Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over. In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies. There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes. Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there. Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month. I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books. They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.
The box is so slim and fits easily into my mailbox. Inside this month was an extra tissue to jazz up the box upon opening.
They do have a card in the box but it is telling you Thank You and listing all of their social media links, not the items in the box.
This month the book is Clare the Caring Fairy from the Rainbow Magic series. This book is a little more advanced than the ones we’ve received before, but as Bug has just had a birthday I think it will be good. It’s a chapter book so we can read one a night and it’ll give her a taste of things to come when she’s reading independently. This book is about caring for others and friendship which are good topics to remember as we go to school in a few weeks.
Our Ooshie is Batman. He’s awesome, even if my picture taking sucked on this one. The girls have been loving these and they mix them into their Shopkins for some cross-play.
There is the coloured pencil and postcards so you can have some creativity with your play. Bug usually draws a picture on the back of the cards and that works fine too.
There is a tonne of mystery items this time! We have another package of Princess cards, a silicone snap bracelet, some My Little Pony barrettes, Finding Dory Old Maid card game, and a Minions blind bag. I am starting to think the people who make this box have bugged my house. The girls are addicted to card games right now, we always need more barrettes with two long haired kids, Princesses are a win all the time, and Minions make everything better. They really do know their audience and send out things that are used and coveted.
This box is great fun. The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up. There is an opportunity for creativity with the postcards, learning with the book, and play with the rest. I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us. If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.
Love this review and so glad the girls love it 🙂
