Warm Hugs is a subscription box that reminds you that you need to take care of yourself as well as others. They are also Canadian so yay to that! Boxes will include affirmations, tea, gemstones, essential oil blends, chocolates, bath salts or soaps, a mascot, and a surprise. They make the oils and bath products themselves and sell them on their site. They also sell the boxes alone and have a Postpartum box that has items new moms can use to sooth sore areas. You can even order a subscription and get that as your first box if you let them know. Boxes are $20 plus $7 shipping (Canadian funds!!!!!) but if you go with a six month plan you get 10% off.
Inside the box there was a pretty sheet of tissue. It just makes it a little nicer.
Underneath that is all my presents! The box is comfortably heavy because of the salts.
They send you a letter telling you what you received and ways to use the items.
First up are the affirmations. You put these somewhere you can read them daily to remind yourself that you and life are awesome.
They send you a handmade blend of tea. This month they sent out Allergy Season Tea, which has mint, echinacea, lavender, clover, calendula, lemon balm, green tea, and stevia. This smells lovely and while I don’t have any allergy issues I think it’ll be a good tea to drink anyways.
Now we come to the bath salts. They are also handmade and this month is strawberry. They are quite pink and smell sweet. They say they are a fun and relaxing Spring favourite.
The handmade soap is spearmint. It is not too strong but does not hide what it is. It has antiseptic, antispasmodic, and disinfecting qualities as well as relaxing muscles and stimulating the brain. This is the most useful soap I’ve ever owned!
Again this month is a few Lindt chocolates to help you get through those times when only chocolate will do.
This month’s gemstone is a coffee moonstone. It’s very pretty and according to the handy info scroll it is a healing and protective stone. It wards off nightmares and eradicates insomnia. If it can help with that I will gladly rub this thing before bed as mine has come back with a vengeance. It helps to balance the hormonal system and eliminates toxins while easing menstrual issues. It can also be called the Traveller’s Stone and protects those who travel at night or over water at night. That’s a bit odd….
The oil blend this month is Blemish Buster. You spray this onto a cotton ball and apply that to the area that you wish hadn’t magically appeared on your face overnight. It smells quite strong and not that pleasant so maybe best to use at night.
So they used to give you a mascot each month just to cheer you up. Starting this month they have changed that to a pair of earrings. I’m not sure what happens if you were a man getting this box because they don’t ask your gender when you sign up. I’m normally not much for this type of earring but I like these ones and will wear them.
Last up this month is the surprise item. This time it’s a pretty 80 page lined journal. You could also use it as a notebook. I love stationery of all kinds and as a result this makes me very happy.
There is no way for me to value this box but it would be about curation more than value anyways. I fell I got my $20 worth and I love that it is Canadian. All of the bath products are wonderful, the oil is useful, chocolate can never be bad, tea is welcome, and the gemstone and affirmations are great reminders to stop and think for a minute.
