iBeauty Box May 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.  They include full size and sample size products from brands you know and ones to discover.  You could get anything from nail care, hair care, skincare, jewelry, or candles to makeup.  I’ve been in the market for more of the beauty boxes that drew me into this for a while so when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a try.  Boxes start at $24.99 a month and go down very slightly if you subscribe for a longer term.  Shipping to Canada is included in that price.

The box is a Cratejoy box with an iBeauty sticker on the one side.  The box is a little over half full of delightful things to discover.

20180526_084434

They include an info card that tells you what you will find and the value of those items.

20180526_084755

Turquoise Peacock Necklace-$15.99

I think this is a very pretty necklace.  The chain is a little cheap feeling but overall it’s nice.  There is a turquoise stone in the center and the outside has similar coloured stones for added sparkle.

The Balm Bronzer/Blush in Cabana Boy-$9.99

This is more of a blush in my opinion as it’s a sparkly pink shade.  It’s very light though and completely wearable. I really like The Balm products and am happy to get them in boxes.

20180526_084818

Silisponge-$9.99

These are the new makeup blenders.  I have received a few of them now from different boxes and I still haven’t tried them.  I like the Beauty Blenders and find they work well so I don’t trust this to work as well for me.  I will have to eventually give these a go.

20180526_084731

Jane Gliding Liners Eye Pencil in Slate Blue-$6.89

This is a mineral pencil and it glides on quite nicely.  It had a little bit of wax or something on the end so when I first rubbed it, nothing happened.  Then after a couple of swipes, it started to leave a mark.  I haven’t worn a blue liner in a while but I do like a pencil type eyeliner.

20180526_084621

Essie Nail Polish in Life Of The Party-$10.99

I don’t normally like getting polishes in boxes since I have a bunch and don’t wear them all that often.  However, I love the Essie brand and this is a great colour.  It is a dark pink with very tiny glitter in it.  Anything with shimmer is fine in my books!

20180526_084608

Simple Eye Markup Remover-$4.99

I have used a few other Simple products and have found them to be good at cleansing.  This is just for eye makeup removal but I expect that it will be just as effective.  It has no oils or perfumes in it, so it’ll be gentle on the delicate eye area skin.

20180526_084638

LipFusion Infatuation Lip Colour in Pucker Up-$7.99

This is a plumping lip gloss and it has the tingle of whatever method of plumping formula they are using.  It is a soft pink colour and works well for me.  This is about half of a normal sized lip gloss but it’ll still give me enough to use before I get tired of it and switch it up for something else.

There are three samples included this month.  We have Lancome Lipsticks, Burberry Brit perfume, and Nude Rescue Oil.

This month is back to what I was hoping to get when I signed up for this box.  There is a great mix of beauty products and I think I’ve finally figured out that each month I’m going to get a piece of jewelry and a tool.  The value this month is $66.83, which is a good value for what I paid.  If you want to check out iBeauty Box or any other boxes on CrateJoy click here and start your search.

Rosalette Beauty Bag April 2018

Rosalette Beauty Bag is a monthly subscription that sends out makeup and beauty products.  They offer a few different plans, either 4 sample sized products or 5-6 products, mixed between sample and full sized.  Plans start at $13.90 a month and there are added shipping costs.  If you subscribe for a year there are discounts.  I have no beauty bags left in my sub rotation so I was on the lookout for a cheaper one to get me some fun things.  I chose the Deluxe Bag, which is the bigger of the two.  They do send out shipping notices so that’s nice and it turns out that they are a Canadian company too!!!!  This month was also really late to arrive.

20180526_083305

Sorme Eyeliner Brush-$?

This is a brand repeat for the last few months in this bag.  This brush is 100% Sable hair.  I rarely use liner pots that require me to use a liner brush but I’m glad to have another one since anything near your eyes should be replaced often.

20180526_083334

Gold Eye Gels-$4.25

These are made by a brand I’ve never heard of but it seems to be all handmade and sold online.  These are used to help depuff and destress your eye area.  I like to use these as I can still go about what I’m doing and have them on.

20180526_083144

Sorme Jet Liner in Black-$?

This is a liquid liner that once dry is pretty smudge proof and leaves a nice smooth line.  Sometimes it takes me a few tries to get liquid liner right but I love the way it looks.

20180526_083403

Manna Kadar Eye Candy in S’more-$24.00

As you can see this arrived broken and it has bounced around.  This is really dark and I had to blend it out a bunch to get it to a wearable shade for me.  If I could do a smokey eye then this would be perfect.

20180526_083227

Starlooks Lip Gloss in Just Say Yes-$9.00

This is a Perfect Sized sample by Starlooks.  They include this in their own subscription box and I enjoy receiving them.  It’s a good makeup brand and this colour is fantastic.  It adds a wonderful sparkle to my lips and I will get lots of wear out if this one.

This month is better than the last few have been.  The value is high and the items are great.  There was a good mix of items and it’s nice to see the makeup back in the bag.  There still seem to be some issue with the fact that everything was just tossed into a mailer bag but at least it wasn’t the same as a few previous months.  If you want to try out this subscription click here to go to CrateJoy and check them out.

LippieBox May 2018

LippieBox is a monthly subscription that sends out 5 new or trending lip and beauty products.  They say they are most popular among tweens and teens but I love lip products and think it’s going to be great.  Boxes start at $19.00 per month and there is a $7.00 shipping fee to Canada.  Prices do go down with longer subscriptions. The box itself is tiny and fits easily in your mailbox.

The box is branded and pink and white.  Inside we find our surprises for the month, gently nestled in pink squiggles.

They include an info card that tells you all about the items that are included along with a story about some of their reviewers on Instagram.

20180526_084305

Dirty Lamb Coffee Scrub-$12.00

This scrub is so coffee scented!  This scrub is organic, vegan, and cruelty-free. I use a scrub on my body once a week and this one is going to get me going with that scent of coffee.

20180526_084212

Lip Niche Lip Gloss in Fearless-$12.00

This gloss is great!  It’s not sticky at all and has a good scent to it. The colour is a soft rose with just a hint of sparkle.  I’m always looking for new lip glosses and this one is a winner.

20180526_084123

Phone Grip-$15.00

This is a specially branded phone grip brought to us by the creators of the box.  I don’t ever use one of these because I have cases I switch out all the time and they have decorations on them I don’t want to be covered up.

20180526_084154

Starlooks Lip Gloss in Mad Crus-$9.00

This is one of Starlooks Perfect Size items.  They are smaller than full size but bigger than a sample size.  You can get a whole subscription from Starlooks of their makeup if you like it.  This colour is something I will wear all the time.  It is just darker than my lip colour and looks great on me.

20180526_084230

Magical Star Vanilla Cream Lip Balm-$3.00

This must be a bonus item as it’s not listed on the card at all.  It has a soft vanilla smell and glides on smoothly.  I like it.

I am very happy to have found this box.  I was a little concerned about getting a lip product only box as I have so much of it but the items in here are great and a good mix of things.  The value for this month is $51.00, a great value.  You can visit CrateJoy by clicking here and check out this box and many others.

Unicorn Dream Box April 2018

Unicorn Dream Box is a monthly subscription that will help to satisfy any cravings you may have for all things unicorn.  They will send out a mix of makeup, stationery, decor, and accessories.  There will also be a treat in there.  They offer two different sizes of box, Dream Mail that will send 3-4 items and the Dream Box that sends out 6-9 items.  Boxes start at $19.95 and do go down with longer plans.  There is an additional shipping charge to Canada.  I happen to love unicorns so getting this box was a bit of a no-brainer for me.

My Dream Mail showed up in a mailer bag.  Inside of that, it was carefully wrapped in bubble wrap.  Once we got past that there was a bright rainbow bag that was holding the goodies.

20180501_135849

They include an info card that tells you all of the items that you can expect to find in your bag and the value of those items.  There is also the social media links in case you want to get hold of them.

20180501_135928

Unicorn Liquid Pencil Case-$12.00

This is amazing!  This pencil case has a water-filled front that is filled with stars and unicorns and other cutouts.  This makes me so happy you can’t even imagine.  I shall take it to work and drive my boss crazy with it!

20180501_135942

Unicorn Nail Stickers-$12.00

These are pretty fun.  I never think to use nail stickers when I paint my nails but I might have to give the unicorns a try.  My nails might not be big enough to use many of them though.

Unicorn Pool Float-$16.00

I tend to see this as more of a beach ball then a float but that’s just me.  This is the most ridiculous and awesome thing I’ve ever seen.  I have no idea what I will do with it but it’s fun and I like it.

20180501_140306

Star Pen-$3.00

This a black pen with a star cap.  Not much else to say about it but I love pens so this will join my collection.

20180501_140258

Rainbow Erasers-$2.00

There are six little erasers in this bag.  They are mostly useless but very bright and I’ll line them up somewhere.

Candy-$3.00

There were two pieces of candy on the box, the rainbow is gummy and then there is a twisted lollipop.  I never say no to candy so I’ve already eaten half of these.

This box is even greater than I was hoping it would be.  I love the items in it and the mix of things was perfect.  The box is just fun and whimsical and will give me a good blast of unicorn for the few months I receive it.  This month the box value was $48.00 which is nice compared to the price.  If you want to get your own bit of unicorns click here to go to CrateJoy and search them out.

Rosalette Beauty Bag March 2018

20180518_205947

Not Soap, Radio Bubbles, not carbs-37.5mL $2.75

This body wash or bubble bath is made of grapefruit, guava, and mandarin to help you resist temptation.  If this stuff really works I’m going to cover myself in every single product made in this scent.  It does smell good and I’ve received two other samples from this same brand, in previous months, that had a great lather and that I enjoyed.

20180518_210003

Sorme #901 Brush-$?

This brush doesn’t seem to be listed on their website but it is a nice fluffy powder brush.  The bristles seem synthetic but that doesn’t bother me.  I don’t really love getting brushes in my boxes but this brand seems to be good and the one I got last month is working out.

20180518_210105

Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Lip Wand in Creme-$24.00

This lipstick has a built-in primer to help it last.  The shade is described as a soft tea rose.  It’s an okay colour but not the greatest for me.  I do like this brand though and have received many items from them in various boxes.

20180518_210118 (1)

Manna Kadar Glo Illuminator-$29.00

I like this illuminator.  It provides a soft shimmer and isn’t crazy glittery.  The base is great for my skin tone and all you can see is the glow…..:)

20180518_210124

Real Chemistry Fresh Start Foaming Cleanser-15mL $2.86

I’ve received many items from this brand before but never this product.  This is a cream type cleanser and it’s made to remove impurities and excess oil.   I’m almost out of the current cleanser I’m using so this has arrived at the right time.

This month is WAY better than the last few have been.  The value is high and the items are great.  There was a good mix of items and it’s nice to see the makeup back in the bag.  There still seem to be some issue with the fact that everything was just tossed into a mailer bag but at least it wasn’t the same as last month.  If you want to try out this subscription click here to go to CrateJoy and check them out.

iBeauty Box April 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.

They ship in a blue CrateJoy box with their label as a sticker on one side.  Inside I found everything packed in with squiggles to cushion it.

They have an info card included that tells you the products you received plus the value of those items.  It’s nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to.

20180501_140631

Heartbeat Necklace-$29.00

I actually really like this necklace but feel that the price they have listed for it is high.  It has a tag on it that looks really cheap and like you might find this in the dollar store.  That being said I will wear it because I think it’s cool and just hope that it won’t turn my skin green.

20180501_140558

Essential Tools Powder Brush-$7.99

This brush is awesome!  The bristles are super soft and will be great for spreading powder evenly.  I’m not normally a huge fan of getting brushes in boxes because I don’t replace them as often as they tend to arrive but this one I’m happy about.

20180501_140545

TonyMoly I’m Real Facial Sheet Mask-$9.99

TonyMoly is a brand I love and I’m always happy to get anything in a box from it.  This is an aloe moisturizing sheet mask.  I never used to use sheet masks before I got into boxes but now they are my go to.  You can pop one on and still go about your day while it does its magic.

20180501_140528

Menow True Lips Lip Liner Pencil in 050-$5.99

This lip liner is in a medium pink shade that will go really well with lots of different lipsticks.  I don’t wear lip liners all that often anymore but sometimes you need the added staying power that liner can give you.  This is an old-school pencil liner, no twist ups here.

20180501_140513

Fashion Pen-$6.99

This is another item I think is overvalued.  It is very Spring-like and writes well though.

20180501_140454

Jot Notebook-$8.99

I guess they are going heavy on the lifestyle aspect of the box this month.  This is a notebook and pen combo, not quite what you would expect in a beauty box.  It will be useful but I’d rather have received some more actual makeup.

20180501_140651

The bonus samples this month are Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, (which I love!) and Face It Magic COver BB Cream.

I am rather surprised at the items I got in the box this month.  It wasn’t so much a beauty box and that is what I am hoping to receive.  The brush and the mask are great and it’s nice to get the bonus samples.  The value of the box this month is $68.95 plus sample packets.  I think that’s highly inflated and a bit of a letdown.  If you want to check out iBeauty Box or any other boxes on CrateJoy click here and start your search.

Lippie Box April 2018

LippieBox is a monthly subscription that sends out 5 new or trending lip and beauty products.  They say they are most popular among tweens and teens but I love lip products and think it’s going to be great.  Boxes start at $19.00 per month and there is a $7.00 shipping fee to Canada.  Prices do go down with longer subscriptions. The box itself is tiny and fits easily in your mailbox.

The box itself is pink and white with the logo on the top and the website on the sides.  Inside everything was packed well and there are squiggles under the items to keep them safe.

They do have an info card that tells you what you are getting, social media links, and the retail value of the item.  It’s nice that it’s all full colour and on card stock, so it’s bent but not destroyed by living in the box for shipping.

20180501_141021

Chicken Poop Lip Junk-$4.00

As I’m sure you can guess there is no actual poop in the lip balm.  They sent it with a saying ” Grandpa says: If ya got dry lips put chicken poop on ’em so ya won’t lick ’em.”  It contains lavender and that is the main scent that comes out when you put it on. It also uses avocado oil and beeswax to give you soft lips.

20180501_141127

Sun Crush Lips Organic Calendula Lip Balm-$3.75

This balm is supposed to soothe the worst lips.  It is made with Calendula flowers and I received the Orange Ginger flavour and it’s not something I would normally go for.  I’m not a huge fan of ginger.  It does feel nice on my lips though.

20180501_141044

Breakups to Makeup Lipstick Pen-$?

This is slightly odd.  They seem to include one non-makeup item each month and this is it for April.  The kids will enjoy using this, I think it’s just a cute promo gimmick.

20180501_141104

Lip Locker Lipstick-$4.99

This might look like a tube of lip balm but inside is a shimmery dark mauve lipstick.  From the info included they are just about to launch a DIY lipstick kit so you can create your own custom lipsticks.  This was a fun surprise to open up.

20180501_141009

Naked Scrubs Naked Lemon Scrub-$5.00

This is a lip and body scrub made of natural ingredients.  It smells like fresh lemons and it’s a sugar scrub, which I prefer to a salt scrub.  This one is going in the tub right away.

I am very happy to have found this box.  I was a little concerned about getting a lip product only box as I have so much of it but the items in here are great and a good mix of things.  The value for this month is $17.74, an okay value.  You can visit CrateJoy by clicking here and check out this box and many others.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box April 2018

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies.  There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes.  Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there.  Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month.  I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books.  They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.

The flat box showed up around the same time again this month.  It looked a little messy inside but it does travel a long way to get here.

This month’s book is Kasia’s Surprise.  It is a novel about the summer break from school and the adventures of Kasia during that time.  It has a few Polish words and looks to be a good chapter book right at Bug’s current reading level.  It also has some images in the book to help with grasping the storyline.

20180501_141459

I can’t remember what this little lizard guys name is, but he is very cute.  I see my girls playing with the Ooshies they have previously received all the time so that is a good thing.  So many little toys get played with and tossed aside.

20180501_141328

The pencil crayon of the month is a lovely orange one and the sticker is there as normal.

Our four mystery items this month are a package of animal print scissors, a pack of Shopkins Trading cards (the kids love this game), Frozen Best Friends Necklace set, and a Frozen jewelry set that includes ring, bracelets, and necklaces.  We used to have scissors in this house, no clue where they ended up so getting more is a needed item.  There are lots of pieces of jewelry for the girls so there should be less fighting than normal…..who am I kidding?

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the crayons and pencils, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

Rosalette Beauty Bag February 2018

20180427_194619

This bag showed up very late and there was no inner bag holding the items.  This bag has seemed to go downhill in the last little while and this was the lowest it’s been.

20180427_194639

Manna Runway Ready Face Primer-$16.80 8mL

I love primers and this is one that I’ve never tried before.  It is quite a bit thicker than some of the other ones that are similar.  It goes on smooth though and doesn’t feel thick on my skin.  I think this will be a good coverage primer and look forward to using it.

20180427_194702

Sorme Large Fluff Brush-$?

This brush is not listed on their website so I’m not sure about a value on it.  It is a soft eyeshadow brush.  I think it will be a good replacement for one of the brushes that I use now.

20180427_194750

aBella Matte Liquid Lipstick in Laila-$?

The website for this company says they are not selling to customers right now as they upgrade their products.  That does make me wonder about this lipstick. Liquid lipstick is my nemesis.  I seem to be able to only make a giant mess with it.  Applying this one to test it out was no exception.  The colour is nice, slightly darker than I might normally wear for day to day but not crazy. I like that it is purple. It is a matte so it dries on your lips and becomes a battle to rub your lips together.  This probably means that it’ll stay on for a while though.  If I can get this one without looking like a clown I’m going to be wearing it.

20180427_194810

Medusa’s Make-Up Eyeshadow in Electro Pink-$4.00

Part of me is all, OMG how am I ever going to wear neon pink eyeshadow, and the other half is, OMG I love it!  🙂  It is very bright and very glittery and that is what comes through when you actually put it on.  I’ve received a bit of Medus’s Make-Up before and it has always been great to work with and gives me good staying power.  I’m happy with this.

20180427_194824

Akar Nutrient Boost Eye Serum-$?

I have no clue how big this tube is but a full bottle of this is $85 for 10mL.  This is made to reduce puffiness, dryness, and dark circles.  It is made with a bunch of oils and other ingredients to make a concentrated serum that has no fillers in it.

I am quite disappointed with the box this month.  Two of the items are duplicates, just in different shades and there seemed to be no care in tossing everything together in the bag. There is a good mix of beauty products and they’ve given me the makeup I’ve been missing from my other boxes.  You can find them on CrateJoy by clicking here and searching Rosalette.

iBeauty Box March 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.

They ship in a blue CrateJoy box with their label as a sticker on one side.  Inside I found everything packed in with squiggles to cushion it.

They have an info card included that tells you the products you received plus the value of those items.  It’s nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to.

20180330_184005

Sterling Silver Teardrop Necklace-$35.99

This is a super cute necklace.  I really like it and it’s something that I will wear.  It’s bright silver and I hope it doesn’t fade or tarnish.  It doesn’t say where this is from but it’s a good start to the box.

20180330_183859

Victoria’s Secret The One Luminous Cheek & Face Highlighter-$19.99

This is also fabulous!  It’s pale pink and shimmery and everything I love in a highlighter/blush.  I don’t often use a cream but I think I will start with this one.  It glides on smoothly and I really am in love with the shimmer.

20180330_183835

Stowaway Mini Lipstick in Cranberry-$10.00

I had thought I  would find this to be way too red for me but I kinda like it.  It glided on nicely and it’s a perfect red that works.  I’ve never heard of this brand but if this is an example of it I hope to get more.

20180330_183815

Colormates Eyeshadow Palette-$6.99

This is a 12 colour palette.  I am shocked to see it in this box even though it must be a drugstore brand because of the price.  All of these are shimmer shades and if you can’t tell, I really like glitter and shimmer so that makes this a win.

20180330_183758

Six Sided Nail File and Buffer-$5.99

This seems like a useful tool to have.  I have a couple of these as individual tools but nothing like this that incorporates all of the things into one.

20180330_183916

10 Professional Nail Lacquer-$5.99

There is no name on this but it’s colour number 443.  It’s a glorious shimmery purple that gave great coverage with just one coat.  This is another brand that is new to me.

I guess these are bonuses as none of them are listed on the card.  We have a Crystal Collagen Gold Powder Eye Mask, belif The True Cream, and Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads.  I think it’s great that they don’t include these in the value of the box but still toss them in to make us feel special that we got more things.

I am pleasantly surprised at the items I got in this box.  There were a few negative reviews but based on this box I am very happy.  They had a good mix of makeup and the skincare samples.  The value of the box this month is $84.95 plus sample packets.  That’s triple what I paid for the box, which is outstanding.  If you want to check this box out for yourself, you can head over to CrateJoy by clicking here.
