Earth Wax and Fire is an Israeli subscription that sends out an artisanal candle and a matching ceramic bowl. You can get a month-to-month plan, or go for a 3,6, or12-month plan. Plans start at $27.00 a month but go down with the longer ones. Shipping to here was an additional $11.00 a month. This normally would be above my comfort price but I signed up on Mother’s Day weekend and they had a 50% code for a 6-month plan. That definitely made the decision easier. I have a candle burning every evening so I am on the lookout for them always. The pictures they have on their site were beautiful so I have hopes for this box.
The box arrived well wrapped. Inside of the outer wrapping and mailing information was this branded box. Inside that were more presents. For my first box, they send me an email with a bunch of options of past boxes that I could choose from so that they could ship me out something quickly. All of the options looked amazing and I don’t think it would have mattered which one I chose, though I went with Ancient Sea Glass.
They threw in a personal note expressing that they hoped I enjoy what I’ve received.
There are info cards for each of the items that are in the box. This is a very professional way of getting a lot of information across about each thing and looks great.
These are the two packages that were inside the box. At this point, I could smell the most amazing scent coming from these. They have done a beautiful job in making this box special.
Spring “Flower Of The Alps” Candle
This candle smells amazing!!!!! It was handmade by a shop called Spring Perfume House in Israel. It is a blend of hyacinth blossoms, cedarwood, bergamot and clary sage. You would think with all that it would be girly and floral but it is not in any way. It reminds me of a good men’s cologne actually. This candle has a 40 hour burn time.
Handmade Ceramic “Sea Glass” Bowl & Byzantine Sea Glass
This bowl is made by Vered of VIBceramics. It is dishwasher safe and food safe. They want you to use it as a candle holder for the candle and then give you a list of other possible uses once that is done. The little rocks are actually 800-year-old pieces of glass produced during the Byzantine period and then shaped and polished by the sea until they were found again. I know they are small but it gives me great pleasure to hold something that old, made by another human, in my hand.
I am so impressed with this box. The level of detail provided and the care in selecting and packing it is first class. They have reached out a few times to see what my choices would be and been polite and friendly each time. I know this is a slightly higher priced subscription when it’s not on sale but I honestly believe it would be worth it. You can currently save 10% off a plan using the code SAVE10 at checkout.
