Little Life Box is a monthly shipment of items that help you to try out items so you can try out healthier or alternative versions of things you use or eat everyday. You will get up to a dozen items each month and they promise to never ship you the same item twice, though you may get a different flavour of the same item. They are a Canadian company as well so that’s nice too. Subscriptions will run you $19.95 a month or less with longer plans. They offer a purely Vegan option as well. I went with their original box since I don’t have a preference towards vegan items.
The box is really nice and branded. Inside was wrapped up tight and had a cute postcard on top.
I was shocked with how much stuff was in this box. A lot of boxes are bigger than they need to be but this one was packed full.
All-In-One Nutritional Shake by VeganSmart-43g $2.33
This is a vanilla flavoured shake mix. You can add it to pretty much any liquid you want or into a smoothie. This has a whole bunch of good things in it and none of the bad stuff like fat or cholesterol. Since I’ve been having smoothies every other day, this will more then likely be tossed in one of those.
Fortifying Shampoo & Conditioner by Neolia-10ml $0.20 each
I’m so glad to have received both shampoo and conditioner in this box. This is made with organic olive oil, aloe vera, and moringa. These are kinda small samples but I think I can get two uses out of them.
Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Bar by Camino-$4.29
Ooooohhhh! Chocolate……This looks so good. It’s fair trade and organic and gluten-free. It tastes like a normal bar and I would buy this again if I saw it in a store.
Colostrum Plus Chewables by Symbiotics-2pk $0.50 each
I have to say that I read colostrum and went eww, gross. I mean, it’s all good for babies but so I really need or want to ingest this?? These promise to help with your immune system, just as it does for little ones. They are pineapple flavoured and while I don’t know that two days worth will make a huge difference it really can’t hurt.
Natural Sunscreen by Goddess Garden Organics-30ml $3.33
This is an SPF30, broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen. While I tend to skip it for myself unless it’s already in my lotion or moisturizer, I slather the girls anytime they are going to by playing outside at all so thi will come in handy.
Aphrodisiac Granola by Fourmi Bionique-300g $5.21
This granola has dark chocolate, roasted almonds, and currants in it along with the standard granola items. It is made with local, organic and fair trade products. I’m not sure how it can be aphrodisiac but maybe the dark chocolate part? It also came with a discount code for any online purchases from them.
Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts-15g $0.80
I have seen these everywhere lately but have never tried them. They supposedly have a nutty flavour and can be eaten as is or used to top salad, cereal and yogurt. I think it would be like granola maybe and I like that on yogurt so that’s how I think I’ll try these.
Spatone 100% Natural Liquid Iron Supplement-14x25mL packets $7.38
When I pulled these out of the box I shuddered…..I had to take iron supplements for both of my pregnancies and they were nasty!!!! These seem to be just a naturally iron high water, that has been packaged and you simply drink one a day and it gives you what you need. I’m going to put my reactions aside and try these but if the first one is horrible then I am unfortunately going to give up on them.
GoGo Quinoa Chocolate Chip Cookies-2 $0.56 each
Okay I’ll admit it….I’ve never had quinoa. Ever. In any way, shape or form. I think a cookie might be the way to start. These are wheat and gluten free, vegan, dairy and egg free. We are lucky enough to not have to deal with any food issues in our house but there really isn’t a down side to eating a little healthier…..like a cookie……
Woods Body Goods Lip Balm in Choco Latte-$4.50 Full Size
I am very excited to get this lip balm. Woods Body Goods is based out of my home town and I have been wanting to give their stuff a try. They actually offer their own subscription box but at $40 a month they are out of my price range. This balm is super nice. It goes on creamy and soft and is paraben, gluten, and petroleum free. I can only hope that there will be more different products from them in other boxes.
Also in the box were a few cards from some of the companies included. The one from Manitoba Harvest has a discount code as well.
This box was a huge surprise to me. It was FULL and I can’t wait to try all the things. Some have already been consumed and others are going to be used up soon. The value of this box was $30.36 and I received 13 individual samples. I think if you are looking for a wellness box that this one is a great price and even for someone like me who is just starting to make an effort to be a little healthier and lose some weight it’s helpful and not basing their products on you having a fully developed knowledge of healthy options.
