Beauty Box 5 March 2015

Beauty Box 5 is a subscription box that sends out 5 products or samples every month. They might be makeup, beauty accessories, hair, skincare, fragrance, body, or nail products. It is another of the cheaper ones at $12 a month or even less if you sign up for a longer term. They do charge $3 a month to ship to Canada though.  If I’m being honest though this box has been very hit or miss for me.  Sometimes the products included are so random or so not what I would think should be in a beauty box that I wonder what they are thinking.  Other times it’s really good.

The first look is unhelpful, silly card takes up the whole top.

The back of the info card with products, retails, and a description of what each does for you.  Also included this month was a $5 off code for the webstore.  The other card lets you know you can win full size products if you send them a pic of your box.  This is always in there but I’m not sure I’ve shown it lately.

Eslor Introductory Collection-4x5mL $18.00

I received this same kit from my Topbox subscription in December, so I am less then thrilled with it.  I thought it was okay but I can’t say that it did wonders for me.  In fact the Chlorophyll Lifting Mask was so strong the fumes were burning my eyes and I couldn’t even leave it on for the recommended time. The Day Cream is nice though.

Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalyptus Body Cream-14mL $1.19

This cream stinks.  The rosemary/eucalyptus smell is not appealing to me at all.  Beyond smell it is a slightly thicker cream that absorbs super quick and is non-greasy.  Guess I’m lucky this is a small sample so I can get through it quickly.

Scandalous Thickening Mascara by Nanacoco-$4.99 Full Size

I never open the mascaras I get till I go to use them so they don’t get air in them and dry out so I can’t say much about this one.  It is supposed to have a flexible silicone ball brush to help magnify your lashes.  I can’t even imagine what that is.  I may have to put this one closer to the front of my stash just to satisfy my curiosity.

Styli-Style Line & Seal Twist Mechanical Eye Liner in Raisin-$4.99 Full Size

I like this colour.  It’s way more copper then purple and has a great shimmer to it.  I had been wondering what had happened since it seemed like I got an eyeliner in everything for a while and none lately.  I’ve never heard of this brand but it glides on smooth and is not too smudgable.

Laugh Out Loud Lip Gloss by Nanacoco in The Lift-$3.99 Full Size

I was prepared to hate this for being way too pink but it really isn’t.  It goes on not sheer but not thick either.  It has good shine and shimmer and is not sticky on my lips.  Not sure why they included two Nanacoco items in one box but I like them both so I won’t complain too much.

This months box was another good one.  I’m only sad about the Eslor pack but that’s just because I’ve already received it once before.  The smell of the lotion was a bummer but in the time it has taken me to write this it has dissipated enough that I don’t notice it.  The value for this months box is $33.16 and there were three full sized items included.  My only real issue with this box is that I get it two to three days before the month ends so I see all the items because other people get theirs earlier.
