WelliBox April 2015

WelliBox is a Canadian box focusing on healthy options.  It sends you 5-10 samples per month and you can choose your category from womens, mens, 50+, or performance.  Boxes are $10 per month, less with longer plans,  and you are promised $25 worth of products.  Since I’m trying to get healthier and lose some weight I thought it would be a good idea to get a box that might help me out.

This box was not sealed in any way when it got here but I don’t think anything was missing.  It always seems a bit empty but the box is just larger then it needs to be.

This is the first time there has been any type of a card from WelliBox included.  There is no product info on here but at least it tells you a bit about the program and the discount for the store.

Trophic Super Concentrate Chlorophyll-100mL $8.99

I’m glad they have begun including an information sheet about the supplements they are sending because I had no idea humans should have chlorophyll.  They recommend using this as a form of internal deodorant because it has been proven to help treat bad breath and body odor.  It is also useful in treating athletes foot and helping with the absorption of vitamins and minerals.  You take a teaspoon twice a day.  It doesn’t say if you mix it into water or just straight but it does warn that you may have urine discolouration.  Possibly the least scary side effect I’ve heard of.

Trophic Acidophilus-60 Capsules $13.99

I usually just take those little yogurt type drinks for good bacteria but this seems easier.  You take 1-6 capsules daily and they give you the active bacteria you want.  Both  supplements this month also have longer expiry dates then some of the other ones from previous months, which is good too.

Trophic C-Blast-8.9g $0.69

This little pouch is a vitamin c and probiotic blend.  You mix this into a glass of water and drink it up.  It says it will help maintain healthy skin, immune function, proper muscle function, normal growth and development, tissue formation, wound healing, and support healthy glucose metabolism.  I’m going to go with the proven immune one and anything else is just a bonus.

Trachealth Chia Dietary Supplement-17.25g $1.33

This is drinkable chia.  I had no idea this was even out there.  I thought you just got the seeds and soaked them or put them in smoothies as a thickener.  This one is strawberry lemonade flavoured which sounds good.  It only has 80 calories per pouch and is gluten free and vegan.  It does contain whole chia seeds so I’m thinking it will be a textured drink, which I’m not really cool with though. Looks pretty on the website, all pink and stuff.

Jessica’s Kitchen Pumpkin Seed Crunch With Cranberries-156g $4.96

I was able to find this on Well.ca but it is listed as discontinued.  It is not expired so I’m still going to eat them.  This is wheat and gluten free and a source of omega-6.  I really like pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries so I think this will be a great snack.  I might even be able to get Bug to eat it as well.

This was another good box from them.  This month has a value of $29.96, so above the $25 the promise.  I like that I get to try out a bunch of supplements I mostly have never heard of and it gives me a chance to decide what I might need or should be taking.  I am still cautious with reading the labels since I do still breastfeed my little one and some of these things want you to discuss taking them with your doctor in that situation, but that is to be expected with any new supplements.
