Embellished Boxes is a monthly box that sends you what you need to create two crafts. They focus on using items that you have around your home or that are inexpensive to purchase. You get instructions and everything you need to complete the two projects. Subscriptions are $16.05 a month including shipping. Even better is that Embellished is a Canadian company. I have not been disappointed in any of the projects they’ve sent me so far, even if I have not had the best luck in creating the projects. That’s nothing on them though, it’s more my lack of ability in some crafting skills.
The first look once the lid is up just gives me wrapping paper. Damn them for not giving me clues!
Under the paper I’m still at a loss. I can see a nest of crinkles and the materials list.
The instructions always come on a card with an appropriate quote. Each craft only has three steps and pictures included incase you work better that way.
The first craft is a Bamboo Make Up Organizer. You use a sushi mat and elastic to create a brush roll. Seems simple enough, though you do need a glue gun to accomplish it.
Craft number two is a Hand Painted Tea Towel. For this one they give you the towel, a paint brush, stencil and two tubes of fabric paint. You can use the provided pattern or if you’re really talented just go freehand. When I get this done I think it will be strictly decorative.
I did manage to get a couple of these done since last month but I’m still behind a bit on getting these crafts done in the last few months so I have to find a few minutes and get my craft on. None require a huge time commitment and most so far have been new skills for me, which is nice.
