Bitchy Box TOM December 2017

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

20180128_194041

This was the Christmas box from Bitchy and that first look makes me think that they got at least a little festive up in here.

They have their standard little pamphlet in there.  On the front is the list of the items included for the month and where they can be found.  Inside are recipes for food and drinks. On the back is every possible social media link you could need to get hold of them.  There is also a code to get some discounts on wipes and a reminder that you can buy individual boxes too.

Harebrained “Staining Things” Period Panties-$12.99

These are probably the least favouite pair of these that they have sent out and that is only because I don’t watch the show.  All the good things about the period panties stand though.  They’re thick, comfy, don’t ride up, and have black material lining the inside.  These are festive though, I’ll give them that.

Beyond Belief Mint Candy Kiss Lotion-$?

This lotion is scented with all the things that make you think winter……and peaches.  The other scents in here are peppermint, cinnamon, and butterscotch.  The lotion soaks in really quick and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy at all.  I like it!

Snappers Caramel Brownie Snack-$15.00

These look amazing!!!!!  They are a pretzel, covered with a melty caramel fudge, and drizzled with dark chocolate.  They are a combination of the ultimate PMS relievers in one delicious mouthful.  I’m not sharing and these are going away in my special snack stash right now.

Starbucks Peppermint Hot Cocoa-$8.55

This is a great addition.  I like Starbucks Peppermint Cocoa and since these are just add water packs I can have them at work and avoid the coffee shop.

You Park Like A Bitch Cards

These are made up by the Bitchy Ladies and there is twelve business card sized little notes to make you feel better when faced with the other option of wanting to ram your shopping cart into other peoples cars.  I could have used one today as the scene below is what greeted me after getting groceries.  Let me just state that I was parked straight and had no issues getting me or my kid out of the car when I arrived and there was a car parked next to me.

Let’s just say there’d have been words if they’d come back before I’d left.  Fuckwit.

This month had another great selection of things.  I think that they really nailed the theme this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  I am not bothering with a value this month as half the box I can’t possibly price.  It’s enough to know that I’m happy and love everything!

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box January 2018

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies.  There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes.  Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there.  Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month.  I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books.  They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.

20180119_192835

This month the book is one the kids have never read before.  The My Favourite Fairytales series has been sent to us before and they are great stories, engagingly written.  These ones are at a level that Bug can ready with only a little help, so that is a bonus also.

20180119_192851

Once again there are no postcards but we got a navy blue pencil crayon and the sticker as normal.

20180119_192722

Our Ooshie is Clark Kent, with just a hint of Superman peeking out.  I feel like maybe he glows in the dark but we’ll have to wait a few hours to see if that happens.

Our selection of mystery items is amazing again this month.  First up was a Littlest Pet Shop Pets In The City blind bag.  Then there are tow Tsum Tsum, Chip from Chip & Dale and Mike from Monsters Inc.  Mike is Bears favourite character so she’s going to be thrilled.  The three little coloured animals are shaped crayons.  I think they are super cute and I can’t believe there is no damage to them or breaks for the distance they traveled and the fact there is no real padding in the box.  Next up is a Kylo Ren wristband.  I think my husband might actually steal this as he’s a big fan.  We have a Legend slap bracelet and a Barbie pencil case. These are both going to go over hugely.  It’s also great that they can store all the treasures they have in random corners and boxes and bags.  We finish off with another package of Disney Princess Trading Cards.

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the crayons and pencils, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

This box showed up well before Christmas and it’s my fault for not getting the post up.  This box had become one of my girls favoutites and I am glad to see it each month, as it gives them a bunch of things that make them happy and keep them occupied.

20180114_193821

The book this month is Rainbow Magic Kathryn The PE Fairy.  We have received other books in this series from them before and while they are just above Bug’s reading on her own level, she tries and gets most words or we read them together.  This one is about finding a lost magical star badge before it all goes sideways if the inspector arrives.  The inner pages are a little damaged but I think it might have just been from a few of the other things shifting around and it’s not critical.

20180114_193752

Our Ooshie this time is Batman!  He’s amazing and we love him.  These toys end up joining all the princesses and LOL dolls and living in some seriously palatial places.  I like that they are squishy and no one gets hurt when they inevitably fly at heads.

20180114_193812

There were no postcards this time but we did get the pencil and sticker.  I like that they send a different colour of pencil each time. Bug has also managed to master the pencil sharpener so they are shrinking at an amazing rate.

The extras are very Xmas themed, as they should be for a December box.  We have a sheet of Elf puffy stickers, a glitter glue set (what are they thinking????!!!! No parent wants glitter in their house), Elf paper straws, Elf caution tape, a package of Disney Princess trading cards, and a set of Novelty Christmas Rubbers, as the bag said. To be honest, I can’t stop giggling after typing that since rubbers here have a somewhat different meaning then they do in the UK.  No one said you were going to get mature on this blog.  This is a great mix of things and the girls will be so happy to explore and play with them.

Rosalette Beauty Bag December 2017

Rosalette Beauty Bag is a monthly subscription that sends out makeup and beauty products.  They offer a few different plans, either 4 sample sized products or 5-6 products, mixed between sample and full sized.  Plans start at $13.90 a month and there are added shipping costs.  If you subscribe for a year there are discounts.  I have no beauty bags left in my sub rotation so I was on the lookout for a cheaper one to get me some fun things.  I chose the Deluxe Bag, which is the bigger of the two.  They do send out shipping notices so that’s nice and it turns out that they are a Canadian company too!!!!

There is never an info card with this subscription but they do usually have the Thank You note and a reminder to tag them on social media using #rosalettebeauty. The bag looks to be heavily lip oriented this month.

Epic Blend Chocolate Vegan Lip Balm-$3.49

This lip balm is perfect for December here as it has been cold as all heck and my lips have suffered because of it.  This is made with all natural and mostly organic ingredients.  It is also gluten-free and non-GMO.  It has a distinctive chocolate smell and feels very nice on my lips.

aBella Matte Liquid Lipstick in Moody-$?

The website for this company doesn’t seem to exist right now but I did find reference to it on other blogs.  Liquid lipstick is my nemesis.  I seem to be able to only make a giant mess with it.  Applying this one to test it out was no exception.  The colour is nice, slightly darker than I might normally wear for day to day but not crazy.  It is a matte so it dries on your lips and becomes a battle to rub your lips together.  This probably means that it’ll stay on for a while though.  If I can get this one without looking like a clown I’m going to be wearing it.

20180105_193715

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Radiant Gold Leaf Highlighter-$22.00

This is a highlighter stick that contains real gold leaf particles.  You can use it anywhere you want to add a glimmer of shine.  It is vegan and 100% natural.  One little swipe gives you a whole lotta sparkle, it would be great for a night out.  I like glitter so I may even wear this to work and make people wonder about me.

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Liquid Lipstick in Man Hunt-$10.00

Once again my computer is against me and I cannot flip this image no matter what I do.  The other sad part is this is another liquid lipstick.  Why are they punishing me???  This is described on the site as a dark rich taupe….it’s not…it’s purple, and not the kind of purple I can pull off.  I made an even bigger mess trying to test this one out then the first one.  I don’t think I will wear this one very often if at all.

20180105_193728

Not Soap, Radio To Sleep Full Of Sweet Dreams Bubbles-$1.89

This is a body wash or bubble bath that will help provide anti-manic and stress relief through its scent of clementine and lavender. It smells very fresh and light.  I think it will make a nice bubble bath for me one of these cold, miserable nights.

I am sorta happy with this month’s offerings.  The soap is a duplicate from last month but in another scent and while I love lip products, both being one that I can’t apply does suck a little.  There is a great mix of beauty products and they’ve given me the makeup I’ve been missing from my other boxes.  The value of this month is $37.38 plus the other lipstick.  That is great and so much higher than the price of the box.  The shipping was quick as well since they are Canadian and only a province over from me.  If you want to try them out they have a coupon that will get you 10% off any subscription, just type ROSALETTE at checkout.
