e.l.f. Beauty Bundle is a makeup box that ships every 8 weeks. They ship out a variety of makeup and brushes from their own lines. They have an assortment of products based on a central theme for that box. This months bundle was Happy Holiday Glow. The box starts at $19.99 every other month and promises to ship at least double that in the value of products. It ships in a black box with their logo on it and looks good. All products are full sized as well.
You can never see much on opening but the box is full.
Once out there is the info card, which opens up and carries over onto the back with all the items listed. The products come in a drawstring bag.
Matte Lip Color in Rich Red-$3.00
This is a completely wearable red lipstick. I don’t find it really all that matte but I think it looks good on me, even though I rarely wear a pure red lip. The twist up stick applicator makes it really simple to apply perfectly too.
Cream Eyeliner in Black-$3.00
I wear eyeliner everyday but I always wear pencil liners because I’m freaked out by liquid. This is not a liquid but having to apply it with a brush leads me to think I’m going to have the same issues I do with liquid ones. I think maybe I just need to practice more but with two little ones I don;t really have time to give it more then one go a morning and while I could leave the house with weird eye makeup, it’s not my first choice.
Blush Palette in Dark-$6.00
While I like this I wish I had received the light instead as I will only be able to wear two of these shades without looking like I just arrived from 1984. The blushes are replaceable though so I might be able to remedy this without to much hassle.
Glitter Nail Polish in Chic Confetti-$2.00
I have a bunch of e.l.f. nail polishes and they are some of my most used colors. This is a really great holiday polish and will make a good top coat over some other polishes that I don’t like as much.
Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in Black Bandit-$1.00
Now this is more my style! I think the built in sharpener is cool and don’t think you can really go wrong with a sparkly black liner.
Studio Prism Eyeshadow in Smoke-$10.00
This is the most expensive item in this months box. It is full of colors for a night out or a holiday party and I think would make a smokey eye super easy.
Essential Dramatic Lash Kit in Black-$1.00
I am so excited about these!!! I have been wanting to try out fake lashes for a long time and have never got around to buying any. I am maybe a bit odd (okay a lot odd), but I wish I had a life that required me to wear lashes everyday for any reason at all. Who knows, maybe I’ll start doing it just because. These $1.00 lashes could change my life. I’ll keep you posted, lol.
Mineral Glow in Shimmer-$8.00
I like that they send out products from their mineral line as well as the basic products in this box. They could cheap out and they don’t. This is a great finishing powder with just a touch of shimmer to add radiance to your skin. I think this might become my new best friend.
Studio Mineral Powder Brush-$3.00
And they give you the brush to apply it with too!
Lip Stain in Lucky Lady-$3.00
This product can be worn three ways, just the stain for a matte color, just the gloss for shine, or combined. On my this color is about the shade of my lips so it’s not too noticeable without the gloss. However it did dry to a matte and for a neutral lip it would be perfect.
The box had a value of $40.00 which is what they promise. I liked everything in it, even though the blushes are a bit too dark for me. They also include a code to get a discount off of a purchase from their store, and say that new products arrive weekly. If you remember from the last box I had a bit of an issue with customs, you can check that out here. I contacted them to let them know that they had way overstated the value of the box on the declaration label and I was charged another $20 to get my box. Since I do have to already pay a shipping fee to get this box that made it more expensive then what I was receiving. Not only did they reply quickly to my concerns, they also refunded me the customs charge even though I had just wanted to let them know so they could change their label for next time. Their customer service was fantastic and I would now recommend this box to anyone wanting to get a set of seasonally appropriate cosmetics to switch things up every two months. Don’t let the prices fool you, the makeup is not cheaply colored or crappy quality. You can visit their site by clicking here.
Today’s Advent Calendar treats were:
Beauty Sticky Notes from Benefit.
Strawberry Lip Butter from the Body Shop, because “You have plenty of admirers today, keep the mistletoe handy!” Gee I hope I can keep them from beating down my door in their efforts to kiss me…..
I have to say I am a little surprised at the amount of non-beauty products I have been getting from the Benefit calendar. For what it cost I thought it would be full of their products and I have already received paper clips, sticky notes, and a hair tie making 30% of my treats so far not makeup. Maybe they are saving the really good stuff till the end? I don’t have a winner today since I’m sad about the sticky notes and only okay with the lip butter. Here’s hoping tomorrow returns me to joy.
