Mighty Fix February 2017

Mighty Fix is a monthly subscription that sends you one product a month that can help your family live healthier.  Boxes start at $10.00 per month and there is a slight discount for a yearly join.  Shipping to Canada is $3.00 per month and free to the US.  You also have the option to add any items from their shop to your order each month with no extra shipping fees.  They also send out emails with member only deals on items all through the month.  This was another one I had really wanted to try but they’ve only recently opened up shipping to Canada.  Once I found that out I jumped on board to see what I could get that would make my life healthier and hopefully easier too.

20170220_141334Once again this sub showed up in a mailer bag.  It was really flat and light so I wasn’t sure what I would find inside at all.

There is an info card that tells you about the item.  On the back is a recipe for Honey-Sweetened Blueberry Jam.  It is so simple and only has three ingredients so I might be able to handle it.

There is also a card with a code to get one month free.  It’s only good for the first person who uses it but if you want to give this subscription a try then please feel free to go ahead and use this!

Bee’s Wrap Sustainable Food Storage-$19.05

There are two sizes of wraps in this package, a 13″x14″ and a 10″x11″.  Once again I’m going to take the blurb from the website since they have all the facts down perfectly.  “Wrap bread, cheese, vegetables, and cover a bowl! Keep bread fresh without plastic! Wrap a crusty loaf of bread from the market or your own homemade with Bee’s Wrap. Use the warmth of your hands to mold the Bee’s Wrap creating a seal when cool the wrap stiffens holding its shape. Keeps food fresh naturally! Bee’s Wrap is the perfect alternative to plastic wrap for food storage….. an easy way to do something good for the environment and yourself.  Bee’s Wrap is an old fashioned solution that feels miraculous in the modern world! Bee’s Wrap is made with organic cotton muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil, and tree resin. The antibacterial properties of the beeswax and jojoba oil help to keep food fresh and allow you to use the Bee’s Wrap again and again. It is not recommended for meat. Wash your Bee’s Wrap in COOL water with a mild dish soap, air dry, fold, and store in a drawer or in a basket on the counter.”  It feels very odd to the touch, almost like the paper that used to be in my Baba’s cupboards.  I’m hoping that I will use this but I’m not sure how I really feel about it.  It is very neat and useful and it will require a change in thought but I will have to take the leap and go for it.

I’m less happy with this months offering than last month but it’s still good. I’m getting to try some things I’m sure I would never just buy and they are easy ways to make simple changes to try and keep my home and family in better health.  I’m glad that they opened up to Canada and can’t wait to see what other crazy things they send me next.
