FabFitFun Summer 2015

FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box that brings together fashion finds, beauty secrets, and fitness gear put together by the FabFitFun team.  It is $49.99 a quarter but there are always deals to be had so the price of the box can be lower or you can get extra free products depending on when you sign up. They guarantee a value of at least $100 in every box, but I’ve yet to see anything that low.  This is only the fifth box that has been available for Canadian shipping from them I believe.  There are always a few spoilers out on this box each time so if you want a complete surprise this might not be the best option unless you have supreme willpower to avoid peeking at them.  I got my box really late do to the fact that they had some shipping issues with one product to Canada and had to find an alternate shipping method.

The box was full as always.  I knew a few of the things I was getting since they ask a few preferences for some of their items.

The info card is a trifold with paragraphs for each item along with the prices.

Wren 14K Gold and Black Sapphire Necklace-$100.00

So this was the big ticket item this month.  It’s a very small and dainty necklace and I really like it.  It is soooo much better then the bullet necklace from a few boxes ago.  My only issue so far with this is that mine has a knot in it and I am having trouble getting it out.  You got to choose the colour you wanted and I think the rose gold is beautiful.

The Everyday Wireless Speaker by FabFitFun-$29.99

This was the other item you got a choice of colour of.  I went teal but you could get pink as well.  I am happy to get one of these because I listen to streaming music at work and am using a homemade speaker made from a styrofoam cup.  This will be much more professional looking.

Inkling Scents Sultry Roll-On Perfume-$25.00

I am not normally a huge fan of musky perfumes but this one just smells sexy and I love it.  I think sending a roll-on is nice too because it’s easier to control then a spray.  Hubby says it’s okay smelling as long as it’s a small dose.  I guess I’ll be sexy all by my lonesome then.

Gorge “I’ll Make You Look Amazing” Daily Spray-$24.95

This is a leave-in conditioner that helps dry, coarse and frizzy hair.  I like anything that can help with frizzy hair so this will get used.  It smells nice too.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss in Flush-$19.00

One of their early spoilers was that we were getting a Tarte product this time.  I thought this was going to be a very bright colour that I couldn’t wear everyday but it turns out it’s an almost see through high gloss pink.  I can have this be a daily wearer and not look like I’m trying to hard.

FabFitFun x CosmoBody Jump Rope-$14.00

I haven’t jumped rope in years but now that I have a skipping rope I will be showing Bug how cool I can be with whatever tricks I can remember.  The handles are foam and soft and the rope itself soft plastic.  I’m more excited about this than I thought I was going to be.

Scratch Nail Wraps-$12.00

I have now received a few different styles of these and have yet to use any.  I should really just give myself an evening to play with them and put them on.  I don’t really like this design but they’ll be good for a practice run.

Headspace 3-Month Subscription-$38.85

Headspace is an app that shows you guided meditations to slow you down and change your life.  I’m thinking this would be a great thing to do right before bed to wind down and really think about all the things that happened in a day and reflect on the good parts.  Unlike some of the other free trials they’ve sent I think this one will get used.

Hello Konjac Cleansing Sponge-$12.00

I had no idea what this was.  Turns out it’s a sponge that is used to gently exfoliate your skin.  I don’t know what a konjac is but it’s fibres are what make up this thing.  It is completely hard till you soak it in water and then you can use a tiny amount of cleanser, scrub it around and rinse.  You just put it to dry then and use it again next time.

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Spray Moisturizer-$7.99

I have some of the other versions of this spray but not this one so I am happy and lucky.  This is a sponsored item in the box, which doesn’t bother me.  If them putting a few items that are mass market in the box helps to get more big ticket or special items then why should it matter?  Beyond that I like the way this goes on but have an issue with the fact that it (like all of the spray lotions) oversprays and I almost wipe out on my laminate floor that is now greased.

Also in the box was an advertisement for Giuliana’s new book.  Oddly there is no discount offered or anything.  It’s just a card saying buy my book.

This season’s box has a value of $275.79.  I am happy with everything and it makes me a little sad that I cancelled this subscription.  I had been left feeling a touch let down with the previous few and now this one went and made it all better.  Oh well….I’m sure I can find something else to replace this one.  Right now they have lots of specials out on this box so if you want one make sure to look around.
