Benevolent Beauty Box May 2016

Benevolent Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box that sends out between 4 and 7 cruelty-free beauty products.  They promise that everything will be full sized unless it is a bonus item.  They also say that it will be mostly makeup with a possibility of skin, hair, or brushes included.  Boxes start at $15.95 a month for a mini box and $29.95 for the deluxe box, with slight discounts for longer plans.  Shipping to Canada is $8.00 a month.  This was another box I snagged on Mother’s Day for a great deal and I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

Everything shipped in a smaller, well labeled box.  It wasn’t very heavy but makeup rarely is.

Opening up the lid didn’t show me much because of the info card on top but once I got that out of the way I could see a few things nestled into the hated squiggles.

The info card tells you how you can get hold of them if you need to plus lists all the items, retail prices, websites and social media, and a little blurb about each one.  This is a highly detailed bunch of information.

Bellapierre Cosmetics HD Makeup Primer-$75.00

Wow…first out of the box and huge value!!  I didn’t believe it until I went to the website and it’s right.  I love primers and this one has more of a gel like texture to it.  It doesn’t leave your skin looking too matte either and really made a difference in how my pores looked. Yay!!

Cailyn Cosmetics Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint in Hospitable-$19.00

This colour is almost perfectly natural on me.  It took a couple of seconds to dry but I’ll have to see if it lives up to the promise of being all day stayable.  It does feel slightly sticky, which I’m not too thrilled with but I like the colour enough that I’ll use it regardless.

Gourmet Body Treats Agrimony Eye Cream-$18.00

This is a vegan eye cream that can be used to help dark circles, fine lines, and inflammation.  It is pretty solid in the jar but once you warm it on you finger it melts and becomes spreadable.  Lately Bear has been sleep horribly so I’m happy to give anything a try that might make that less noticeable.  The only thing I don’t like about it is that it has an odd smell but that is minor and barely even can be smelled once you get your nose out of the jar.

Trust Fund Beauty Lipgasm Lipstick in Something Witty-$10.00

There were multiple colour options of this sent out and while I don’t know what the other colours look like I think I’d have prefered something beyond this bright pink.  I can wear this colour but just.  It is very 1980’s.  However it smells fantastic.  I don’t know that I’ve ever used a lipstick that smelled so edible before.  This is also a vegan product.

Vapour Organic Beauty Mesmerize Eyeliner in Truffle-$20.00

This one also had a variance in colours sent out.  I’m thinking the other one is black based on it being called Ink.  I’m quite happy to have got this brown shade though.  I have very few brown liners and I’m not sure why since I think it’s great.  This liner has the smudger on the other end and contains coconut and chamomile to sooth and nourish your eyes as you wear it.

So for my first box from them I am stoked!  The five items included have a value of $142.00!!!! Holy crackerjacks Batman!  I don’t know if that is normal for them or not but this one box actually covered the whole cost of my subscription.  I don’t really have a preference to vegan or organic but I like makeup in general and everything in this box made me happy.  I think this is going to be a great box for me.  Right now if you want to sign up you can use the code WELCOME to save 10% off your order.
