is overvalued.  It is very Spring-like and writes well though.

Jot Notebook-$8.99

I guess they are going heavy on the lifestyle aspect of the box this month.  This is a notebook and pen combo, not quite what you would expect in a beauty box.  It will be useful but I’d rather have received some more actual makeup.

The bonus samples this month are Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, (which I love!) and Face It Magic COver BB Cream.

I am rather surprised at the items I got in the box this month.  It wasn’t so much a beauty box and that is what I am hoping to receive.  The brush and the mask are great and it’s nice to get the bonus samples.  The value of the box this month is $68.95 plus sample packets.  I think that’s highly inflated and a bit of a letdown.  If you want to check out iBeauty Box or any other boxes on CrateJoy click here and start your search.

Lippie Box April 2018

LippieBox is a monthly subscription that sends out 5 new or trending lip and beauty products.  They say they are most popular among tweens and teens but I love lip products and think it’s going to be great.  Boxes start at $19.00 per month and there is a $7.00 shipping fee to Canada.  Prices do go down with longer subscriptions. The box itself is tiny and fits easily in your mailbox.

The box itself is pink and white with the logo on the top and the website on the sides.  Inside everything was packed well and there are squiggles under the items to keep them safe.

They do have an info card that tells you what you are getting, social media links, and the retail value of the item.  It’s nice that it’s all full colour and on card stock, so it’s bent but not destroyed by living in the box for shipping.

Chicken Poop Lip Junk-$4.00

As I’m sure you can guess there is no actual poop in the lip balm.  They sent it with a saying ” Grandpa says: If ya got dry lips put chicken poop on ’em so ya won’t lick ’em.”  It contains lavender and that is the main scent that comes out when you put it on. It also uses avocado oil and beeswax to give you soft lips.

Sun Crush Lips Organic Calendula Lip Balm-$3.75

This balm is supposed to soothe the worst lips.  It is made with Calendula flowers and I received the Orange Ginger flavour and it’s not something I would normally go for.  I’m not a huge fan of ginger.  It does feel nice on my lips though.

Breakups to Makeup Lipstick Pen-$?

This is slightly odd.  They seem to include one non-makeup item each month and this is it for April.  The kids will enjoy using this, I think it’s just a cute promo gimmick.

Lip Locker Lipstick-$4.99

This might look like a tube of lip balm but inside is a shimmery dark mauve lipstick.  From the info included they are just about to launch a DIY lipstick kit so you can create your own custom lipsticks.  This was a fun surprise to open up.

Naked Scrubs Naked Lemon Scrub-$5.00

This is a lip and body scrub made of natural ingredients.  It smells like fresh lemons and it’s a sugar scrub, which I prefer to a salt scrub.  This one is going in the tub right away.

I am very happy to have found this box.  I was a little concerned about getting a lip product only box as I have so much of it but the items in here are great and a good mix of things.  The value for this month is $17.74, an okay value.  You can visit CrateJoy by clicking here and check out this box and many others.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box April 2018

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies.  There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes.  Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there.  Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month.  I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books.  They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.

The flat box showed up around the same time again this month.  It looked a little messy inside but it does travel a long way to get here.

This month’s book is Kasia’s Surprise.  It is a novel about the summer break from school and the adventures of Kasia during that time.  It has a few Polish words and looks to be a good chapter book right at Bug’s current reading level.  It also has some images in the book to help with grasping the storyline.

I can’t remember what this little lizard guys name is, but he is very cute.  I see my girls playing with the Ooshies they have previously received all the time so that is a good thing.  So many little toys get played with and tossed aside.

The pencil crayon of the month is a lovely orange one and the sticker is there as normal.

Our four mystery items this month are a package of animal print scissors, a pack of Shopkins Trading cards (the kids love this game), Frozen Best Friends Necklace set, and a Frozen jewelry set that includes ring, bracelets, and necklaces.  We used to have scissors in this house, no clue where they ended up so getting more is a needed item.  There are lots of pieces of jewelry for the girls so there should be less fighting than normal…..who am I kidding?

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the crayons and pencils, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.
