Luxe Box Summer 2016

Luxe Box is a quarterly box that sends out 7-8 trial sized beauty and lifestyle discoveries every season.  It is a Canadian box which is nice and shipping is included in the pricing.  Each box is $26 or you can sign up for a year for $96, so a slight discount. They also had a few upgrade options if you wanted but I stuck with the standard box. I had wanted to cancel this box but I couldn’t get through to actually speak to someone so I ended up getting another years worth.  The products are usually okay but getting this and Topbox, which are put out by the same company does result in some duplicates.

I choose to never get the box option so my seasonal offering comes in a bright purple mailer bag.  Inside that is the silky drawstring bag filled with the items for this time around. For some reason they did not include an info card this time but o couple of days after it showed up I got an email letting me know about my products.

Novex Brazilian Keratin Deep Conditioning Hair Mask-100g $2.17

I think this might be the fourth time I’ve received this product.  The only good part about that is that I like using it and it does seem to make my hair better.  I use this in place of conditioner in the shower and do my soaping up while it’s working.  This size of a jar gives me 4 or 5 uses so it’s a great sized sample.

pur~lisse BB Tinted Moist Cream SPF 30-10mL $12.55

This is also a duplicate item for me but again I think it’s a great product and having more is okay.  I do need to blend it in well because it seems maybe a shade or two too dark for me but with the blanding it works.  I have received a few items from this brand and I really like them.

Barefoot Venus Lip Bliss-$7.50 Full Size

I’m so excited to get this one!  I want to buy all the Barefoot Venus items I see because I think they are fun and I love the packaging.  This is spearmint scented and made with shea butter to leave your lips soft and repaired.  The only thing I don’t care much for is that you have to push it up from the bottom and then push it back down from the top.  It’s a pain and then it’s on your fingers too.

Mirabella Longwear Eyeshadow in Refreshmint-$29.00 Full Size

This eyeshadow is kinda odd.  It looks like a powder but it’s moist if that makes sense.  It has a great shimmer and leaves a nice wash of colour.  I don’t know that it would ever be my first choice of shades but I think I can pull it off with a light touch.

Harvey Prince Organics Sincerely Body Cream-15mL $1.02

Everything Harvey Prince makes is heavily floral and this is no different.  I happen to enjoy and like that so I’m thrilled with this lotion but I can see how it may turn people off.  It has extracts of French bergamot and South African freesia to keep your skin soft and nourished.

Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer in I’m The Good Witch-$15.83 Full Size

As much as I’m tired of Topbox/Luxe Box sending me nail polish this one is awesome.  I love glitter polish and it’s the type I gravitate to in stores.  I have received a few bottles of this brand and they go on smooth, last well without chipping, and have good colour.

O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel Face with Brightening Agents-5mL $4.32

This is different. You spray on the mask, leave it for a few minutes, then gently rub it with your fingers.  After rinsing you moisturize as normal and go about your day.  It uses enzymes to reveal brighter and softer skin.

This seasons Luxe Box has a value of $72.39. There were three full sized items, which is nice. I’m happy with this seasons offering and even with the few duplicates it was a good box.   I find that I get lots of emails from Luxe Box with specials from the products included or companies they have partnered with.  I like them and I am getting to try new things that are available here in Canada, which I also like.  The duplicate issue is another thing but if I cancel one or the other it would be mostly solved.
