So these are my treat to myself…..not that the other boxes I receive aren’t…..but these just make me happy in so many ways. I heard about these types of things from reading a few other blogs and made it my mission to try to find some if possible. My first disappointments came from realizing that many beauty advent calendars are not sold in Canada. There are a whoooole bunch more in the UK and at least two others that are only in the States. I probably would have been willing to pay some shipping to get them but most didn’t even offer for any price to send them here. SO my next attempt was to get the Benefit one. Thankfully Sephora.ca came through for me. I was able to snag one and a bunch of great samples (which Sephora is awesome for!), and it arrived today. They also have a nail polish calendar but that doesn’t interest me enough. I then tried to get The Body Shop Calendar. It was sold out online but said I could receive an email notification when it was back in stock. Super, sign me up. I do get that email but when I click the link the whole advent calendar page has disappeared from their website. WTF?? So I send a polite but curious email to them asking what was going on. The response? So many people were on that same request that they were in stock for about 2 minutes and then were gone, no more to be had. I was crushed. As a last effort I called all The Body Shop stores in town. No one had any but one location took my name and said they would be getting another shipment and would hold one and call me. I’m still waiting. However I was in the mall where there was another location and asked just because I was there if they had any in. It turns out that theirs came just that day and I could have one! Even better my store loyalty card applied to this so I got it at a discount and a free lip gloss. They made my whole week.
This is The Body Shop one. There is a list of what’s in it on the back but I didn’t read it so I could be surprised.
Benefit Candy Coated Countdown. Again I skipped the list on the back. If you are interested it is still available, online only.
I thought I’d share the samples I received from Sephora as well.
My three samples that are shipped with every order. You get to chose from an ever changing selection when you checkout. Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, Dermadoctor DD Cream, and Radical Skincare Eye Revive Creme. I cashed in some Beauty Insider Points to get the Buxom Mascara Bar Sample.
With any purchase over $35 you could also chose a Samples of the Season Set. I went with the Flawless Refresh one. Inside the bag was a Prada Candy and Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume sample, Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, Bliss Body Butter in Grapefruit & Aloe, and two lip products, Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss in Exposed and a Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. This bag and the Pampered Party Prep one are still available, so remember to add them to your cart using code SEASONSET.
I plan to let you know what products I get everyday starting December 1, so remember to follow my blog using the sign up in the bottom right side to get an email when there is a new post. If I have any other boxes that I’m posting about I’ll just add the Advent products to the end of that post so you don’t get a bunch of emails from me.
I can’t wait!!!
