La Papierre Stationery Subscription Service April 2015

La Papierre is a stationary subscription service.  The have three different plans depending on how much paper you want/need each month.  Plan A gives you 6 notepads with 4 sheets each for $10.00.  Plan B gives you 6 designs with 8 sheets each for $20.00. Plan C gives you 6 designs with 24 sheets each for $40.00.  All plans have free shipping in Canada. This subscription is based out of Quebec and they have an Etsy shop as well where you can purchase stationery sets in addition to notepads. I know the founders are moving to the States but so far there has been no word if this will be effecting this subscription.

Included in the envelope is a postcard, their business card and a thank you for subscribing.

I have Plan A so this is half my package.  These three are actually my least liked of the months offering.  There is nothing really wrong with them but they are not my style.  I will be using them up first just so they go away.

20150503_174825 20150503_174838 20150503_174904

Now the rest of my package is a win!  The salsa one is just the best.  These are the ones that I want to hoard and just pull out and look at before storing them safely away.

I am still happy with my second month from La Papierre.  As I mentioned I just went with Plan A so there is only 4 of each style. Since only half of the pack is awesome for me I’m glad of that.  If I only spend $10.00 here that leaves me room to convince myself I could buy paper elsewhere too.  If you want some paper for yourself click here to get to their website.

Dive Bar Shirt Club April 2015

Dive Bar Shirt Club is a monthly subscription that sends out a limited edition t-shirt from a random bar every month.  Each shirt is only available for that month and then that’s it.  Their tag line is “T-shirts from the best bars you’ve never heard of”. Shirts are $22 a month unless you need XXL or XXXL sizes then add $2.50 and $3.50 respectively. Shipping outside of the USA is $5.  They are just a reoccurring subscription so you can cancel anytime before the next payment is due.  This has been a great find as Hubby looks forward to this one every month.

20150501_131433 20150501_131441

This months shirt is from Neumann’s Bar in North St.Paul, MN.  The bar is the oldest continuing bar in the state and during prohibition was a bait shop with a speakeasy upstairs.  They still have a tub of bullfrogs in the front window as a reminder of their past.

20150501_131347 20150501_131412

There is a small logo on the front and then the back has a vintage photo of the place.  This shirt is another of the vintage fit shirts that most of them have been and it is the prefered style of my Hubby.

This month marks another good one for the shirt and I with only five left before this one is done we are amasing a good collection of quality shirts.

Phone Case Of The Month April 2015

Phone case of the month sends you out a new case for your phone once a month.  You can get a new case for your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy right now but they are looking to expand that if there is a large amount of need for other brands. They have also just started providing cases for the iPhone6 too.  The case is $10 per month and shipping to Canada is another $5. While they are no where near as protective a case as an Otterbox they are a fun way to switch things up.  I was stunned at how much lighter my phone was with this case as opposed to the Otterbox I had on there. Never realized it was so big till it was gone. You get a case, a little info card, and a treat! This one always shows up really close to the end of the month for me.

Back to the regular bag this month.  I am glad because I didn’t care for that cotton one from the last time.

This months case is themed Graffiti Life and it’s not really a winner for me.  It is noticeable and for now till it gets dirty it’s really bright but I really dislike abstract art and that’s what this reminds me of.  At least there’s candy.

This is still one of those subscriptions that I’m on the fence about keeping.  I like getting a new case each month but the exchange rate still hasn’t come back up so this one is costing me a bit more then I’d like. I feel I should cancel but can’t quite get push the button to make it happen. It’s still cheaper or comparable to buying them from a mall kiosk though.  If you want to get your own cases you can check them out by clicking here.

Bark Box April 2015

Archie’s favorite delivery came the other day and he was all over the box when I brought it into the house.  BarkBox is a toy and treat box just for pups. Prices start at $29 per month but go down to $18 if you choose a yearly plan. Shipping to Canada is $5/month.  Along with the products part of your subscription cost is donated to dogs in need, so along with fun stuff for your pooch you are also helping out dogs that might not be as pampered as yours. You can select from tiny, small & cute, just right, and big & bold sizes to get a selection of products best suited to your dog. The theme this month is Fitness.

The info card has one of the awesome cartoons on the front and the back has the products and reorder numbers.

Yeti Corporation Large Yak Chew-$11.00

This is a hard cheese chew.  It’s made from yak and cows milk.  It sounds completely bizarre and I’m sure Archie will love it.  It promises to be non staining and with minimal odor, which would be a good thing.

Hueter Toledo Gripper Softflex Bestball-$9.00

This is a squeaker toy that looks like a kettle ball.  It’s cute and I know there will be some good tug of wars with it till we chew through it.

Sojo’s Simply Lamb Treats-$10.00

These are freeze dried meat cubes.  The only ingredient is lamb and since we are watching my mom’s dog right now as well all three of the pups like these.

Kyjen Tuff Guys Mat-$10.00

This guy has squeakers, crinkles, and stuffing for the ultimate playing trio.  I give him till the end of today before parts of him are missing.  He’s pretty awesome though.  Full hairy back as well.

This is the first time I’ve only received four items in the box.  There is still a $40 value to all of these toys and treats.  I like that they send treats that are completely natural.  The toys are good this month too.  We’re about halk way done with this subscription and while I am uncertain about renewing it I think it is a good box.

Lip Monthly April 2015

Lip Monthly is a monthly subscription box that sends out a selection of lip products.  You also get your selections in a reusable makeup bag.  Lip Monthly is $10.00 a month, with reduced rates for 4 month or annual plans.  You also can accumulate points that can be redeemed in their shop.  Shipping to Canada is an additional $5 a month but this is still a really affordable subscription. They changed things up this month and shipped it in a gold bubble mailer instead of the usual white.

This is another repeat bag but I think this is the one I’ve received the least.  I really don’t care that they send the same bags out but it seems to bug other people.

20150428_203616 20150428_203628

The info card is helpful and lets you know what you got, how much it costs, and a little info on how it works for this month.  They say these colours will be great for the warmer spring weather.

Cargo Essential Lip Gloss in Sahara-$16.00

Okay first off I love this. Secondly, this apparently is travel sized but the amount of product inside is equal to a regular lip gloss.  This golden shimmer is awesome and I will wear it alone but you could totally wear it over another colour for some shimmer.

City Color Be Matte Lipstick in Cammi-$4.99 Full Size

When I think of spring colours never have I thought of a dark mauve.  This is another one of those colours that is okay but just too dark for me to wear as an everyday lip.  It is matte and I’m sure long lasting as well.

LA Girl Creme Lipstick in Last Night-$4.00 Full Size

This is another dark colour I may not wear to often.  I hoped it would go on pretty sheer but it is a super pigmented colour.  It goes on really easily and is very pink.

Ofra Eyebrow Pencil in Universal-$13.00

This is the makeup mix up item for the month.  They have shipped a few Ofra products before and I’ve had no issues with them.  I have lately been using brow powder but used to use a pencil all the time.  This seems a touch dark for me but we’ll trust the universal declaration for now.

This months bag was just okay for me.  The two lipsticks are both just meh but that lip gloss makes my day. This month has a value of $37.99 which is pretty good.   If you would like to sign up I’d love it if you’d use my link.

Embellished Boxes April 2015

Embellished Boxes is a monthly box that sends you what you need to create two crafts. They focus on using items that you have around your home or that are inexpensive to purchase.  You get instructions and everything you need to complete the two projects. Subscriptions are $16.05 a month including shipping.  Even better is that Embellished is a Canadian company.  I have not been disappointed in any of the projects they’ve sent me so far, even if I have not had the best luck in creating the projects.  That’s nothing on them though, it’s more my lack of ability in some crafting skills.

The first look once the lid is up just gives me wrapping paper.  Damn them for not giving me clues!

Under the paper I’m still at a loss.  I can see a nest of crinkles and the materials list.

20150428_153405 20150428_153421

The instructions always come on a card with an appropriate quote.  Each craft only has three steps and pictures included incase you work better that way.

The first craft is a Bamboo Make Up Organizer.  You use a sushi mat and elastic to create a brush roll.  Seems simple enough, though you do need a glue gun to accomplish it.

Craft number two is a Hand Painted Tea Towel.  For this one they give you the towel, a paint brush, stencil and two tubes of fabric paint.  You can use the provided pattern or if you’re really talented just go freehand.  When I get this done I think it will be strictly decorative.

I did manage to get a couple of these done since last month but I’m still behind a bit on getting these crafts done in the last few months so I have to find a few minutes and get my craft on. None require a huge time commitment and most so far have been new skills for me, which is nice.

Kawaii Box April 2015

Kawaii Box is a monthly box of items selected from Japanese and Korean kawaii products.  Kawaii means cute so everything is based on that premise.  They ship anywhere in the world with free shipping and the box is $18.90 a month.  This has quickly become one of my favorite boxes that I receive.  It is full of things that no one really needs, but I’m always so thrilled to get.  I cannot see me getting rid of this box anytime in the near future.  I love this box and I haven’t been able to find stationary boxes that come close.  This is my favourite box hands down!!!!!

20150428_133851 20150428_133857

I can’t contain myself when I open this box.  I get so happy with whatever I can see peeking out and it only gets better once I get into it.

First out of the box was an adorable pair of nail clippers in a candy sleeve.  So much better then the plain old regular clippers I have.  Those will now become just the hubby’s and these shall be mine!!

I’m not entirely sure what this is supposed to be but I would say either a luggage tag or it would be big enough to carry a couple of credit cards or id for an evening out without your purse.

This is a button.  I think I’ll put it on Bug’s backpack strap since it doesn’t really appeal to me.  There is always one thing that ends up as hers from this box.

Freakin Cute Pineapple Plush!!!!!!!!!!  I love this guy. He is just got that sassy look that I can relate too.  I’m totally taking him to work so I can enjoy him all the time.

Ooohhh a pen.  This one has a cap that looks like one of those little stacking dolls.  However it has a sad face with a tear.  It is smooth writing black gel ink.

This might be the best hair pin ever.  I have no problem wearing odd or noticeable things on my head. Just ask my boss, who now just looks at me and shakes his head.

Beyond knowing that this would be orange flavoured I was at a loss.  There is no English on here at all.  Unwrapped they are a soft chewy candy with orange around a white center.  They are really tasty and now I need to hide them or Bug will be asking for some.

This roll of stickers goes inside that box so you can use it as a dispenser. The stickers are about 3″ long and say Salut!  I have a use for these in mind already.

Okay now I’m over the moon!  These are sticky notes!!  I guess that is supposed to be a bear and then there is the little tree and bird.  Best thing in this box this month. Love Love Love.

These are envelopes.  There are five in here and while they might be just small for letter sized paper they will fit a notepad size perfectly.  I think I’ll be sealing these up with those Salut stickers from above and mail out some letters!

These seem like tattoos but they are for stuff not humans.  They show that you can put them on electronics, plates, stationery, or anything else you can think of.  They are cute.

Okay these are a really close second to best item.  They are stickers showing cute animals doing stuff.  Sleeping, playing, drinking, just existing.  Really awesome.

As usual I like this box, just incase you couldn’t tell. The stuff is fun and cute and brings me happiness.  If you have any interest in Kawaii then you should get this box!
