iBeauty Box March 2018

iBeauty Box is a monthly box that sends you an assortment of cosmetics, skin care, lifestyle items.  They include full size and sample size products from brands you know and ones to discover.  You could get anything from nail care, hair care, skincare, jewelry, or candles to makeup.  I’ve been in the market for more of the beauty boxes that drew me into this for a while so when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a try.  Boxes start at $24.99 a month and go down very slightly if you subscribe for a longer term.  Shipping to Canada is included in that price.

They ship in a blue CrateJoy box with their label as a sticker on one side.  Inside I found everything packed in with squiggles to cushion it.

They have an info card included that tells you the products you received plus the value of those items.  It’s nothing fancy but it does the job it needs to.

Sterling Silver Teardrop Necklace-$35.99

This is a super cute necklace.  I really like it and it’s something that I will wear.  It’s bright silver and I hope it doesn’t fade or tarnish.  It doesn’t say where this is from but it’s a good start to the box.

20180330_183859

Victoria’s Secret The One Luminous Cheek & Face Highlighter-$19.99

This is also fabulous!  It’s pale pink and shimmery and everything I love in a highlighter/blush.  I don’t often use a cream but I think I will start with this one.  It glides on smoothly and I really am in love with the shimmer.

20180330_183835

Stowaway Mini Lipstick in Cranberry-$10.00

I had thought I  would find this to be way too red for me but I kinda like it.  It glided on nicely and it’s a perfect red that works.  I’ve never heard of this brand but if this is an example of it I hope to get more.

20180330_183815

Colormates Eyeshadow Palette-$6.99

This is a 12 colour palette.  I am shocked to see it in this box even though it must be a drugstore brand because of the price.  All of these are shimmer shades and if you can’t tell, I really like glitter and shimmer so that makes this a win.

20180330_183758

Six Sided Nail File and Buffer-$5.99

This seems like a useful tool to have.  I have a couple of these as individual tools but nothing like this that incorporates all of the things into one.

20180330_183916

10 Professional Nail Lacquer-$5.99

There is no name on this but it’s colour number 443.  It’s a glorious shimmery purple that gave great coverage with just one coat.  This is another brand that is new to me.

I guess these are bonuses as none of them are listed on the card.  We have a Crystal Collagen Gold Powder Eye Mask, belif The True Cream, and Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads.  I think it’s great that they don’t include these in the value of the box but still toss them in to make us feel special that we got more things.

I am pleasantly surprised at the items I got in this box.  There were a few negative reviews but based on this box I am very happy.  They had a good mix of makeup and the skincare samples.  The value of the box this month is $84.95 plus sample packets.  That’s triple what I paid for the box, which is outstanding.  If you want to check this box out for yourself, you can head over to CrateJoy by clicking here.

Lippie Box March 2018

LippieBox is a monthly subscription that sends out 5 new or trending lip and beauty products.  They say they are most popular among tweens and teens but I love lip products and think it’s going to be great.  Boxes start at $19.00 per month and there is a $7.00 shipping fee to Canada.  Prices do go down with longer subscriptions.  My first box showed up within 3 weeks of ordering and it’s so darn cute I can’t believe it.

Since it’s my first box I took lots of pictures to give you some idea of what you can expect.  The box itself is pink and white with the logo on the top and the website on the sides.  Inside everything was packed well and there are squiggles under the items to keep them safe.

They do have an info card that tells you what you are getting, social media links, and the retail value of the item.  It’s nice that it’s all full colour and on card stock, so it’s bent but not destroyed by living in the box for shipping.

BeBe Bartoons Orange Creamsicle Frog-$5.99

I’m so happy with the first item out of this box!!!  This little frog is made by a company created on an idea from an 11and 12-year-old.  The pods can be refilled or if you use it all up the container can be used for storing air buds or other small items.

20180309_150248

Balm Daddy Legacy Lip Balm in Illustrious-$2.99

Illustrious is a citrus champagne flavour of lip balm.  I’ll be honest and say that it smells and tastes pretty horrible.  It does leave my lips feeling smooth and I’m sure it’ll soften them but so far it’s not something I’ll reach for all that often.

20180309_150223

Lip Balm Holder Keychain-$4.00~

This is made by the box and there is not a price with it.  It is super useful and fun.  It holds the regular lip balm completely so you don’t need to worry about it falling out of the cap coming off.  The snap is strong too.  This is a perfect addition to a box like this.

20180309_150523

Taste Beauty Lipstick in Mauve-$5.00

This lipstick is wonderful.  It’s a great shade for me and goes on really nicely.  The company never tests on animals and the lipstick is gluten-free.

20180309_150316

Lavee Beauty Nutri-Pure Lip Balm-$8.00

This is an organic lip balm.  It not only moisturizes your lips, it also smoothes the lines around them and repairs them.  It smells nice, not very strong and my lips feel nice with it in them.  This is a much better option than the first balm in this box.

I am very happy to have found this box.  I was a little concerned about getting a lip product only box as I have so much of it but the items in here are great and a good mix of things.  The value for this month is $25.98, a good value.  You can find this box on CrateJoy by searching LippieBox here.

Teardrop Storm Glass Weather Forecaster Home Decor Review

Feriwola has a large selection of home decor items to add character to your house.  Included in that is this teardrop weather forecaster.

img_20180309_191334.jpg

This is a glass figure with some type of chemical substance inside it that reacts to the weather pressure changes. This results in the crystals changing shape. It comes with instructions that let you know what each type means.

20180328_141438

I have to be honest it has not changed at all since I got it so I’m not sure how well it does it’s job but it is pretty and looks nice on the bookcase. If you want one yu can get it here,https://feriwola.com/products/teardrop-storm-glass-weather-forecast-home-decor

I received this product at a discount for review but all opinions are my own.

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box March 2018

Fred’s Box is a monthly subscription full of things for kids 3 and over.  In the Mystery Box, you get a book, an Ooshie or Crayola funky shapes, depending on the age of the recipient, pencil, sticker, postcards, and some mystery items. You can get this box as a twin version to get double the goodies.  There is a straight Ooshies box that saves you from having to try to collect them one at a time as well, in 4 sizes.  Boxes start at $3.99 British Pounds and go up from there.  Shipping to Canada is 54 pence a month.  I decided to go with the Mystery Box for Bug and since her birthday is soon, I aged her up to 6 for the books.  They shipped out quite quickly after ordering and now we get to check out what’s inside.

We got this box on time, so now I really don’t know what happened to the last one that took so long.  I could see from the first glance that this was going to be another good one.

The book this month is going to be a huge hit!  Bug has been obsessed with these Fairy books and we now own so many of them.  Luckily this is not one of the ones we’ve found.  Ruth the Red Riding Hood Fairy is book 4 of the Storybook Fairies collection.

20180323_181816

Our Ooshie this month is Cyborg.  He’s adorable and I love him.  He’s a good character and this one will join the princesses in the castle or the Lego house that’s being created.

20180323_181745

Purple pencil crayon and sticker.  I find random things with these stickers on them throughout the house.

The mystery items have hit it out of the park one more time.  We have a Frozen necklace that has sparkles that move around, Shopkins Trading Card Game pack, Shopkins Barrettes, a Frozen coin purse, and an Elsa tiara.  I can only envision fights happening but all of these things are going to be hot commodities in our house.  They really do know the crowd they are packing for and we have yet to get a box of things no one wants to play with or use.  It’s uncanny.

This box is great fun.  The girls are going to be very happy with all the toys in it and the book has already been given the thumb’s up.  There is an opportunity for creativity with the crayons and pencils, learning with the book, and play with the rest.  I can’t wait to see what future boxes from them bring us.  Fred’s Box run contests and have lots of special boxes you can get quite often.  If you want to check them out and get your own box of goodies click here.

Bitchy Box TOM February 2018

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

This is my last box from them so I hope it’s good!  Everything was safely packed in tissue paper and nothing looked damaged or broken.

The info card has the list of items on the front page, recipes in the middle, and all the social media contacts on the back.

Harebrained “Big Trouble In Little ‘Gina” Period Panties-$12.99

These are not one of the ones I’ve been hoping for but they are still pretty fun.  It never hurts to have Kurt Russell on your bum.  These are the same as all the other period panties in that they are lined in the front and crotch with black fabric just in case.

20180316_182621

“Bitches Make Wishes” Wishbone Pendant-$?

This pendant is made by Bitchy Box and is so you can keep getting what you want while you’re dealing with all that life throws at you.  I’ll take some extra luck any time it’s available.

20180316_182646

Meji Hello Panda Creme Filled Cookies-$?

I LOVE THESE COOKIES!!!!!!!  I’ve had to stop buying them at the store when I go because I want all the boxes of them.  They have a crunchy cookie outer shell with a soft gooey inside.  These ones are chocolate flavour but they come in many others.

20180316_182606

Ramune Drink Strawberry Flavour-$?

This is another thing I’ve had before and enjoy.  There is a little ball in the top that you push into the drink and it carbonates it right as you drink.  They are quite sweet but that’s okay.

Red Fortune Teller Fish-$0.06

This little fish in a bag tells you your fortune.  You place it in your palm and it curls or moves in a way that tells you what is going on.  Mine didn’t move which according to the instructions means it’s dead.  Go figure.

20180316_182653

Bonus-Fortune Cookies

This month had another great selection of things.   I think that they really nailed the theme of Va-China New Year this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  I am not bothering with a value this month as half the box I can’t possibly price.  It’s enough to know that I’m happy and love everything!

Fred’s Box Mystery Subscription Box February 2018

This box showed up really late but yet it shows it was mailed on 1 February so I don’t know what happened to it.  The first look is full of things I know the girls will enjoy so let’s dig in.

20180309_193216

The book this month is Comings and Goings at Parrot Park and it’s about Canadians that come visiting. I think it’s very fun that they added a book about Canadians to this UK box shipping to Canada.  The level of this book is one that Bug can read on her own and it also has lots of pictures if she gets stuck and needs a clue.

20180309_193207

This Ooshie is Firestorm.  We’ve seen him on Justice League cartoons and he’s a cute as all the rest of the ones we’ve received.  These get played with all the time and it’s great to get more for the collection.

20180309_193235

We got the grey pencil this time to join the rest.  There is also the sticker.  Still no more postcards so I guess they’ve stopped including them.

There is a stack of the mystery items this month!  We have a few favourites that appear all the time, like the Princess cards.  The other things we received are a Shopkins headband, a Shimmer and Shine bracelet, Shimmer and Shine hair ties, Trolls barrettes, and a sticker book about Bugs.  Both my girls have long hair so all the hair accessories are perfect.  I find the bug book creep but anything with stickers is a win in their eyes.  It’s still kinda freaky how well they know their targets and gives us exactly things that we can use or that are what the kids love.

Feriwola Men’s Watch Reveiw

Disclaimer: I received this product for a discount but all opinions are my own.

My husband is not much of a watch guy but there are occasions when he does want to have the ease of not pulling out his phone to check the time.  After a quick browse around the Feriwola site, I found this one to give a try for him.

20180214_183252

It came in this plastic wrapper, wrapped up in foam padding, and in a plastic bag mailer.  Shipping was reasonable and it made it here in under 3 weeks!

The watch features an oversized face with a couple of springs for that extra manly look.  There were no instructions included in the packaging but it’s just one knob to set, same as any other watch.  The strap is silicone and it uses quartz movement in the dial.

20180214_183442

As you can see my husband has fairly small wrists but it still looks good and worst case scenario he can use it as a weapon since the face is pretty heavy.  It’s not going to last forever but as a fashion watch, it’ll be good enough to make it to out of style. You can get yours here.

Home Made Luxe Craft Subscription November 2017

Home Made Luxe is a monthly box that sends out everything you need to make a Pinterest worthy home decor craft for your house.  They include step-by-step instructions and there is a link to a video that also walks you through them.  Boxes start at $29.99 plus shipping and do go down with longer terms.  I signed up for this one way back on Mother’s Day during the CrateJoy sale and scored it for 50% off.  I am always looking for new craft boxes and ideas and these ones are a little different from what I’ve received before.  I have a big stack of these to get through but all the delays in reviewing them are mine and have nothing to do with any shipping issues or problems getting boxes.  They do provide shipping notices and often they send out surveys to see what craft you want to see in the next month’s box.

The box was nicely wrapped inside and all the items were safely packaged.

The instruction booklet gives you an overview of the project and then step by step instructions to complete it.  It also has a Thank You from the founder and a code to get a discount on another box.

20171124_201215

The craft is a DIY Burlap Wreath.  This is very cute and since it did arrive near the beginning of Winter it would make a perfect decoration for your door.  You have to tie all the strips around the form and then add the decorations as finishing touches.

There was no bonus craft this month but Ièm not upset about it as the main craft is pretty awesome. I have been very happy with all the boxes I’ve received since the first one that made me question why I had signed up for this.  They have been providing me with tool and crafts that I would never reach out to myself and I’m excited to get these all made up.

Bitchy Box TOM January 2018

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

20180202_194255

Things were a little different this month.  The box felt very light and when I opened it, the info booklet was not on the top as normal.

The booklet ended up being at the bottom of the pile.  It has the normal list of items on the front, recipes in the middle, and social media on the back.  There was also a little note tucked in saying there was an item missing that they felt the could no longer wait for and that it will ship out next month.

Harebrained “Redrum” Period Panties-$12.99

I have to admit I don’t know this pop culture reference.  They are still a fun pair of panties and have all the benefits of the Harebrained line.  I’m still holding out for the Doctor Who ones though.

20180202_194418

Emergency Chocolate Bar-$?

This is a milk chocolate bar, wrapped in a custom wrapper.  They recommend keeping this for those days you are going to take an axe to something.

20180202_194432

Penguin Exfoliating Face Mask-$1.25

I love these!!! Any of the masks that have a pattern on them are so fun.  This one has dead sea salts to help refresh tired Winter skin.  I can’t wait to get this on and terrify my husband.

20180202_194305

Popcornopolis Nearly Naked Popcorn-$0.30

Popcorn is one of my stuck on an island foods.  This bag is just popcorn and salt and is going to be a delicious snack.  It happens to also be low in calories but that’s just a bonus at this point.

20180202_194327

Workout Dice-$3.00

They gave us this because it is January and most of us ha probably made a few (failed) resolutions.  This is a soft foam dice that have different workout options on each side.  It also has one side that is a water break so it’s not all horrible.

This month had another great selection of things.  The item that is missing is a pair of knitted fingerless gloves.  I think that they really nailed the theme of Crab-In Fever this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  I am not bothering with a value this month as half the box I can’t possibly price.  It’s enough to know that I’m happy and love everything!

Bitchy Box TOM December 2017

Bitchy Box is a TOM box with a difference.  They don’t provide feminine hygiene items, but instead items to help you get through that time of the month.  They will fill the box with a variety of sweet treats, salty snacks, and handpicked gifts.  They endeavor to make sure you don’t stab anyone while you are riding some fun hormonal shifts.  They have 3,6, or 12-month plans available, starting at $66.00, plus shipping to Canada.  I had seen some other people’s boxes from them and thought they looked fun so I’m trying them out.

20180128_194041

This was the Christmas box from Bitchy and that first look makes me think that they got at least a little festive up in here.

They have their standard little pamphlet in there.  On the front is the list of the items included for the month and where they can be found.  Inside are recipes for food and drinks. On the back is every possible social media link you could need to get hold of them.  There is also a code to get some discounts on wipes and a reminder that you can buy individual boxes too.

Harebrained “Staining Things” Period Panties-$12.99

These are probably the least favouite pair of these that they have sent out and that is only because I don’t watch the show.  All the good things about the period panties stand though.  They’re thick, comfy, don’t ride up, and have black material lining the inside.  These are festive though, I’ll give them that.

20180128_194153

Beyond Belief Mint Candy Kiss Lotion-$?

This lotion is scented with all the things that make you think winter……and peaches.  The other scents in here are peppermint, cinnamon, and butterscotch.  The lotion soaks in really quick and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy at all.  I like it!

20180128_194215

Snappers Caramel Brownie Snack-$15.00

These look amazing!!!!!  They are a pretzel, covered with a melty caramel fudge, and drizzled with dark chocolate.  They are a combination of the ultimate PMS relievers in one delicious mouthful.  I’m not sharing and these are going away in my special snack stash right now.

20180128_194204

Starbucks Peppermint Hot Cocoa-$8.55

This is a great addition.  I like Starbucks Peppermint Cocoa and since these are just add water packs I can have them at work and avoid the coffee shop.

20180128_194239

You Park Like A Bitch Cards

These are made up by the Bitchy Ladies and there is twelve business card sized little notes to make you feel better when faced with the other option of wanting to ram your shopping cart into other peoples cars.  I could have used one today as the scene below is what greeted me after getting groceries.  Let me just state that I was parked straight and had no issues getting me or my kid out of the car when I arrived and there was a car parked next to me.

20180128_132311

Let’s just say there’d have been words if they’d come back before I’d left.  Fuckwit.

This month had another great selection of things.  I think that they really nailed the theme this month!  Everything in the box is made to make you feel better and less worked up about things that may go on for this time of the month.  I am not bothering with a value this month as half the box I can’t possibly price.  It’s enough to know that I’m happy and love everything!
