Glorious Life Soap Of The Month June 2017

Glorious Life is a Canadian company that makes handcrafted soap, skin, and body care products.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  They make all their items in small batches and they are free from synthetic dyes and fragrances, preservatives, parabens, and phthalates.  They are all gluten free and most of them are vegan as well.  They offer 4, 6, and 12-month subscriptions, starting at $25.00, including shipping to Canada.  I was looking for something different and was happy to stumble across this one.

This one ships itself out in a normal letter envelope so they enclose the soap in a cardstock to protect it.  They also add a little note on each one.

Sensitive Shampoo Bar-$5.00

There was a little bit of a surprise this month as what fell out was not a bar of soap but a bar of shampoo.  I have never used a shampoo bar before so I am very happy that they added the instructions along with it.  It does say you may need to give it a few tried to get your hair used to the new routine and the lack of chemicals on it.

I’m really glad to support a Canadian company and enjoy handcrafted bath products.  This is an inexpensive way to get a great selection of soaps and after browsing their site there is definitely a few soaps I’m hoping will show up in my mailbox.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get 15% off your purchase and they have also sent me a code to get 3% off any further purchases from the site.

Terra Bella Box May 2017

Terra Bella Box is a monthly subscription that sends out 3 to 4 natural beauty products.  They also offer a Makeup version that has 3 items in it.  You can get a monthly plan or 3 and 6 month plans in either version.  Boxes start at $32.95 a month and there is a shipping fee to Canada.  That is way, way more than I want to pay for a box and so I had refrained from getting this one until I found it on 50% off for Mother’s Day.  I went with the standard box and they always ship out the Welcome Box as your first one so you get an idea of what you can expect from them and you can get your first one quickly.

The little changes that happen as I get into the layers until I find the items.  Everything was well packed and arrived safely intact.

There is an info card in the box.  It tells you about the items that you will find inside, where you can get more, the value of the item, and a little bit about each one.  Something must have changed at some point since the bottom two items have been covered with a sticker with different ones.

Lizush Natural Grapefruit Soap Bar-$8.50

This soap smells great!  It is a cleansing and moisturizing and good for all skin types. It is vegan, non-GMO, and free of synthetic chemicals, parabens, alcohol, and sulfates.  I can read and know what every ingredient in this soap is.  I think the little bag packaging is a great touch as well.

Clean Living Collection Flowers and Mud Mask-$18.00

This little jar has enough powder in it to do ten masks.  It has a blend of two separate clays and three flowers to sooth skin and fight acne and aging.  It is certified organic.

Cultivar Organic Deeply Nourishing Daily Moistuizer-$48.00

This is an oil based moisturizer. Even though I know oils are good for my skin I still get a little freaked out to put something on my skin that I’ve spent years trying to not have.  It does smell strongly of the lavender that’s in it but it doesn’t feel greasy once it’s absorbed.  Not only is this organic and vegan but they use wind power for all of their electricity needs.

Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Organic Intensive Skin Therapie-$11.50

This is a very thick cream that can be used to soothe and heal dry cracked skin.  It comes out of a pump and then can be spread around and rubbed in.  It is 99% organic.

For my very first box from them, I am very happy.  I had always thought the items I’d seen others getting were good and now that I’ve tried it I can be certain.  The value of this months box is $86.00, which would be good if I’d paid full price and is great with the deal I used.  I don’t normally purposefully seek out natural products but they do work great and it can’t be bad for me to use them.

Bitchy Box TOM May 2017

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

There was nothing to see at the first glance in this box.  After pulling out the info card and peeling back the paper I could definitely see things that peaked my interest.

Harebrained “Crimson Wave” Period Panties-$9.00

These ones are not my absolute favourite ones that they have on their site but they are still fun.  The idea is a play on a line from Clueless.  I have high hopes for some of the next ones that I might receive.

Fred and Friends Tea Infuser-Manatea-$10.00

This is a great little infuser.  I actually already have one of these but since my Hubby is currently using it, this way I get my own back.  You just fill it up with loose tea and hang him on your cup.  Cute and useful….kinda like my husband I guess.

Loose Leaf Karma Tea Sampler in Rishi Hibiscus-$1.99

Conveniently with the infuser, they have sent out a loose leaf tea to use in it.  There were five possible blends you could receive. These are all made by hand from an Etsy shop and since I do drink a cup of tea every night (even in the summer) I like knowing I am not in danger of running out.

Tony Moly I’m Real Seaweed Sheet Mask-$3.00

Tony Moly is probably my favourite Asian beauty brand.  Everything I’ve tried from them has been great and they have the cutest packaging ever.  This mask is for skin purifying and contains seaweed extracts to get that job done.

Mike and Ike Sour-Licious Green Apple Candy-$2.91

This was supposed to be a scalp massager but they were late in receiving them to add to the boxes and so sent out a message letting us know that they would ship them later and to enjoy the extra candy they added in instead.  I’m okay with the switch and since the massager will show up at some point, I’m not concerned.

Sweet’s Salt Water Taffy-$0.97

I love salt water taffy and to get this bag of it and have it still be soft and wonderful is great.  I can’t wait to have a few pieces and enjoy them.

Blue Q Socks Pizza Fixes Everything Ankle Socks-$9.99

These are not on the info card either so I’m not sure if they are a bonus or just more replacement for the massager.  They are fun and I love crazy socks so these are perfect for me.

I could not for the life of me get this to load at the top of this post but I’m glad it’s there now.  The info card lists your items and inside has some recipes based on the theme.  They also list all of their social media links.

This month had another great selection of things.  I think that they really nailed the theme this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  The value this month is $37.86.  Finally we get a box that meets the value paid!  I’m not sure if it was a glitch because if the extras of what but I’m happy.

Earth Wax and Fire May 2017

Earth Wax and Fire is an Israeli subscription that sends out an artisanal candle and a matching ceramic bowl.  You can get a month-to-month plan, or go for a 3,6, or12-month plan.  Plans start at $27.00 a month but go down with the longer ones.  Shipping to here was an additional $11.00 a month.  This normally would be above my comfort price but I signed up on Mother’s Day weekend and they had a 50% code for a 6-month plan.  That definitely made the decision easier.  I have a candle burning every evening so I am on the lookout for them always.  The pictures they have on their site were beautiful so I have hopes for this box.

The box arrived well wrapped.  Inside of the outer wrapping and mailing information was this branded box.  Inside that were more presents.  For my first box, they send me an email with a bunch of options of past boxes that I could choose from so that they could ship me out something quickly.  All of the options looked amazing and I don’t think it would have mattered which one I chose, though I went with Ancient Sea Glass.

They threw in a personal note expressing that they hoped I enjoy what I’ve received.

There are info cards for each of the items that are in the box.  This is a very professional way of getting a lot of information across about each thing and looks great.

These are the two packages that were inside the box.  At this point, I could smell the most amazing scent coming from these.  They have done a beautiful job in making this box special.

Spring “Flower Of The Alps” Candle

This candle smells amazing!!!!!  It was handmade by a shop called Spring Perfume House in Israel.  It is a blend of hyacinth blossoms, cedarwood, bergamot and clary sage.  You would think with all that it would be girly and floral but it is not in any way.  It reminds me of a good men’s cologne actually.  This candle has a 40 hour burn time.

Handmade Ceramic “Sea Glass” Bowl & Byzantine Sea Glass

This bowl is made by Vered of VIBceramics.  It is dishwasher safe and food safe.  They want you to use it as a candle holder for the candle and then give you a list of other possible uses once that is done.  The little rocks are actually 800-year-old pieces of glass produced during the Byzantine period and then shaped and polished by the sea until they were found again.  I know they are small but it gives me great pleasure to hold something that old, made by another human, in my hand.

I am so impressed with this box.  The level of detail provided and the care in selecting and packing it is first class.  They have reached out a few times to see what my choices would be and been polite and friendly each time.  I know this is a slightly higher priced subscription when it’s not on sale but I honestly believe it would be worth it.  You can currently save 10% off a plan using the code SAVE10 at checkout.

LookFantastic Beauty Box May 2017

Look Fantastic Beauty Box is a box from the UK and you will receive a minimum of six products.   Those products will be an assortment of skin, hair, cosmetic and body products.  There also are sometimes high-value surprises added to a few boxes randomly.  They promise to have a much higher value than what you pay each month as well.  They have free worldwide delivery on the boxes or things you order from the website. Boxes are $26 a month but go down with 3,6 or 12-month subscriptions.  Shipping was pretty quick for overseas and I received tracking notices as well.  The stuff I’ve been getting in this box has been really nice.  This one was a find and I really enjoy it.  I had ended my subscription but with the exchange rate being better right now and the fact that I love this box I signed back up.

The box has changed again this month.  It is larger and the ElleUK magazine was inside of it.

The mini mag has all the items, articles on skin care, tips, and lifestyle interests.  The Elle magazine has already been recycled.

James Read Gradual Tan H2O Tan Mist-30ml $?

If there is one thing I’ve decided from getting boxes from the UK it’s that they take their fake tan seriously.  The whole summer months are filled with receiving tanning products. This smells pretty good, doesn’t leave a greasy film, and while there was no noticeable difference in skin tone right after spraying it on I’m sure it’ll up with continued use.

System Professional Solar Oil-30ml $18.00

This hair oil is made to protect against UV rays, tame flyaways, and smooth frizz.  It smells amazing and I think will be great for summer.  I’m always a little concerned about adding oil to my hair as it’s very fine and oils can make it look dreary and droopy.

Scrub Love Coconut Cranberry Body Scrub-100g $?

This scrub is good for all skin types and exfoliates gently.  It has coconut flakes, cranberry oil, cranberry fruit powder, and coconut oil.  I like scrubs and always forget to use them more often than I do.  I’ll need to toss this in the shower right away.

Mellow Baked Eyeshadow in Peach-$10.62

This is a beautiful shade of shadow that I will be wearing for sure.  It has a very gentle shimmer that will be perfect for me.  This is definitely a summer shade that I will be wearing all the time.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel-7ml $?

This is the face peel from the same company as the body peel I got in a box last month.  This works very well but you need to get past the slightly creepy factor of watching your skin melt off.  It makes a noticeable difference in m skin tone and texture andI like using it.

Glov Hydro Demaquilage-$?

This is a wipe like sponge that is used with water to cleanse your skin.  It lasts for up to three months and you don’t need any cleansers added.  It says it will make you glow and is suitable for all skin types.

Nuface Prep-N-Glow-Bonus

I’m listing this as a bonus item since it’s not listed in the book at all.  This is a cloth that cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates skin.  It is dual sided and has antioxidants as well.

I’m not doing a value this month as many of the items I was unable to price off their site.  I like that they’ve added a bonus item for the second month in a row.  The mix of items was great, once again. The best part about LookFantastic is that they have sales all the time and free worldwide shipping so if you want more of anything or find other things on their site it’s simple to get.  I’m really glad I went for them again and the new billing procedure is simpler than before so there are no worries there.  If you are looking for a beauty box to try, this would have to be my recommendation, hands down.

LoveLula Beauty Box May 2017

LoveLula Beauty Box is a UK box that is filled with natural beauty products and brands without having to purchase the full sized versions first.  Individual boxes are $52.50 British Pounds a month or a yearly option of $210 British Pounds.  That price includes the shipping fee.  I have had great luck with the other British box I get so while the British exchange was down a bit I went ahead and got this one.

The box that showed up this month was slightly longer than normal but everything still arrived in one piece and cushioned by squiggles.

They include an info card that tells you about the discount you can use to buy items from the brands included and the other side tells you about the items actually in the box.

Ogario London Styling Mist-60ml $27.86

This is actually the size they sell on the website.  I had thought it was a sample size.  This hairspray is used to add volume and give you slight hold for natural looking hair.  It has lemon zest, oats, and honey in it to add shine and strength.  They recommend you use it on damp hair and then style as normal.  It smells pretty good and doesn’t feel sticky as it’s drying.

Laidbare DIY!-125ml $12.12

This is a two-in-one cleanser and toner.  It will be nice to be able to skip a step in the mornings and make my routine just a hair quicker using this.  It is suitable for all skin types and will help to reduce inflammation, tone, and strengthen the skin.  It is a clear gel with a bright and fresh scent.

PHB Gentle Moisturiser-50ml $29.51

This moisturizer is very thick and yet absorbs super quickly.  It smells like fresh cut flowers and I love that!  It says it is gentle enough for sensitive skin and that the ingredients will leave you feeling smooth and protected.

John Masters Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo-30ml $3.74

This smells strongly of the herbs in it.  It is an organic shampoo and should clean without making your hair worse than when you started.  I have a lot of hair so this little bottle is only about two washes so I’ll need to save it for a special occasion.

John Masters Citrus & Neroli Detangler-30ml $3.74

I am sooooo happy that they sent a conditioner along with the shampoo.  This conditioner uses natural vegetable oils to add benefits to the hair.  It says you can also this as a leave in conditioner.

The LoveLula box is always nice.  It is full of skincare products but that is mostly what they have on their site so it’s not a surprise.  The value this time is $76.97 and there were three full sized items. I’m not always going to seek out natural products but everything I’ve tried has worked well and if I had a complaint, it would be that some of them have quite strong smells that I don’t particularity enjoy.
