Luxe Box by Loose Button Summer 2015

Luxe Box is a quarterly box that sends out 7-8 trial sized beauty and lifestyle discoveries every season.  It is a Canadian box which is nice and shipping is included in the pricing.  Each box is $26 or you can sign up for a year for $96, so a slight discount. They also had a few upgrade options if you wanted but I stuck with the standard box.

This box comes really wrapped up.  First it’s in an outer plain box, then you get the fancy inner box, and inside that is a silky bag full of your goodies.

This is the first time they’ve had an info card included.  You used to have to go to your dashboard page on their website for the low down on what was included.

Fruits & Passion Face Mask-$2.50

I use masks at least once a week so I’m happy to get another one.  I’ve never used one from Fruits & Passion before and this one has aloe to refresh your skin.  It’s one of the ones you just lay over your face and leave on for 15 minutes.  Simple if you can stay still, not so fabulous when chasing kids.

Medusa’s Makeup Eyeshadow in Xtinct-$8.00

This looks like a crazy bright purple but it actually goes on almost pink and shimmery.  I ended up liking it way more then my first impression led me to believe I would.  I’ve never heard of this brand but that doesn’t bother me at all.

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Eye Serum-$31.00 3mL

I always am shocked by some of the retail pricing of full sized versions of some facial products.  I guess I’m just not at a place in my life where I can or would spend $155 on an eye cream.  Now that I have that out of the way, let’s talk about this serum.  It claims to tighten, firm and smooth your eye area, by reducing the appearance of crepy lids, crow’s feet, puffiness and dark circles. It is to be used twice daily and you don’t really need that much.  Oddly it smells like stale beer.  Also there must be some actual alcohol in there somewhere since the finger I used to apply it had a paper cut on it and it stung like crazy!

Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara-$2.70 1.5mL

This mascara has a twisted wand to help you volumize, lengthen, thicken, separate, and lift.  It is also clump, flake and smudge free.  It sounds great and I never say no to more mascara since I don’t leave the house without at least this on.

Essie Nail Laquer in Power Clutch-$9.99

I don’t know how I feel about this colour.  I have never had a grey polish before and even once I did a test nail I wanted to put some glitter top coat on to brighten it up.  It looks very mature and I tend to do my nails in something that will make me not so conformed to normal.  I’ll have to think about this one.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Tinted Ultra-Fluid Lotion SPF 50-$2.01 3mL

I originally thought this was just sunscreen, I guess with that title I was wrong.  It is in fact a tinted antioxidant sunscreen.  It barely shows up on my skin with a colour, which is surprising since I’m really pale but is supposed to give you a healthy glow while protecting you.  SPF 50 is great and this is a mineral sunscreen which is a nice change from purely chemical ones.

Batiste Original Dry Shampoo-$4.99 50mL

I’ve only started using dry shampoos since I began getting these boxes and I love them.  They are so useful for those days I can’t wash my hair but need a quick freshening.

This seasons Luxe Box has a value of $61.19.  That is almost identical to the Spring box and 2.5 times what I paid for the box.  I like everything this month, I’m just uncertain on the nail polish colour.  I find that I get lots of emails from Luxe Box with specials from the products included or companies they have partnered with.  I have just one more Luxe Box in my subscription and I probably won’t renew after that  just so I can try other ones, but I do like them and I am getting to try new things that are available here in Canada, which I like.
