Miss Tutii TutiiBag January 2017

Miss Tutii is an Asian beauty subscription that offers a few different options.  You can choose from the TutiiBox, TutiiBag, or the TutiiMask.  Plans start at $12.00 and there is a shipping charge to Canada.  They ship out popular or trending items from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.  Your package may include skincare, makeup, hair care, beauty tools, or body and you can expect 4-5 deluxe or full sized items.   The TutiiBag is just a smaller version of the TutiiBox so if you subscribed to both you will get duplicates.

TutiiBag ships in this fun pink bubble mailer.  Inside of that is the organza bag that holds all your goodies for the month.

20170221_194850Thankfully this month they went back to the normal card which tells me all sorts of things about the items inside.  It has the all important English instructions that help tremendously.

20170221_194935Lador Hydro LPP Treatment-$12.00

This is a bottle, tube? of conditioner.  It is made for dry and damaged hair and has collagen in it.  It promises to help your hair be lustrous and shining.  It is very thick and more like a mask but I think it will make a big difference.

20170221_194919Too Cool For School Coconut Milky Body Scrub Samples-7g $0.70 x 2

These packets have a scrub made from the whole coconut.  The shell does the exfoliating, the water, oil, and butter polish and adds a barrier to keep you moisturized and dewy.

20170221_194906Goodal Waterest Lotus Water Cleansing Tissue-$9.00

I tend to use these as eye makeup removers more than cleansing cloths.  Sometimes I do use them as intended if I have a later night or just can’t be bothered to do the whole cleansing routine that would be normal.

20170221_194949It’s Skin Nail Styler in Nudie-$5.00

This is a great natural shade of polish for times when you want a polish but not a crazy colour.  It is very smelly with that scent that every woman knows but that doesn’t bother me.  I like this shade and will use it for sure.

20170221_194958The Saem Pure Natural Mask Sheet-$3.00

This mask uses ginseng to provide concentrated nutrition.  It doesn’t tell me anything more than that in English so I don’t know what kind of nutrition and I don’t know what else this will do for me but I use a mask once a week and this one will join the lineup.

I’m still liking this bag! The items are useful and there is a good mix of products.  I did get makeup this month, so that’s a bonus.  There is nothing in this one that I would want to swap so I’ll have to try that feature out later.  This month value is $30.40.   I like getting the Asian beauty products and it’s been a while since I got many so this subscription should be a fun one.

Miss Tutii Tutiibag December 2016

Miss Tutii is an Asian beauty subscription that offers a few different options.  You can choose from the TutiiBox, TutiiBag, or the TutiiMask.  Plans start at $12.00 and there is a shipping charge to Canada.  They ship out popular or trending items from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.  Your package may include skincare, makeup, hair care, beauty tools, or body and you can expect 4-5 deluxe or full sized items.   The TutiiBag is just a smaller version of the TutiiBox so if you subscribed to both you will get duplicates.

20170130_180607Inside of a bright pink bubble mailer bag, you will find this organza bag.  It is usually filled pretty well and this month is no different.

20170130_180623On the back of the card, you can see in the first picture is an instruction sheet on how to use a face mask.  They give you tips on the ways to use them and also how to finish off so you feel fully rejuvenated.

20170130_180640Holika Holika Soothing Gel 99% Aloe

Normally the back of the card tells you about the items so I’m going to have to guess on them this time.  This aloe gel will be useful in the summer for treating over-sunned skin.  It soaked in fast and didn’t leave any residue.

20170130_180652Zymogen Serum

This seems to be a fermented serum.  It is thin like a toner so that’s how I’m going to use it.  It does have a strong scent but since it’ll be under many other layers of creams and potions I have no problem with it.

20170130_180709Saemmul Real Tint

I think this is a lip stain.  It becomes pretty permanent once you apply it so I guess if you used it for a cheek tint or on your lips you best get it right the first time.  It is a darker pink shade but works well for me on my lips.

20170130_180718A’pieu Sweet Peach Hand Cream

This smells amazing!  It is so light and fresh and peachy.  I want to wear this all the time now that I’ve put it on.  This one is not going to get shoved to the side but used up once I get it on my shelf.  Just wow!

20170130_180727Dearpacker Jeju Flower Mask

I can tell you nothing about what this mask will do for me as all of the writing on it is not in English.  It is a sheet mask I can tell from the pictures and I leave it on for 10-20 minutes but that’s all I got.

I’m still liking this bag! The items are useful and there is a good mix of products.  I did get makeup this month, so that’s a bonus.  There is nothing in this one that I would want to swap so I’ll have to try that feature out later.  This month value is unknown.   I like getting the Asian beauty products and it’s been a while since I got many so this subscription should be a fun one.

Paper & Pen January 2017

Paper & Pen is a monthly subscription box that promises to send out 3-4 paper goods and supplies each month.  They pick items from around the globe and send those unique items to you.  Boxes start at $20 a month but go down with longer plans.  Shockingly for me, shipping is free!  Let’s see what they sent out!

20170130_180814Everything showed up in its regular paper wrap, inside of a bubble envelope.  Once I got in here I could see a theme of coffee making itself known.

20170130_180828After Coffee Notepad-$10.79

This is a cute to-do list notepad.  It has 50 sheets in it and is 4X5.5″.  I work in an office and everyone knows nothing happens before 1st coffee!  This will be fun to use to keep track of things I need to get done.

20170130_180843Letterpress Card by Bremelo Press

This is a great card!  Sometimes you just need a card that doesn’t ooze sappy but gets the message across.  I almost want to use this as a poster instead of a card, I like the statement that much.

20170130_1808582017 Coffee Spirit Animal Hanging Calendar-$14.00

This is a wood calendar.  It is very thin and flexible and made of Birch.  This is very different from anything I’ve ever had and while I don’t agree with the coffee part I think I can get over that.

I’ve been happy with this box.  There is not a tonne of stuff in it but that was made clear in their info. I was able to find pricing for two items this month and both are small businesses.  I like that some of the products are from smaller companies and Etsy companies.  It shows that they really do search out interesting items instead of just buying lots off Amazon.

Love With Food Deluxe January 2017

Love With Food is a monthly subscription box that sends out organic, all-natural, or gluten free snacks.  They want to help you to “Snack smart and Do good.”  They donate a portion of their proceeds to organisations that help end child hunger.  They offer three box types but only two are available in Canada.  You can get the Deluxe box or the Gluten Free box, starting at $16.50 a month.  Shipping right now is $3.99 a month since they just opened up international shipping.  If you really like your coworkers they have an office box for $99.  You’ll get 16-20 snacks a month,  meals given to children, and points earned to redeem for boxes or snacks.  I love getting snacks in the mail and to find ones that won’t completely destroy my weight loss attempts is a good thing.  I’ve been watching this one for a while and was so glad they now ship to Canada.  Let’s open it up and see if the wait was worth it.

I’m getting closer to where I should be with this box!  This is January’s and I was a little concerned since the right side of the box looks like it was soaked with something.  Opening it up, I could see nothing damaged or leaking so I guess it was all good.

The theme for this month is Seize The Day.  It’s all about making changes and resolutions by implementing new routines and habits.

20170224_194722Honey Stinger Kids’ Organic Waffle

I have no idea what kind of odd waffle this is but it’s chocolate.  It has no artificial colours, preservatives, flavours, or HFCS.  It kind of seems like it’s an energy bar.

20170224_194730Goodie Girl Quinoa Choco-Chip Cookies

I’ve had these before and while they will never take the place of a “real” chocolate chip cookie, they do in a pinch.  They are gluten free and only 130 calories for the package.

20170224_194744Emmy’s Organics Organic Coconut Cookie

They sent two flavours of this, vanilla bean and dark cacao.  They feel like a chewy cookie through the package.  I like coconut and I’m hoping these will be similar to a macaroon.

20170224_194813Silettante Chocolate Covered Toffee

They always seem to include a group of small candies in the box.  This month there is three of these in Creamy Latte, Mocha, and Espresso.  I guess that makes them coffee candies.  These will be good when I just need a quick fix to get me through a craving.

20170224_194823Creme de Piroline Cream Filled Wafers

OMG!!!! I love these things!  You can normally only find them at Christmas around here and I never buy them because I will eat the whole package at one time.  This is a little pack of two, with a dark chocolate filling.  I’m going to hide these away and savour them one day when I get a few minutes alone.

20170224_194833Red Plate Foods Free From Vegan Granola

This granola looks good.  It is made wit oats, applesauce, cranberries, maple syrup, and some spices.  I think this will be delicious added to my morning yogurt and might be more filling than the plain yogurt I’ve been eating.

20170224_194841Aloha Daily Good Greens Dietary Supplement

I have stopped drinking smoothies so I’m not sure when I will use this up.  It is chocolate flavoured.  I simply canot just add it to water and drink it.

20170224_194857Door County Original Potato Chips

Who doesn’t love chips?  These are kettle chips that have only three ingredients, potatoes, sunflower oil, and salt.  I’m hoping these are super crisp and salty, just the way chips should be!

20170224_194918Dave’s Sweet Tooth Crunch

I have had the milk chocolate version of this before and holy cow it’s good.  The peanut butter one is probably just as good.  I’m both sad and glad that the packages are small this time.

20170224_194929Thinables Cinnamon Swirl Cookies

These look interesting.  This whole bag only has 100 calories!  They feel super tiny through the packaging but as long as the taste is big, that’s what matters.

Truvia Sweetener Samples

They sent out a box of seven packets of granular sweetener and 2 packets of Nectar.  I have a confession to make…..I think stevia tastes horrible.  I have never tried this brand before but I’m so wary!  The Nectar might be better since it’s blended with honey but stevia changes the taste of everything you put it in.  It tastes to me like a chemical even though I know it’s less of one then whatever makes up Splenda.

20170224_194952Bitsy’s Brainfood Smart Crackers

These organic Maple Carrot Crisp crackers are puzzle shaped so you can play with your food as you eat.  They have Vitamins A, B, C, and D and are non-GMO and nut free.I’m not sure if the girls will eat them but I know I probably will.

20170224_195110Prince of Peace Ginger Candy and Ginger Honey Crystals Instant Tea

I know ginger candies are good for you but I don’t really like the taste of them.  I think I might save these for a day I feel nauseated.  The instant tea will probably be good but again it would not be my first choice.

My sisth box gave me even more of the things I love to eat.  I am so happy to be getting this box and finding snacks that are at least in the realm of better for me.  They have great shipping notices and the boxes come wrapped in plastic so no one can peek in and nab your snacks.

Geek Fuel Welcome Box

Geek Fuel is a monthly mystery box that caters to the nerds, geeks, and gamers.  Every month they ship out a t-shirt, games, and collectables.  There is a code for a downloadable game, exclusive gear, everyday items, and some neat collectables.  This is actually a box that ships from the UK, so I have high hopes of fueling my Doctor Who and Sherlock obsessions.  Boxes start at $29.90 a month, shipping included.  I had held off on getting this one for a long time because that is higher than I like to spend on a box a month but then it showed up on Groupon so I jumped on it.  You got a welcome box plus three months of regular Geek Fuel boxes for $75.00.  The deal doesn’t seem to be on anymore but I would keep checking if you’re interested since they do get repeated occasionally.

This was the Welcome Box part of my deal.  They promised a value of $75, which is higher than the $50 that would be a normal box.   The first look seems promising so I’m excited to see what’s in there under what I can see.  There was not an info card but I’m thinking that is because this is not a regular box.

20170206_173626Dragon Egg Toothbrush Holder & Storage Kit-$15.99

This is  Game Of Thrones item.  It has two different top options so you can use it as a toothbrush holder or just a jar with a plain lid.  Having a glass holder in a house with two young children is not really a great plan so I think I’ll take this to work and use it to hold candy on my desk instead.

20170206_173710Luckslinger Downloadable Game & Lucky Wooden Dice

This game is a cross between a spaghetti western and hiphop.  You need to be a gunslinger and also lucky.  You can collect, steal, use, or win luck.  You somehow use the dice to help yourself along in the game.  I haven’t downloaded it yet but maybe when I have a holiday booked it’ll be fun to try for a while.

The Raven Poem Kit-$9.99

This is quite cool actually!  It opens up and has a copy of the poem in a book and a raven figurine that says “Nevermore”.  It’s small, only about 4″ x 3″ overall.

20170206_173759Caveman Craig Downloadable Game-$10.00

This has a code on the back to get you the game.  It is a strategy/RTS game where you have to contribute to the survival of your tribe.  You hunt, gather, and prepare as you try to survive.  This one seems more like one I’d play so it might get downloaded faster than the other one.

Pin

I’ll be honest, I have no clue what this is.  I can tell it’s a pin but what show or game it represents I don’t know.

Alien Playing Cards-$12.93

You can always use more playing cards in a house.  Surprisingly I enjoy the Alien movies.  This is a neat addition to the box.

20170206_173938Epic Enamels Temple Edition Pin-$7.99

This little guy is cute but pins are not really my thing.  The Indy theme is lovely, though.

These are two cards for Uncharted 4, which I’m guessing is an upcoming game.

20170206_174049X-Men Apocalypse T-Shirt-$20.00

This wouldn’t be my favourite shirt I’ve ever received but it’s nice to have been able to choose both the size and the style of shirt.

I’m pretty happy with this welcome box.  I’m not sure if it’s representative of what a regular box will be like but it had a good mix of things in it and it shows all the different types of things that may show up.

Mighty Fix January 2017

Mighty Fix is a monthly subscription that sends you one product a month that can help your family live healthier.  Boxes start at $10.00 per month and there is a slight discount for a yearly join.  Shipping to Canada is $3.00 per month and free to the US.  You also have the option to add any items from their shop to your order each month with no extra shipping fees.  They also send out emails with member only deals on items all through the month.  This was another one I had really wanted to try but they’ve only recently opened up shipping to Canada.  Once I found that out I jumped on board to see what I could get that would make my life healthier and hopefully easier too.

20170127_171932They ship out in a bag mailer.  It is an easy way to cut down on shipping costs and as long as it arrives, I could care less what they pack it in.

They include an info card that tells you about what you received each month and why it’s good for you.  On the back is a recipe for laundry soap and stain remover.  It matches up with what we got and is a nice addition to help you use the item.

20170127_1720223-Pack Wool Dryer Balls-$16.99

These are so neat!  I’m sure they’re better than then the old tennis ball trick too.  I’m going to let the description from their website tell you all about them since they do a great job of it. “This set of 3 dryer balls are made of 100% premium New Zealand Wool. Adding wool dryer balls to your dryer will help soften your clothes (without the use of synthetic chemicals found in dryer sheets), decrease drying time significantly (saving money on utility bills), reduce static and save the landfill from disposable dryer sheets. Toss 2-3 balls in at the beginning of the cycle. They last for over 1,000 loads and will save you both time and money. They’re made in Nepal and packaged by work-at-home moms in Utah.”  I have never used anything like these before and I’m excited to give them a go.  The thought of not having to buy more dryer sheets for a few years makes me happier than it probably should.  They are only slightly squeezable and if I threw one at my husband he would know he’d been hit!

This was my first box from them and I’m quite happy. I’m getting to try some things I’m sure I would never just buy and they are easy ways to make simple changes to try and keep my home and family in better health.  I’m glad that they opened up to Canada and can’t wait to see what other crazy things they send me next.

MayaMade Herbal C.S.A Herb and Soap Of The Month December & January 2017

MayaMade is another of my Etsy finds.  They use Community Supported Agriculture model to produce and share their products.  Each month you will receive 2 bars of soap and one bonus bar in winter. All soaps are 7oz.  They are handcrafted with organic oils and botanicals.  You can also request them to send out specific soaps from their collection if you don’t want to have that surprise.  This one is $13.32 including shipping a month. Well, let’s see what soaps we ended up with this time.

They once again missed sending a box to me so, but a quick email to the seller on Etsy and they shipped me out last months and this month at the same time.  I have no idea which soaps belong to each month so I’ll just lay them out here in the order I pulled them out of the bag.

20170219_203437

20170219_203508Godspeed-$8.76

This soap is not on their website so I can’t tell you much about it.  It has geranium oil in it according to the label.  The red colouring comes from Moroccan red clay.  It smells lovely and I think maybe I’ve received one similar before.

20170219_203531In Twilight Speak Your Grace-$8.76

This contains Elemi oil and Zeolite clay.  I don’t really know what this smells like.  It is not very strong but I’m not sure if I like it or not.  I know it will lather up great and do the job it’s supposed to so even if I decide I really don’t care for it I can toss it in my husband’s shower and have him use it up.

This one has the biggest soaps of all the ones I get.  The value is $17.52.  They have a few different plans if you want to get some of their other products as well.  I have no idea how we’re going to use all this soap up each month!

Glorious Life Soap Of The Month February 2017

Glorious Life is a Canadian company that makes handcrafted soap, skin, and body care products.  I found them on Etsy but they also have a website.  They make all their items in small batches and they are free from synthetic dyes and fragrances, preservatives, parabens, and phthalates.  They are all gluten free and most of them are vegan as well.  They offer 4, 6, and 12-month subscriptions, starting at $25.00, including shipping to Canada.  I was looking for something different and was happy to stumble across this one.

20170208_174639This sub ships in a regular legal-sized envelope.  Inside that is this folded cardstock that contains the bar of soap.

20170208_174658There was a business card tucked in as well as a piece of paper letting me know about their newest Etsy shop.

The soap for this month is Orange Chai.  This is from their Organic line and has a retail value of $3.25.  I like the way this one smells. The orange is very subtle and the chai in it as well.

I’m really glad to support a Canadian company and enjoy handcrafted bath products.  This is an inexpensive way to get a great selection of soaps and after browsing their site there is definitely a few soaps I’m hoping will show up in my mailbox.  If you sign up for their newsletter you can get 15% off your purchase and they have also sent me a code to get 3% off any further purchases from the site.

Love With Food Deluxe December 2016

Hey look I’m getting closer to being in the right month of this!  The box is full once again and off the top, the snacks look good!

There are two cards in the box this month.  The top one is letting us know that the box was curated by Tiffani Thiessen.  She has a cooking show so maybe that’s why she’s doing this too.  The second one is a Holiday card from the company.  This obviously would have much more sense if I’d opened the box in December, as it should have been.

20170205_192634Luna Whole Nutrition Bar x 2

These are sample sized bars of Canadian Made goodness.  These are a dark chocolate hazelnut flavour and are gluten free and non-GMO.  I’ve had other Luna Bars before but not this flavour and type.  I’m sure that I will like these ones too.

20170205_192643Salmas Corn Crackers x 2

These seem to just be a regular cracker if crackers were made of corn.  There are three in each pack.  They are 80 calories per pack and have 0 fat and sugar.

20170205_192655Horizon Organic Fruit Snacks

Like I mentioned the last post, I love all things gummy so I’m going to eat these and not even worry about it.  As the package says, they are certified organic and give you 100% of your vitamin C for the day.

20170205_192708Nib Mor Bar

This seems to be a piece of dark chocolate cacao nibs.  I don’t care much for dark chocolate so I think this will go to my hubby.  It is gluten and GMO-free.

20170205_192726GoGo Squeeze Yogurtz

Shelf stable dairy freaks me out.  Milk is made to go bad!  I think (make that know) that this will go to the kids.  I do not like these squeeze tube things in any type and am pretty sure our family is keeping some of the yogurt companies in business with the amounts the girls eat in a week.  To make it even worse for me…..it’s banana flavour. Egh….

20170205_192738Off The Cob Chips x 2

These are a type of tortilla chip made with sweet corn.  They are non-GMO, Gluten free, have no msg, are kosher, and low sodium.

20170205_192835Veggie Pasta Chips

This might be a very odd thing.  These are pieces of pasta that are baked into a chip.  I hate kale but I’m thinking the spinach and broccoli will cover that up.  These are a vegan snack and also non-GMO.

20170205_192849BarkThins Snacking Chocolate

These look amazing!  This is dark chocolate and almonds with sea salt make into something like a bark.  Chocolate and almond is one of my very favourite things and I’m not sure these are going to last the evening.

20170205_192911Lucy’s Ginger Snaps

I have no idea how they even made these.  They have no peanuts, tree nuts, milk, or eggs.  How do you make cookies without milk and eggs???  It’s a good thing I like ginger snaps.  My Baba always had a jar of them in her cupboard and they are a happy memory for me.

20170205_192931Horizon Organic Cheddar Cheesy Deluxe

This is not something I ever expected to receive in this box.  Mac and cheese is not a snack.   That being said the girls love mac and cheese and usually have it for lunch once a week.  The cheese sauce in this is not a powder but an actual sauce so that is different.

20170205_192951Baron Peppermint Bark

Peppermint bark is one of those things that only appears around Christmas and I try to not gobble as much as I can in one month.  This one is made from premium milk chocolate and has raspberry in it as well.  I will hide it and sneak a piece when I need a moment to myself.

My fifth box gave me even more of the things I love to eat.  I am so happy to be getting this box and finding snacks that are at least in the realm of better for me.  They have great shipping notices and the boxes come wrapped in plastic so no one can peek in and nab your snacks.

Love With Food Deluxe November 2017

Once again this box arrived in good time but I put it off and put if off so I’m doing a review of a November box in February.  The box did arrive slightly crushed but nothing inside seemed to be damaged in any way.

The theme this month is Love Is Food.  It makes sense since this would have corresponded with American Thanksgiving.

20170203_213910Nutryttiva Banana Bar x 2

These bars have the equivalent of three bananas in each one.  They appear to be mixed with chocolate. They are non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, and have no preservatives.  Each bar is 83 calories.  I don’t much like bananas but these bars feel like they are soft and I’m sure they are good.

20170203_213922Marlo’s Bakeshop Chocolate Chip Brownie Biscotti

This is going straight to my husband.  I hate the thought of anything I need to dunk into something else to make it edible.  The whole dunking thing makes me crazy.  It is such a gross activity.  Why would you ever want possible chunks of solids in your liquids?  Horrifying.

20170203_213929Tasty Brand Organic Fruit Snacks

These are a soft gummy candy chew.  They are gelatin free, so no bone marrow to be found.  They are also fat, gluten, and nut free.  I think gummy candy is one of my main weaknesses when it comes to food so I’m happy to see a somewhat healthy version.

20170203_213940SunRype Fruit To Go

I love these!!!  I almost never buy them because they seem too expensive for me to justify for a snack but I’m so glad to get one in the box.  This one is apple raspberry flavoured.  These have zero fat and only 50 calories.

20170203_213948Shine Organics Revive Pouch

I can honestly say I have never had one of these pouch-type foods in my life.  I buy the yogurt ones for the girls but not the fruit and not ever for me.  This blend is made of pear, celery, coconut, lime, green tea, and chia.  It will supposedly help my mind and body stay on the right track.  I’m uncertain about this one.

20170203_214002Zouq Jubilee Mix

This is a bag of trail mix.  It says it is a spicy blend of rice flakes, peas, and lentils.  It has about twenty other ingredients as well and four of those are spicy things.  I think I’ll like as long as it’s not super spicy.

20170203_214013PB Thins Peanut Butter Crackers x 2

I don’t have much to say about these.  I think they will be tasty and I like peanut butter.  They feel like they are about an inch square and crunchy.

20170203_214027Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps x 2

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love these so much!!!!! I eat them all the time and they are delicious!  This might be the best thing in the box.  They have all the salty goodness of a regular pretzel but they are flat.  All of the love for these.

20170203_214038Wise Cinnabon Popcorn x 2

This is cinnamon roll flavoured popcorn.  That might be okay.  I eat a lot of popcorn so there is very little that I shouldn’t like about this.

20170203_214052Mrs.Thinster’s Cookie Thins

I think I would like these if they were any other flavour than Pumpkin Spice.  I have had thin cookies before from another brand and enjoyed them.

20170203_214117Go Organic Chocolate and Ginger Toffee x 3

Tossed in the bottom of the box were these three little candies.

My fourth box gave me even more of the things I love to eat.  I am so happy to be getting this box and finding snacks that are at least in the realm of being better for me.  They have great shipping notices and the boxes come wrapped in plastic so no one can peek in and nab your snacks.
