Rosalette Beauty Bag February 2018

Rosalette Beauty Bag is a monthly subscription that sends out makeup and beauty products.  They offer a few different plans, either 4 sample sized products or 5-6 products, mixed between sample and full sized.  Plans start at $13.90 a month and there are added shipping costs.  If you subscribe for a year there are discounts.  I have no beauty bags left in my sub rotation so I was on the lookout for a cheaper one to get me some fun things.  I chose the Deluxe Bag, which is the bigger of the two.  They do send out shipping notices so that’s nice and it turns out that they are a Canadian company too!!!!

This bag showed up very late and there was no inner bag holding the items.  This bag has seemed to go downhill in the last little while and this was the lowest it’s been.

Manna Runway Ready Face Primer-$16.80 8mL

I love primers and this is one that I’ve never tried before.  It is quite a bit thicker than some of the other ones that are similar.  It goes on smooth though and doesn’t feel thick on my skin.  I think this will be a good coverage primer and look forward to using it.

Sorme Large Fluff Brush-$?

This brush is not listed on their website so I’m not sure about a value on it.  It is a soft eyeshadow brush.  I think it will be a good replacement for one of the brushes that I use now.

aBella Matte Liquid Lipstick in Laila-$?

The website for this company says they are not selling to customers right now as they upgrade their products.  That does make me wonder about this lipstick. Liquid lipstick is my nemesis.  I seem to be able to only make a giant mess with it.  Applying this one to test it out was no exception.  The colour is nice, slightly darker than I might normally wear for day to day but not crazy. I like that it is purple. It is a matte so it dries on your lips and becomes a battle to rub your lips together.  This probably means that it’ll stay on for a while though.  If I can get this one without looking like a clown I’m going to be wearing it.

Medusa’s Make-Up Eyeshadow in Electro Pink-$4.00

Part of me is all, OMG how am I ever going to wear neon pink eyeshadow, and the other half is, OMG I love it!  🙂  It is very bright and very glittery and that is what comes through when you actually put it on.  I’ve received a bit of Medus’s Make-Up before and it has always been great to work with and gives me good staying power.  I’m happy with this.

Akar Nutrient Boost Eye Serum-$?

I have no clue how big this tube is but a full bottle of this is $85 for 10mL.  This is made to reduce puffiness, dryness, and dark circles.  It is made with a bunch of oils and other ingredients to make a concentrated serum that has no fillers in it.

I am quite disappointed with the box this month.  Two of the items are duplicates, just in different shades and there seemed to be no care in tossing everything together in the bag. There is a good mix of beauty products and they’ve given me the makeup I’ve been missing from my other boxes.  You can find them on CrateJoy by clicking here and searching Rosalette.

iBeauty Box March 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.  They include full size and sample size products from brands you know and ones to discover.  You could get anything from nail care, hair care, skincare, jewelry, or candles to makeup.  I’ve been in the market for more of the beauty boxes that drew me into this for a while so when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a try.  Boxes start at $24.99 a month and go down very slightly if you subscribe for a longer term.  Shipping to Canada is included in that price.

They ship in a blue CrateJoy box with their label as a sticker on one side.  Inside I found everything packed in with squiggles to cushion it.

They have an info card included that tells you the products you received plus the value of those items.  It’s nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to.

Sterling Silver Teardrop Necklace-$35.99

This is a super cute necklace.  I really like it and it’s something that I will wear.  It’s bright silver and I hope it doesn’t fade or tarnish.  It doesn’t say where this is from but it’s a good start to the box.

Victoria’s Secret The One Luminous Cheek & Face Highlighter-$19.99

This is also fabulous!  It’s pale pink and shimmery and everything I love in a highlighter/blush.  I don’t often use a cream but I think I will start with this one.  It glides on smoothly and I really am in love with the shimmer.

Stowaway Mini Lipstick in Cranberry-$10.00

I had thought I  would find this to be way too red for me but I kinda like it.  It glided on nicely and it’s a perfect red that works.  I’ve never heard of this brand but if this is an example of it I hope to get more.

Colormates Eyeshadow Palette-$6.99

This is a 12 colour palette.  I am shocked to see it in this box even though it must be a drugstore brand because of the price.  All of these are shimmer shades and if you can’t tell, I really like glitter and shimmer so that makes this a win.

Six Sided Nail File and Buffer-$5.99

This seems like a useful tool to have.  I have a couple of these as individual tools but nothing like this that incorporates all of the things into one.

10 Professional Nail Lacquer-$5.99

There is no name on this but it’s colour number 443.  It’s a glorious shimmery purple that gave great coverage with just one coat.  This is another brand that is new to me.

I guess these are bonuses as none of them are listed on the card.  We have a Crystal Collagen Gold Powder Eye Mask, belif The True Cream, and Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads.  I think it’s great that they don’t include these in the value of the box but still toss them in to make us feel special that we got more things.

I am pleasantly surprised at the items I got in this box.  There were a few negative reviews but based on this box I am very happy.  They had a good mix of makeup and the skincare samples.  The value of the box this month is $84.95 plus sample packets.  That’s triple what I paid for the box, which is outstanding.  If you want to check this box out for yourself, you can head over to CrateJoy by clicking here.
