Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products. They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item. They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included. Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans. Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month. This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.
The box this month was way smaller than last month. If that makes them easier to ship or cheaper then that’s fine. It is branded to let you know what you’re getting.
Box size doesn’t matter when you see that it all fits. I know that these squiggles are a better choice then styrofoam but I hate them so much.
They had to bend the card a little to make it fit on this box but it still tells you about the box plus inside they give you a great amount of information. Not only do they have the items, but also prices, colours, blurbs, websites, and social media links. It is one of the most inclusive and complete info cards I’ve ever received in a box.
Mineral Hygenics Mineral Bronzer in Cool Kiss-$20.00
They sent out two versions of this depending on your skin tone, which I think is great. I am almost as pale as one can be so I got the Fair to Light skin one. I don’t normally go for a bronzer because I have issues applying it but I use them as blush. This shade is fantastic though! It has a subtle shimmer and is just a few shades darker than my skin tone. This is also vegan.
Modern Minerals Eyeshadow in Surya-$12.50
I think mineral makeup is great so getting more is never a problem. This shadow is listed as a new shade for them and I like it. It’s a bit of a coppery bronze and has lovely shimmer. The company does say they make “non-toxic emotion” products so that you feel good about yourself for choosing and wearing them…….whatever that means.
Saturated Colour Colour Switch-$13.00
So this white lipstick is applied on your lips as a base and then you put any shade you have on top and it changes it. You can use varying amounts of it to get different shades out of any tube of lipstick. This seems very cool and I like the idea!
Terre Mere Matte Lipstick in Someone Special-$39.00
This lipstick goes on very smoothly. It is vegan and while it is matte is doesn’t have that dry feel that some matte lipsticks do. It’s not my favourite colour, it’s a little to 1990’s brown but maybe I’ll try it with the colour switch above and get something better. There is also no way I would ever pay that for a lipstick.
Terre Mere Bronzer Brush-$34.00
OMG…..this brush is soooooo soft. I want to just rub it. It is 100% synthetic hair and promises that it will leave you streak-free. I really don’t want to sully the pristine white bristles with any makeup.
My second box was just as great as the first. The five items included have a value of $118.50! I cannot figure out how they are sending out such high volume boxes but I love it. I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy. I think this is going to be a great box for me.
