Curiosity Box June 2016

Curiosity Box is a Canadian monthly subscription that sends out craft and activity boxes for children 3-7.  They hope to inspire curiosity and creativity in kids and help families have quality time together.  You can buy single boxes or 3,6,and 12 month plans.  You can also get Curiosity Kits that are made for birthday parties, homeschooling or daycare groups.  Single boxes start at $26.55 and plans begin at $26.50/month and go down with longer subscriptions.  Shipping within Canada in included!  In the monthly plans they include an item from their current partner and in the months published, a copy of Parent’s Canada magazine.  I have been looking to replace the craft one I was getting for Bug so finding one and a Canadian one to boot is awesome!

They switched to a smaller box to help with shipping costs and I think that’s great.  The box is full and well packed and that’s all that matters to me.

They have a tri-fold insert that tells you what crafts you’re doing and how to do them.  It also lets you know who the Brand Partner is for the month and fun facts and other crafts to keep you busy. The theme this month is Make Some Music.

The partner this month is thePixelShirt.  They sent a code for a discount off an order.  There is also an advertisement for Thrive K supplements as well.

First up is a Mini Rhythm Board.  You get to decorate up the box and then once it’s dry you play it with the included drumstick.  This will be a great one as both kids love instruments of any kind.

Next we have a Maraca.  You use the glitter glue let over from craft 1 and also 1 of the stickers from that and decorate up the included maraca.  Once it is dry you shake the sh!t out of it and annoy everyone in a ten foot radius.

Last craft for this month is Guitar Scratch Ornaments.  Bug has received a few of these in other boxes and thinks they are great fun so this one is super easy and quick for us.

The activity for the month is Music I Spy.  They give you a game board and a dry erase marker and you circle or cross off everything you see that matches.

For some bonus activities they sent a harmonica and a slide flute along with a guitar shaped tube o bubbles.   All of this will be the biggest hit of the year.  If they were thinking they’d ave sent earplugs for the adults.

I think this is going to be a good box for Bug.  She loves these kind of crafts, and I like that most are simple and quick enough to do before bed or supper.  The crafts seem to be coming from Oriental Trading and I’m fine with that because I would totally be ordering from there myself if I could figure out hat to do with the 17 other packages of the same crafts you need to buy at once.  The instructions are clear and the additional activities don’t require crazy supplies no one would have.  I am grateful to find any Canadian boxes and am glad to support them.  If you want to join this one, send me a message and I can give you a code for a discount off a 3 month plan.
